It was born on the same day your child was born... it's a determination that keeps us bound together as parents and visionaries. It's the same spirit that helped us to create and nurture our children, it's the reason we are BETTER TOGETHER, and why we should never allow things like LONLINESS, LACK OF INFORMATION or FEAR of the unknown become the unfortunate guiding force. Deep down that EMPOWERED SPIRIT is always there... and we can USE it to our advantage--- to step out of our comfort zone, apply for a business loan, or call up an intimidating client to close the deal. DO NOT deny this spirit!! You don't want your children to settle for mediocrity, so why accept that for yourself? Let go of those limiting beliefs and you will achieve a better perspective in all you do. Negative illusions might be holding you back from knowing that it is a grand thing just to be alive. More than that, it could be preventing you from broadcasting a powerful message to the world that only you were meant to deliver. But as an adult...I not only see the benefits of keeping my mind alert... I FEEL IT. It's like exercise for my brain. We could all use a little MAGIC in our lives. When I say "magic," I am talking about ALL that has been accomplished by those who had visions, followed their instincts, and broke new ground DESPITE being told it couldn't be done. I am talking about those who trusted their heart even when their head told them it wasn't logical, those whose ideas were rejected - whose confidence and self worth was marred - and those who found a way to create MEASURABLE SUCCESS against the odds. We must NEVER stop learning from those who have created magic before us. Every day new paths are paved FOR US ... so that we may be able to create our own. MAGIC defies the laws of science. We are all up against SOMETHING...that is what makes life INTERESTING. Trickery or not, the BELIEF in MAGIC is what fuels our spirit and feeds our energy to keep going. There are days where I am so overwhelmed with fierce joy, I wonder if I am living someone else’s life. You see, we cannot connect the dots going forward, but looking back… EVERYTHING BECOMES so clear. Imagine that we have always been traveling to be RIGHT HERE--- in this glorious moment in time. No matter how hard we work to create a road map--- it's always a shock when we ACTUALLY ARRIVE. Take a look around you...do you see how far you've come? I just had the great honor of speaking to a lovely group of (mostly) women entrepreneurs at the Shabby Lane Shop Small Business Conference in Nashville, TN …so very far away from home... and yet, so close. There were attendees who --I learned later-- booked their tickets to see me speak, because they were long-time members of OurMilkMoney.com, or listeners of the This Little Parent Stayed Home radio show. Ironically, it was I who was honored to be in their presence. I had many surreal take-aways... the first being when a woman told me that she attributes much of her success to the organization that I founded nearly 6 years ago. I remember my vision for OMM like it was yesterday, and I had only hoped that it would make a difference in people’s lives-- but I could never have predicted this recent... profound... moment when I realized that all those years ago, my decision to execute my vision ACTUALLY made a difference in someone else’s life. This told me several things: **It is important that we ACT on our visions and our dreams. Not only for US-- but for others. When we find success, we give others permission to do the same. The effects of our learning experiences will continue to expand and grow ALL OF US as a progressive human race. When YOU find success--- ultimately WE ARE ALL better for it. **When someone has made a difference in YOUR LIFE--- TELL THEM!!! There is nothing more invigorating and empowering than realizing your significance. The cognizance that YOU HAVE MATTERED can create enough powerful energy to light up a city-- or ignite a successful small business. If you are willing to tell someone else what they have meant to you… IT WILL come back to you. Trust and know that. **Numbers are not JUST NUMBERS--- they are PEOPLE… individuals with life blood and loving souls. I admit it, I am addicted to watching my radio show numbers go up every month. That is because in my "one-way communication" with you... this has become THE ONE way that that I am able to measure my reach... and the effects of the insight that I work to bring you each week. ...And so IT'S NO WONDER we get obsessed with watching our numbers... (YouTube views, Blog readers, newsletter subscribers, Facebook "likes", Twitter followers, etc, etc...) BUT it is EASY TO FORGET what these numbers represent: PEOPLE. These are not JUST downloads, subscribers, "likes" on a Facebook page, or a comment on a blog... each "number" is an opportunity to gain new insight into something that we didn't know before. Getting on the stage to speak publicly reminded me of how important it is for us to stay connected with each other...on a personal level. With more than 30,000 radio show downloads each month, I have fallen into the same trap as so many of you... forgetting what each number represents. It can almost make your mind EXPLODE with the opacity that EACH NUMBER is an ACTUAL PERSON--- filled with hopes and dreams... fears and challenges... and the choice --and desire--to make a difference in this lifetime. Each one of us is filled with experiences and memories that have created and molded us into our true selves. Each person we meet is an opportunity to learn something new-- and you never know when you could be meeting your next best friend. IT HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS--- how distant we can be from one another when we are all so fragile... it is so very... HUMAN. And yet, we DON'T have to live that way. We are ALL capable of living full and rich lives...especially when we CHOOSE to connect with one another. Choose your mentors strategically. It is very common for mothers to feel...ISOLATED--Alone--Scared... and even DESPERATE for personal fulfillment. What's more--- I began to feel -- almost as if... they didn't REALLY WANT me to succeed. Once I saw with fresh eyes the CLEARER picture of where I had (unfortunately) landed... a cut-throat industry filled with big egos and easily threatened RIVALS who would STAB and SABOTAGE their own colleagues for the mere HOPE of crossing the finish line first... ((GAG!)).... I clamored to find MY PEEPS. ---AND --- (phew!) I found them! Had it not been for MY TRIBE... I might have remained disenchanted. MY TRIBE IS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME... ---If I need a good cry....(and to once again find the road back to LAUGHTER!!) ---If I need to find my focus, clarity, and purpose... ---If I am challenged by a business goal... ---If I need to reinvent... ---If I need to brainstorm. I ---HONESTLY--- don't know where I'd be without my tribe. These are women (and mothers) who get ME (not who I might appear to be.) These are women who are rooting FOR ME. (Not secretly hoping that I will fail or worry that MY SUCCESS might dampen their own spotlight.) These are women who will NEVER FAULT me for having a setback or seeking support and a pick-me-up, or choosing to be 100% ME. THIS IS SO RARE...but not impossible to encounter in your own lives. When YOU are feeling sad, or clouded , or scared or alone--- YOU MUST HAVE A TRIBE who you can count on to boost you back up, remind you of your purpose, what you are capable of and help you to cleanse the energetic vibration of your passionate ambition to serve others. Body issues: Everyone has them. I don't think I've met a single person who simply loved the body in which they were born. Men... Women...everyone has an issue with SOME PART of their body. At least most grown-ups do. Young children seem to be different...for the most part. They have no problem running around, being naked and loving all their parts. So when do the body issues start? ---AND---more importantly ---WHY---? In today's society we are now seeing more children under the age of twelve developing eating disorders. Anorexia nervosa and compulsive eating are the most common among such young children, but there are cases of bulimia being reported. It is estimated that 40% of nine year olds have already dieted and we are beginning to see four and five year olds expressing the need to diet. Are young children being robbed of their childhoods? Why is it that so many young children are becoming obsessed with dieting and their weight? More reason to LOVE THE BODY you are in. Children are at a risk for developing an eating disorder if the parents themselves are too preoccupied with appearance and weight. If the parents are constantly dieting and expressing dislike towards their own bodies, the child will receive the message that appearance is very important. Eating Disorder Awareness week is coming at the end of February. The point of today's show is to make US AWARE of how our own stresses and negative body images affect our children. If they are going to grow up to love and accept their bodies, they must be raised to love and accept themselves. Activate your Authenticity. I never really intended to be a social media coach, but one day I just happened to crack a code on a social media platform. This simple equation allowed me to drive traffic with just a quick click of a button. Before I knew it I had completely reinvented myself and I had a wait-list of clients who were willing to pay me top dollar to share my secret with them. The secret is that there really IS NO SECRET online or offline that you can't figure out for yourself. The simplicity of what I discovered is no different than good old fashioned selling through authentic engagement and personal connection. Everything I know about increasing your bottom line in business through social media navigation is completely and totally visible. These aren't just numbers. These are people. There is something that feels very artificial about easily driving traffic through interpersonal connections, and yet contrary to how it must sound, every message I broadcast is generated from my genuine passion. NOTHING is sly or fraudulent about how I've increased my following or how I've taught others how to increase theirs. I am willing to bet that if you were to separate the successful moments in your business from the not-so-successful ones, the BANKABLE moments DID NOT come from the manufactured tech messages that were sent from your automated services. Stay connected digitally, but separate yourself from the marketing hype and connect on a personal level. We've all had negative social media experiences and therefore we ourselves know what we will not tolerate when it comes to buying into someone else's hype on the internet. Yet when increasing our own bottom line in business and turning a profit, there is a disconnect. We often find ourselves committing the same bad behaviors that we resent in others. "Everyone is talking, but no one is listening." This is the way that my clients often describe their experience in social media and networking platforms. They feel bombarded and overwhelmed by the LOUD and confrontational messages they see from other small business entrepreneurs - which can and often does result in feeling small and invisible. The thunderous and overbearing business agendas on these crowded platforms can be downright deafening. Do we really need to play that game to have a chance at success? Selling on social media might feel a bit... unnatural. Small businesses don't always mesh with high impact and aggressive sales tactics, so what you think might be an aversion to online selling might actually be an indication that you have what it takes to form everlasting and solid relationships with your clients. Authenticity feels right. Artificiality doesn't. A good business cannot survive on passion and enthusiasm alone. Sales MUST BE part of the equation, but online selling does not need to be mass produced and manufactured. Even your automated processes should be authentic, organic and compelling. The trick is to adequately balance your online presence with a strategic system that keeps you engaged at a personal level. COEXIST is a documentary film making an impact on young people's lives. "Coexist is a thought-provoking and compelling film that resonates profoundly with anyone who views it. It underscores the sheer complexity of the Rwandan genocide and subsequent efforts at reconciliation, and provides a deeper examination of hatred and forgiveness." - Connecticut Teacher of the Year (2012), David Bosso This Boston-based educational documentary film project, "Coexist: Bridging the Divide Between Us and Them," aims to teach students about genocide to increase their awareness of "othering," which can range from pushing and teasing to bullying and hate crimes. Educating our children is the best way to create awareness, tolerance and ultimately end violence in communities. "Coexist" has been featured in film festivals, conferences, schools, and universities around the world following its world premiere in Boston, and has been selected by American Public Television for distribution to public television stations across the country, extending its reach to more than 100 million viewers. This week we will be interviewing the director of this critical and significant film, Adam Mazo who has drawn parallels between the events in Rwanda and attacks by school bullies, suggesting peer pressure can push nonviolent people to commit violent acts, whether it’s throwing someone’s backpack in the trash or committing more extreme acts such as genocide. A reflection about bullying is a productive way for us to understand violence in communities. We cannot pretend that we don't relate. If anything, practicing extreme tolerance helps us to understand why bullying occurs, and what we can do to prevent it. It's not always as simple as a deep rooted lack of self esteem that motivates one group to dominate over another. In the case of Rwanda, and how it mirrors events on our playgrounds, often those who bully are protecting themselves from the wrath of the group by pledging loyalty. This is a also a mob mentality: bully or be bullied. We've discussed peer pressure and bullying in the past, but never from this angle. A passionate subject for me, as I was just "cyber-bullied" not too long ago, I am pleased to be able to recognize Adam's great work and do my part to pass this important message forward.

It's spirituality that drives our visions and decisions. I was raised to be agnostic...to keep my mind open to all possibilities. It has served me well on most accounts, but there were times when I needed more. I needed to have...FAITH. Without faith, what else is there? Whether you believe in a higher power or not, you have a spirit within you that drives your ambitions, your visions for success, the way that you raise your children to have morals and values and the way that you respond to life's adversity. We love, we hate, we laugh, we cry, we fight with our best friends and our spouses, we make up, we yell at our kids and then hug them a little too tight (ouch, mom!), we make ourselves over, reinvent and rebrand. We are progress. We question everything we do, even when we are most firm in our convictions. We pray even when we don't fully believe. We hang in there even when we most feel like throwing in the towel. We mourn losses and celebrate victories. We are the human spirit. We make the world go around with what we can't see but believe is there. Faith. This week I will be introducing you to one of my favorite people in the world... my good friend Geraldine Teggalove. She is a person just like me and you - with a story of struggle and a new emergence into self-realization and now a spiritual mentor for others. I've learned so much about the human spirit through Geraldine, and this week I am pleased to be able to share her and her prosperous wisdom with you. Happy New Year. Now get back to work. Changing our moods to match our surroundings isn't always easy. We ventured into solo-preneurship because we wanted the freedom to be able to work, play and sleep on our own. We chose our unrestricted and self-led careers so that we could "leave work at work" and take long breaks to celebrate the holidays with our families among other things. Although I am grateful to have that luxury of turning around the "Closed" sign in the window for the last 2 weeks of the year I admit that it is always a struggle for me to shift into vacation mode or "mood". I love my work. It's not easy to turn off this brilliant brain of mine (ahem). When I get into a productive momentum, I don't want to stop for anything. Not even chocolate covered candycanes and eggnog. This hot mom / workaholic / home maker needs to be given an annual intervention at the same time every year. It has become a ritualistic detox for me to turn off my smart phone and leave it off to stay present in the holiday festivities. Interestingly enough, once the holidays are over and it's time to go back to work, it's a struggle to go back to the work mindset. There is a new detox that needs to take place. I am just not in the mood. By this point, I've gotten happily accustomed to waking up late with the kids, hanging out in pajamas to sing Wii Karaoke most of the morning, eating left-over apple pie for breakfast, snacking on gingerbread houses and chocolate truffles, and having "words with friends" marathons with old college friends all. day. long. Snap out of it. Remember your purpose. Once we get clear and remember our higher intention, it shouldn't take long to snap back into the profit-producing mindset. After all, it is the choice we made to work hard in our independent careers that allows us to have long vacations as a result...and as a reward. We've earned the right to be able to get lost in our hazy lazy vacation moods without losing our shirts. And we'll earn it again. And again. Let's get PUMPED. I cannot wait to get going in 2013. There is a world of possibility waiting to be attained in small business and Mompreneurship! Mom business leaders are the new sexy of the decade and we are venturing into more opportunities than ever before. There is a process that we must go through when tragedy strikes. When I first heard about the tragic events of the school shooting in Conneticut on Friday, I shut down. Every part of me went numb. It was too much for me to handle. I had to take some time to process it, sort out my reaction, and consider how much I could allow my mind to wrap around it. I was sick to my stomach. I couldn't breathe. My 3 year old was having a play date with his best friend and I had to keep it together for their sake. So I did. I went through my day holding onto my strength as long as I could. That afternoon at my first grader's pick up time, I arrived at his school early, choking back tears and when he approached the car, I got out to hug him. I began to cry...but only for a few seconds. Our embrace was disrupted by a school attendant who had to remind me that getting out of the car in the middle of the carpool lane was not permitted as I was holding up traffic. I took the kids to get a banana split, and loved loved loved them as much as I could before dropping them off at their grandparent's for the weekend. It was my birthday and I had plans to meet my husband for dinner. I fell into my husband's arms and sobbed. I was angry, scared, sad and more. A part of me wanted to curl up in a little ball and pretend it never happened. Deep down I couldn't stop screaming. I argued with myself on whether or not I should approach the subject on this week's show. How could I talk about it when I could barely speak? How could I not talk about it? As parents, we are universally connected. The love that we have for our children is what binds us together across the globe and it's the reason we can experience such pain and anguish even when we are miles away from the tragic incident. We are bonded to the parents who lost their precious children that day. We can't help but feel their grief as if it were our own. We may come from different cultures, religious faiths and educational backgrounds. We may have different opinions about weapons, the government's role in gun regulation, and who or what is to blame in the matter. But make no mistake, we are aligned with one another. This is not one of those issues where we can simply "agree to disagree". Children have lost their lives, and their parents will never be the same. WE will never be the same. We MUST come together to find a solution. This show addresses the tragic events of Sandy Hook Elementary School as they occurred and what we can do as parents to protect our own children moving forward.

The most difficult part of being your own boss is knowing when to take a break. No one really intended for the holiday season to be stressful. So why does it become increasingly overwhelming each year? Let's dissect it. (It's my favorite thing to do!) The holidays have become more diverse and although it may take more effort to keep all the annual traditions equally balanced, I have to admit that I really love how much we have progressed as a society. Chrismakah. Shismakah. It's all in good fun. Last night I hosted my annual Hanukkah party for the neighborhood kids which is always ironic because my kids are the only ones there who are actually Jewish. I never intended to be the mom responsibile for giving culture to the non-Jews, but each year I am asked by the other neighborhood moms, "You'll be having your annual Hanukkah party again, right?" Impressed by the interest, the willingness to learn, and the celebratory spirit of others... I just can't say no. Each year, usually by about the 300th latka and burn from the oil splatter, I admit that I have a moment of crankiness. I declare, "This is the last year we do this!" I vow to spend less on the festivities, give less gifts, retire from making hundreds of homemade holiday truffles for bosses and teachers, cease the humorous holiday cards (known for our interfaith witticism), and simplify the winter season altogether with LESS. The real reason I can't quit. Besides the fact that I love it? Nothing beats this time of year. Amid the chaos, I am reminded of the fact that I am throwing parties, creating holiday cards, baking and decorating... BECAUSE I CAN. I am the boss of me and I SAY it's time to take a break and enjoy the happiest time of the year. (I am giving YOU permission to do the same.) Six years ago, I was trapped by my corporate job, my limited paycheck, the captivity of the time card... and I had big dreams. Aspiring to one day have the kind of freedom that only a self-employed mom could occupy, I yearned to make my own decisions, participate in holiday recreation, and tell my kids "Yes, I can come to your preschool to demonstrate the lighting of the menorah... again." Because when we break it down, there is no expectation in the world of self-employment. The only pressure we truly feel is the kind we put on ourselves. Knowing that I can quit at anytime is enough to make the choice not to. So, on this week's show I am taking a break from the business talk and instead we're going have a little fun getting to know some television and film celebs. Both guests are friends of mine from my acting days, positively talented and unequivocally excellent in the parenting department. The #1 stress creator during the holidays is debt. We have made sacrifices. We've left our double-income-no-kids lifestyle long behind and ventured into a hand-to-mouth way of living. We don't spend extravagantly and although we survive each year, we still manage to go deeper into debt. The holidays expect more from us. Because we don't have disposable income, we fall back on the only thing that will get us through...credit. American households have a substantial amount of credit card debt. Of the estimated 46.7% of households that carry a balance, the average debt is a whopping $15,328 as of September 2012. What does this mean? Credit card debt is holding fairly steady – but whether or not that’s a good thing is up for debate. On the one hand, higher consumer spending puts the economy on a positive track. Higher spending leads to more jobs and higher incomes, which in turn lead to higher spending. However, if wages and employment are improving at a sluggish pace, this might well be an indication that families are borrowing to make ends meet rather than a reflection of a well-founded increase in consumer confidence. Thanksgiving is a great time for reflection. It's been said that living in gratitude is the best way to abundance. So, just for the sake of argument, if we were to give thanks for our family, our friends, the roof over our heads, the food we eat and our good health....would the laws of the universe give us more of the good stuff? If only it were that easy! Thinking positively is really only a small component of being able to manifest and create an abundant outcome. For me, it's the deep reflection of what I've already accomplished that transports me into the most potent mindset for manifesting. So much of what I am grateful for began 5...10...even 15 years ago. “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future....” - Steve Jobs Fifteen years ago I arrived in Los Angeles, bright and starry eyed. With my college degree in musical theatre in one hand and a pile of headshots and resumes in the other, I was ready and determined to become the hottest star that Hollywood had ever seen. Young, hot and single, I came to the Tinseltown along with millions of others who all looked every bit as hot as me and had the same dream. I was now in the most competitive industry in the world and although I had the chops to perform circles around the others, I learned quickly that getting hired was more about strategy and less about song and dance. Many actors learned this the hard way. They quickly saw the steep competition before them and the near impossibility of getting their talent discovered by the right people. So they quit. At 24 years old, I landed a job working at a company called Act Now! where I became a consultant for the seasoned actor in Hollywood. I spent my days auditioning actors for our pre-screened workshops, coached them how to nail the "cold reading" audition every time, and taught them how to build relationships with top-notch casting directors, agents and managers. My former boss and first business mentor, Kenna Dean, taught me my first lessons in the importance of business integrity, reverse sales strategy, and choosing our clients appropriately. Kenna was also the first "Mom-prenuer" I'd ever known, building a lucrative business model that served the most competitive industry on the planet and still managing to put her family first without apology. What gives? If you are like most of the moms I meet who have decided to bring their careers home, your biggest frustration comes from the lack of results from all of your hard work. Whatever is screaming the loudest gets the most attention. At least that is how it is in my house. As parents, our days almost never go as planned. Go beyond slight recognition and dive into stardom. Years before I was a business coach for parents, I was a business coach for actors in Hollywood. I didn't teach them how to act, but I did coach them on how to know their "product" as well as how to create out of the box marketing strategies that would allow them to be remembered by the people who were in a position to hire them. The business of acting isn't much different than your home based business where you structure your own game plan, work to build memorable relationships, and represent your brand with complete confidence and poise. Many of the most passionate and talented actors share a common pitfall in their careers: They are so passionate about the art of performing, but they often ignore the neccessary business steps it takes to get them in front of the camera, or on the stage. "I don't want to play the Hollywood game, " they'd say, "Just put me on the stage and let me perform." My response? "If you don't create a business plan and a unique marketing strategy, how do you expect anyone to hire you to perform on a stage?" Working actors know that their real job is the audition, not the performance. Often the most significawork is not in the actual execution of our service, but rather in the implementation of the plan to get someone to hire us. It should come as no surprise that some of the most talented actors remain unknown in Hollywood, while many of the less talented ones don't have any problem booking role after role. Short answer? Those who are working in show biz, know BIZ. Do NOT under-estimate the power of muscle marketing and out of the box strategies when working to get known in a competitive field. The key is in targeted actions that will get the industry buzzing about you. If you are hungry enough, you shouldn't have any problem taking an unconventional route (or two) to your destination. Champions come from the most unexpected places. I'd like to think of myself as a pretty open-minded and accepting individual. No judgements here. But in the realm of authenticity, I'll admit that when I was first introduced to Ryans Sallans, a trans-gender male, public speaker, educator and author of the book "Second Son," I found myself making quick assumptions about him - not that I am proud of myself. Even I, who touts non-discrimination wondered... what's wrong with this person that he couldn't find peace until he had transformed his entire gender identity? The more I read about Ryan, the more he became a hero to me. Gender identity is a complex and awkward topic, even for the most broad-minded and unbiased but through Ryan's writing, speaking and mentoring, his message is such an important one. He brings a multitude of positive attributes to the trans-gender and gay communities, as well as to their families who love them and want to understand them. Shouldn't we all make an effort to be more understanding? We can all learn a thing or two from Ryan Sallans, the brave trans-gender male who found his authentic self. As a mother, I've always sworn that I'd be 100% accepting of my child's sexual orientation and lifestyle without question. But would I be able to maintain this stance should my child develop deep depression and extreme dysfunction due to gender identity crises? Our children may decide to go down a different path than we had envisioned for them. As parents, there is nothing we want more than our child's true happiness in life. To meet this life-long goal, we may be faced with circumstances that challenge our ideals and force us to push past our comfort zones. At some point we must concede that we will not always "know better" when it comes to our children's happiness. At which point, there will be nothing left to do but trust that they will find their own path to whatever divine happiness means for them personally. Friday's show has become a true passion piece for me as I believe this topic is timely and important for anyone who loves and wants to understand another human being. This week I will have the honor of interviewing this brave gentleman, an icon and role model for the trans-gender community, a patient teacher for those who are affected by their transitioning family members, and a life saver to suicidal teens

If we weren't crazy before we became parents, we certainly are now. I admit it. I love crazy people. Let me clarify. I love people who embrace their craziness. Why try to hide it when you can make it work to your advantage? It's the crazy ones who get. stuff. done. It's the crazy ones who invent new products, take them as far as they will go, and then invent something new when the first product becomes old news. It's the crazy people who always land the big accounts and close the biggest deals because they are not afraid of the word "no" It's the crazy ones who demand to know the rules just so they can officially push the boundaries. It's the crazy parents who obsess about getting their child into the most ideal pre-school, without which they may never get a decent shot to get them into college or grad school. How crazy are you? But more importantly, how crazy are you willing to be? Are you crazy? Or just stressed out? The difference between crazy and stressed out is the FUN aspect. Crazy can be a blast. Stress is just a downer. So how do we keep it light and enjoyable? Humor, of course. I am so excited about this week's guest. I might as well hand over the microphone and let her take over. I heard Dr. Nancy Berk on my friend Angie Mozillo's show, Mom of Many Hats Radio, and couldn't stop laughing. Laughing?! Sometimes, in the day to day meshugana (Yiddish for "crazy") I forget how to let those ha-ha's out for some fresh air. Do you ever wonder "When did I get so serious??" Nancy Berk is a Stand-up Comedian AND a clinical Psychologist. Talk about a unique and fertile concept! The world can always use more humor- especially in an area that usually has our sanity slipping away on a daily basis. We are going to have some fun on Friday! The topic is about preparing for college, but really Nancy Berk is filled with great insight to get us through all the parenting years.

Are you Fearless? Probably not. None of us are. Fear affects each and every one of us in different ways. You may think you know someone who appears to be fearless, but the truth is, they just might have a better relationship with fear than you do. Are you the kind of person who ignores the fears that present themselves? Do you cover it up with distractions and procrastinations? Or are you the sort of person who takes a moment to dissect the fears at hand and approach the issues dead on? When we are feeling down, stressed out, overwhelmed or uninspired, often the results appear in our physical bodies. It shows up as a headache, back pain, weight gain, weight loss, fatigue and more. If fear is the driving factor for all stress, than stress is most likely the root cause of our recurring and chronic symptoms. We've been taught for years to deal with these symptoms through medication prescriptions, pain killers, or physical therapy. Unfortunately the over abundance of prescriptions eventually result in more undesireable symptoms, side effects and addictions. Whats worse, if the cause of the symptom isn't dealt with directly, it will eventually resurface in another form of physical pain. The only true way to handle a symptom is to find the root cause and deal with it at the core. In every challenge of our lives, we are presented with the choice to cover up the pain with a distraction, or face the challenge head on, become the victor, and never look back. Whether dealing with a physical challenge or an emotional one, the key to overcoming the debilitating effects is to bring our emotional, instinctual and spiritual natures into balance and harmony. I am very much looking forward to introducing you to my guest this week, Dr. Peiter DeWet. It is not often that you find a doctor who is willing to take that extra time to search for the root cause of a medical problem rather than easily writing a prescription for it. For Mother's Day this year, what is it you REALLY want? New Trends for a New Generation of Kids What was important to our parents when we were growing up isn't neccessarily a priority for our children. Greetings from my new home! I am a bit late in getting this message out to you because I have been busy moving my family into my dream house. For years we have been busting at the seams of the little condo that my husband and I bought when we were first married. The truth is when we are knee deep in the chaos, and we haven't left room to reflect each day, we get easily jumbled, muddled and cluttered. It becomes difficult to see clearly all that we should be grateful for.   Has this ever happened to you?   The good news is that as our own bosses, we have the luxury of calling ourselves into the big office, patting ourselves on the back for working an obscene amount of overtime, and granting ourselves the day off to take our kids to a theme park.   This is why we became self-employed in the first place. Sure, it is 3 times the amount of work for a fraction of the paycheck, but the freedom to do whatever the heck you want on any given day is PRICELESS.   How often do you take advantage of your role as boss and announce that today will be a "fun day"? If life is a contact sport... just seize the remote. I admit it. I am a disenfranchised companion of a hopeless sports fanatic. Every year during the baseball season and then during football season…and then again during basketball and hockey season, I become a sports widow. My usually amazing, supportive and attentive husband disappears into an alternate universe. He becomes engrossed in our TV and is oblivious to anything occurring outside of the flat screen. He is visually as well as audibly impaired and deprived of common reality. Not only do I lose my husband's mental state to the sports world, I lose him emotionally as well. Suddenly his moods become dependent on how his team performed that day. During the season, my family also gets to witness overly superstitious behavior bordering on OCD. I don't just mean wearing a favorite shirt or chanting a team mantra- I mean the belief that if he doesn't eat the right food or sit in the perfect position- that he personally will have a negative affect on the outcome of the game. Give yourself permission to be the boss of you. Today I had a conversation with my 5 year old about being the boss of himself, and how he shouldn't worry about what everyone else is doing on the kindergarten play yard. Interesting concept, isn't it? All too often we see a clear path to success for others much more than we see for ourselves. I remember when I wasn't the boss of myself... when I had a job working for someone else. Several jobs, actually. Although I didn't know it at the time, I lacked 2 things that I will never take for granted as my own boss again: Freedom and choice. I just came back from an empowering conference called "Woo Hoo Weekend" with Lisa Steadman- where I had the privilege of speaking to a fantastic group of men and women about our choices as parents who are self-employed. For many of us, the desire to become our own boss didn't fully transpire until we became parents. We talked about the physical, mental and emotional transformation that came about once our children became the centerpiece in our lives. No matter how much we had prepared, everything took a detour once baby made 3. In some ways, parenthood gave us more clarity and more self-purpose than we'd ever known, or ever expected to know. In other ways, it presented us with fear, worry and loneliness that would keep us up late to serve our families and our businesses - but rarely ourselves. Now more than ever, there should never be a question how necessary it is that we claim our success and stand up for our smart and savvy selves. No one can travel down your path, hold your actions accountable, or celebrate your story as well as you. You might be holding a magic wand. If you've been following along each week, you have most likely been planting seeds for awhile now. Like the vegetables and flowers in your garden, the seeds need nourishment. Water, sunlight, soil and love. Sounds crazy right? These may be other people's fears, but if you are willing to dig a little deeper, you may discover that you have some irrational fears of your own. The truth is, these are common fears that I have heard from many of the self-employed parents that I talk with and coach. Could it be that you are actually afraid of success? Let's at least be honest about WHY you might posses these fears of success. Once you are able to clearly see what is holding you back, a magic wand will be revealed to you. We are Moms. It's our job to be emotional. Let's take off our business hats and focus on the kids this week. As their caretakers we have made ourselves responsible in virtually everything: Language, manners, safety, resourcefulness, discipline, curiousity, creativity. Empathy. EVERYTHING. (I am exhausted just thinking about it!) No matter what education system you have chosen for your child, it is important that we include the importance of taking risks. In each stage of life, infant to adult, its been proven time and time again that INTELLIGENCE does not always equal success, but CONFIDENCE IN SELF very often does equal success. Therefore, we'll be talking about the importance of growing through neccessary risk taking and encouarging your children to do the same. This is a special week for me personally because my oldest is starting Kindergarten and my youngest is starting Preschool. Its been a very emotional and exciting time for my family. Time. Remember when it was expendable? If you know a child bully, look closer at where they maybe learning their behavior. The apple never falls far from the tree, which is why moms and kids alike are tormented. Bullies tend to flock together, excluding the new mom on the playground, or flat out ignoring the mom who just moved into the area hoping to make some new friends and simply "fit in." While women are capable of such strong friendships and acceptance, they are just as capable of being downright MEAN. This generation of small business owners has a new selling style. Its called "recession selling" and it refers to the way consumers have responded to the unsteadiness in the economy. What kind of seller are you? Does it match the way you think as a consumer? In that 7 months I learned how a great leader leads, the inter-workings of the entertainment Industry, conversed on a daily basis with Hollywood celebrities, television executives and creatives, and best of all - it was the beginning of my growth into a new version of my best self. It was the beginning of my new career as a free thinker, visionary and eventual leader, myself. Thanks to Susan, I began to believe in what I could contribute to my own life as well as with others. We are very affected by the energy of the people who surround us... especially the people who we love most. Like-minded communities must stick together and rely on each other in times of crises. That is why when my friend Sharon Davis contacted me and asked me for my support, I decided to hand my show over to her this Friday so that she could broadcast a very important message. Sharon lives in Fort Bragg, CA, a "sister city" of the newly devastated Otsuchi, Japan, where more than 10,000 residents of the small 16,000 person community are still missing from last week's quake and subsequent tsunami. Sharon is on the committee for the Otsuchi Relief Fund, and is determined to help her sister community rebuild itself. Members of the Fort Bragg Otsuchi Cultural Exchange Association (FBOCEA) have mobilized to create an Otsuchi Relief Fund. The entire community is rallying to raise funds to help the families in Otsuchi who have lost their homes, businesses and their families. WHY AM I HELPING THEM? WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH BEING A PARENT WHO WANTS TO STAY HOME? This is an incredible story and I am always struck with gratitude when I learn of these selfless acts of kindness and altruism. We so often become consumed with the little trials of our own lives that we very easily shut out greater things that are happening in the world- and then we wonder why things are not "going our way." Perhaps its comforting for us to close our eyes to the more substantial and monumental misfortunes, but ignorance has its consequences and knowledge gives us the power to grow. When I lost my job and was thrust into the opportunity to become my own boss (whether I was ready for it or not) it became clear that I needed to take full advantage of the freedoms that had just been handed to me on a silver platter. Unemployed and scared, I learned to embrace my American privileges such as free enterprise and freedom of assembly. Almost immediately upon launching OurMilkMoney.com, it was recommended that I get to know MomsRising.org. I've been an involved advocate ever since. Two (thousand) heads are better than one. I do my best not to share my personal politics on the show because I don't want to run the risk of blowing my cover that I may be on the other side. Especially in this day and age. We've all become so divided and angry. It's gotten brutal out there. Which is why I was incredibly moved to see Congress sitting together as one unit during the President's State of the Union on Tuesday night. We forget how powerful we are when we commit to working together towards a common goal, and we also forget how distracted we allow ourselves to become by focusing on the negative. Our time is precious enough as it is, so why waste it being counter productive? This week, I am going to be talking about the importance of aligning yourself with those who help you to flourish, rather than wither. Sammy is a terrific and shining example of how to keep going even at the worst of times and she'll be diving into her own experiences on Friday. These are the greatest stories to be told and I just had to have Sammy come on TLPSH to share her empowering narrative of all that she overcame to reach her success. With an overcrowded schedule, its hard enough to multi-task our daily tasks. How can we be expected to squeeze in "healthy" time? Besides getting the blood pumping and the brain cells producing, staying active is a terrific way of de-cluttering your mind and piecing together all those fragmented ideas that might otherwise keep you up at night. If you belong to a gym with a daycare-you have even more of a reason to make the trip a weekly priority. How often do new moms get to take a long and uninterrupted shower? The child care alone is worth the price of the monthly membership to your local gym. Put on your headphones and listen to the “Hey I love that song!" CD you just made. As long as we are talking healthy, we might as well dive into the haunting yet crucial reality of childhood obesity. This is one crucial epidemic that every parent should be aware of. One benefit to becoming a stay-at-home parent is how we can better involve ourselves in our children's healthy lifestyles. Wouldn’t it be great if a family of 4 could survive on a single salary like the old days? According to Danny Kofke, its still incredibly possible. When Danny first requested an appearance on This Little Parent Stayed Home, I didn’t expect I’d become so excited. Although I do take several moments to consider all requests, many of them are not neccessarily worthy of our time- or more specifically YOUR time. Danny had my attention from the beginning. I believe what he has to share just might make an enormous difference in some of your lives. He sent me his book How To Survive (and perhaps thrive) On A Teacher’s Salary which clearly laid out in simple terms how hard-working parents can live a wealthy lifestyle despite earning a modest income. This brings up another important point of choosing the appropriate career for yourself. PASSION. A teacher is the lowest paying college degree required profession in the country, which pretty much guarantees that no one chooses to become a teacher for the salary. However, when you are in love with your profession of choice, its not the money that drives you, its the feeling that you are making a difference. DO YOU KNOW THAT FEELING? If not, it is crucial that you make that your next goal. We’ll be discussing it on Friday’s show. Money is cyclical and hollow. Unless you have a direct purpose for it, all the money in the world won’t buy you the motivation to do what you love most. When you are driven by an enthusiasm that comes from deep within and inspires you to make your mark on the world simply by being your best self, it stops being about the money. Aha! And yet that is exactly when we become determined to make enough to survive. It’s what all successful people have in common: a passion for their chosen careers. Whether your passion is to teach, act, or stay home with your kids, encompassing unfeigned joy in your chosen field is the only way to determined your truest prosperity.

What if I told you that you could double or even triple the value of what you have in your bank account right now? You'd would probably think I was selling you something, and I wouldn't blame you for assuming that. The very sentence REEKS of scam. No. I am not selling you anything. (Just my show. And that doesn't cost you a thing.) I am not convinced that I have brought enough people home with the advice I have given, so we are going to dig a little deeper into the nitty gritty. We are going to get way more specific- that is what you need, isn’t it? You need real tools to apply to your own situations. There is nothing at all like much needed time away to help us melt away the stress of our everyday lives. How many times have we lay in a relaxing spot of cleanse and detox, vowing and determined to harness the vacation bliss so that we may carry it with us into our post-vacation lives- only to have it wiped away abrubptly the moment we step into the airport terminal? The peace and serenity seem to fade simultaneously with our suntans... Not this time. I am proud to say that it is 4 days post vacation and I am still basking in the glow of my week at the Jersey Shore where I let eager relatives chase after my kids for once. I spent hours sand sculpting (for a little taste of my work, visit here!), meditating, boogie boarding, eating a ridiculous amount of unhealthy (but necessary) calories from the boardwalk in the form of taffy, fudge, caramel popcorn and drippy cheesy pizza. It was...bliss. And, yes, I brought it back with me. (The bliss as well as the taffy.) So, trust me when I tell you... it is possible. I wanted to take full advantage of this blissful state - because who knew when I would have such an opportunity again? My experiment worked! These fresh, new discoveries of myself were unexpectedly monumental! I realized, without question, the mighty capacity we have as intelligent beings, the healing power of losing ourselves in uncriticized art, the magic of letting our creative juices flow without exposition and how to use it as an anchor when life becomes chaotic and we become jaded. How easy it is for us to forget the importance of clearing away those pesky cobwebs that infest our unrested minds and hearts! Staying in a state of gratitude - even when everything seems to be falling apart- is crucial to our happiness and health. This is the answer! And yet, its so simple. Sound hokey? Yep, I might think so too, if I was reading this. But before you get too comfortable in your cynicism, imagine for a moment the awesomeness of true bliss, and what it would do for you in your every day life. I went into business for myself as a single parent and trust me, I had no change in my pockets. What I did have was motivation. I wanted to be at home to raise my kids. That was all the motivation I needed to keep my nose to the grindstone. I knew what I loved to do and discovered more of who I was along the way. I loved people, writing and teaching. Those were elements of my blue print. I had a knack for communication and an ability to teach anything I learned. Those were my tools. And I was naïve enough to think I could be successful. Thank God! THAT was my investment. These three things were the cornerstones of my home-based business. When it comes to economic development, I believe we’re in the most fruitful period ever. There are more opportunities for self employment now that there have been since before the industrial revolution mechanized society. We’re no longer forced to put our blood, sweat, tears, and gifts into fulfilling someone else’s dream - unless we want to, and that’s okay too. We’re free. We have choices! Where do you stand? Is a dream or desire beckoning your attention? Would you like to spend your life doing something you love? Build your business! There’s no greater professional satisfaction than that of parenting a business from gestation to maturity - and beyond. Are you up to it? What have you got to lose? Answering that last question will probably require more personal strength than any other leg of your journey, so be sure to examine closely before you answer. What Have You Got To Lose? Many will answer, “Well, I have a lot to lose; time, money, ambition… and what if I fail?” My answer is this: In order to be successful with anything you do, be willing to set all of these concerns aside. Muster the courage to try something new; to put your ideas into action. Ascribe to the belief that,”It’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” (Who said that?) In our case, “It’s better to have given it all you’ve got and failed than never to have tried.” (This one’s mine.) You’ve got a dream, you go for it. Do your homework. Look for everything you need to support you in workin’ it baby! Find a mentor; join a networking group. Ask for support! OurMilkMoney.com is a great place to start. If you have money, spend it wisely. If you don’t, look for free resources. They’re out there. Google alone has several things that will support your new venture. Begin taking steps in the direction of your dreams. Do something, anything! You will set yourself up for some level of success. If you fail - find another way. Failure is feedback. It says, “Try another path.” That’s all. Just do it differently next time. Ask Thomas Edison, who tried over 14,000 times before he invented the light bulb. Ask Colonel Sanders (KFC) who shopped his recipe of eleven herbs and spices 1008 times before he got a bite (pardon the pun). They didn’t quit and neither should you.

We could all use a little faith, regardless of what size or shape it may appear in to you. Whether you are transitioning into becoming a work-at-home parent, or you've recently become the victim of a lost job, you may be looking for some kind of sign that its all going to be okay. For many of us, these unforeseen circumstances have resulted in the choice to create our own employment, but this has proven to be no easy task. We are burning the midnight oil with research, marketing, website design, job applications, and more. We are watching our bank accounts disappear, our homes get foreclosed, and our confidence slip away. Its no wonder we feel cynical, doubtful, frightened, confused and alone. We are bombarded with mixed messages from every form of media, we are working blindly in a dark tunnel without a hint of light in any direction that tells us which way to walk, and we can't help but wonder how much longer we'll be able to survive without any answers. We are missing an important ingredient. Faith. When I met Reverend Hilde Brooks*, I was looking for spirituality but lacking hope. It was Hilde that showed me that faith can come in all shapes and sizes. Raised Jewish but married to a Catholic, and determined to find a compromise that made sense to both of us, we'd just about given up on our search after being turned off too many times finding everything too organized or rigid. But Hilde led a different kind of sermon. It didn't seem to matter what preconceived notions we carried with us as her teachings didn't attach itself to any one denomination over another. Her sermons brought meaning and purpose in a world full of chaos, optimism and conviction out of hardship, and faith when life was most challenging. As you know, I tend to get very personal on This Little Parent Stayed Home and I love to share the things that have played a significant role in my own journey. I want to share Reverend Hilde*. I am honored to have her join us this week and I am confident that you will come away from Friday's show with at least a little more faith and the belief that it will all be okay.

Not every parent feels that their ideal situation is to be home with their children... ... and there is nothing wrong with that. Period. Show #11: Super Spousal Support: Becoming the Ultimate Mom/Dad Team when Bringing One of You Home. Things are changing rapidly all around us, and that might be a bit confusing for some, but do not mistake it as a bad thing. Vulnerability and uncertainty are only opportunities to confront our fears head on. You are not in this alone. Whether you know it or not, you are surrounded by others who are like-minded, just as passionate, and just as willing to step into new, never before seen territory for the chance at spending as much of this lifetime as possible with their families. Besides, you aren't alone. You have your family- the very thing that you are fighting for! There is some good stuff here. This new generation of parents encompasses the greatest amount of equality in history thus far, and I don't see anyone laying down and declaring a victory just yet. There is still more unity to achieve! More sacrifices to be made! More understandings to be shared! More awareness to be mastered! There are men that still feel the financial burden of providing for their families on their single income, as their fathers did before them. Unfortunately this is not possible for the majority, so its been an incredibly difficult adjustment for them. There are women who once fought to take control of their financial destiny by proving to the corporate world that they are just as significant and impactful, but very few expected the maternal instinct to kick in with such industrial fervor, transforming every priority they'd ever known in their lives the moment they held their new baby in their arms. Everything has changed. All of a sudden, these men have become dads, and the women have become moms. As caretakers, we have a little more understanding of one another, and have become a little less divided. In this new world, we have all had to redefine our gender roles as they relate to the family, and recreate a new set of rules geared towards our financial survival. This revolutionary time can be just as liberating for the men as it is for the women. Make no mistake, the most successful work-at-home moms are the ones that have the most supportive husbands rooting them on, fighting to be a part of your mission and adjusting to each new set of rules that gets thrown their way. I know this because I happen to have one of my own. I wouldn't have known where to begin any part of this journey without my husband, the most loyal friend I have ever known. Adjusting to this new way of life hasn't exactly been a walk in the park for him, and he'll tell you exactly that, I am sure. Do we dare talk politics even at an attempt to stay neutral? Is it even possible right now? There are heated disputes and vicious bickerings all around us. Arrows are being flung back and forth between friends and family members on Facebook, Twitter has become a mass of short and sweet cheap shots, and it is all at the ironic expense of our nation’s health (pun intended). Most American’s have not even read the health care reform bill, and yet they have no problem delivering their arrogant and uninformed “expertise”. (I admit, I am one of them.) Given the acrimonious state of the people on BOTH sides, you may think its not possible to discuss government or policy in a neutral way…but I’d like to try. It’s important that we learn what the bill is about before scratching each other’s eyes out…and maybe, just maybe…we’ll lose the desire to grapple once we realize…we are not nearly as divided as we thought. *Julianne Wish may not be of the same political affiliation as myself, but we are friends and colleagues who have at least one shared goal: Becoming more united as parents and entrepreneurs, becoming less divided in the political arena, and striving to gain as much real information as we can to obtain a true understanding of our current situation and what it might mean for our future. (Er, make that 3 shared goals). We are both passionate advocates for parents and their children. So, if our goals are truly the same, its just a matter of finding the best way to get there. It is my hope that we’ll have such a productive discussion that we’ll be showing D.C. how it should be done. I have invited Julianne, who is one of the few people I know to have actually read the bill, to speak with us about the newly passed legislation, and help us to see how it will affect us personally, our families and our small businesses. There will be no battling or battering, and we will keep our personal opinions out. I believe that the broken economy is actually an opportunity for us to rebuild it in a way that works for us rather than against us, and as a result of so many lost jobs over the past 2 years, self-employment has risen more than 20%. So as part of my mission, I support these parent-run businesses by making as many purchases from them as I possibly can...and changing my purchasing behaviors.... so that I am not spending anymore money that I was in the past...And yes, I do purchase some of these products from parents who run a direct sales business out of their home, and I have no problem listing them on the OurMilkMoney.com business directory. Why would I have a problem with it? If its a good product, and similar in price to a product I've purchased from a megastore, I'll switch over. And in most cases I’ve been pretty satisfied with the level of customer service, the price and with the product itself. So, I don't care if it came from an MLM or a private source... if my money goes directly to the parent... then it is within my mission. However, I do have to draw the line somewhere, and in a lot of cases, I have not been happy with the products, some were over priced, for some it was set up in a way where you have to buy a certain amount each month and your credit card will automatically be charged and new product sent to you whether you are ready for it or not, membership fees...all issues that are debatable, and I know there are 2 sides to everything...but the biggest issue I have about businesses such as these is that it often has very little to do with the product itself. For some people, it’s obvious that the real goal is not to introduce you to the products, or to build a real client/consumer relationship… for some, it’s all about selling the opportunity… and you can smell it a mile away. It’s offensive, especially when someone asks me to buy into their opportunity and there is obviously no regard for the fact that I am already a business owner with a mission of my own. In these cases in becomes clear to me that they are not making very much money on selling me the products and the real incentive is for them to get as many people as they can to sell the products FOR them so that they can earn a residual income. the stigma is this...everyone wants to get money for free. I sure would. But it’s not really ethical. It feels like stealing. I am not saying that it is...but when something is described to me as this” I barely have to do anything! The money just comes pouring in…” that is when my red flag goes up.   Now the reason I wanted to talk about this today is because I sincerely want to help the situation. I see so many good honest people, and strong passionate parents buy into these opportunities and fail...and I’d like to see less of that happen. I want to see parents who have chosen to stay home succeed. But in many cases it seems like the businesses that they buy into are full of empty promises, or they weren’t upfront about the type of work that it would involve, or the incentives are set up to recruit people rather than sell products and services to people. It’s as if many of these businesses are preventing its own success by the way it is being approached. You have just started your own business, and there is 3 times the amount of work that you expected, you have 2 kids under the age of 3, a mortgage that isn’t getting any smaller, a household to run… and only 12 hours in a day…. How are you supposed to handle all of this without going insane? Please don’t call me “Supermom” I don’t have any super powers, and I certainly have a breaking point just like the rest of the world. There is a misconception among work-at-home parents that we have to do it all, and have it done YESTERDAY. The more moms and dads I speak to, the more I realize we are all very similar. Parents today are simply amazing- but then again we HAVE to be. Of the parents that I know that are working full time- or even part time- and raising a family and a household, none of them are doing it just because it’s fun for them, or because they were looking to do MORE in their lives. Most of us are doing it because it’s what is necessary for our families to survive in today’s world. Our families need us to try and bring in a supplemental income because one income is not enough. Not even those with college degrees and higher educations are able to provide for their families on one income. It’s not their fault, and we certainly don’t blame them. It’s just the way it is. Before you choose to let someone who seems to be able to do it all overawe you and minimize what you know you are capable of doing, LOOK CLOSER. If there are days that you feel you are barely staying afloat, take a moment and look at the others in your very same pool treading water. Perhaps they are looking at YOU and wondering how you got YOUR superpowers. Pat yourself on the back, because you have accomplished something today. Small businesses run by parents have exploded in the last 2 years, and there are a ton of books and websites popping up all over the place on the subject. But the thing that sets This Little Parent Stayed Home apart from the rest is that it speaks to ALL parents, and both genders. I don’t mean to criticize the motivational movements that are empowering women, but very often it seems as though it is done in a way that puts blame on the men. In fact, every where I look there are groups that aim to empower and inspire, but they end up counter actively segregating themselves with mass amounts of finger pointing and blaming some other group. There is division everywhere we look. It begs for us to examine more closely if we are really as divided as we think we are. We’ll be celebrating the fathers who are staying at home while the mothers go earn the larger salary, and exploring all the ways that families can work together to bring one parent home. I am constantly amazed at the parents that I meet on the OurMilkMoney.com business directory.
