For Mother's Day this year, what is it you REALLY want?
If you are like most work-at-home moms I know, a relaxing day off with no responsibility for anyone other than yourself might sound like just the thing. But what would make it even more precious would be the ability to sustain that rejuvenation the other 364 days of the year.
For me, that gift is knowing that my hard work and determination has a pay-off. Otherwise what is the point? Working at home is like taking on a double career for half the pay- and only some of us will actually see results in our income. Those odds are not very reassuring.
So why do we keep at it? Because we love and care for our families and are determined to provide for them. Because we want to share ourselves with them as mothers and caretakers. Because we don't see any other way.
The truth is, as parents, our time is VALUABLE and oh-so sparse. Focused work time without interruption is as scarce as hens’ teeth, so what little we have, we need to invest wisely. If you are not seeing the results you want, its time to re-evalute what you are doing with your precious time. What if I told you that I could give you the tools that would ensure you would see massive pay off this year?
Happy Mother's Day. You're welcome.
Most of the time its not about working HARD, its about working smart and strategically. I learned this and many more lessons 1 year ago at Tory Johnson's Spark and Hustle. This week I was reminded of where I was a year ago, and the clarity I received after I attending the game changing event. I can't wait to revisit this with you on the show this week. I am fired up and ready to rock it at the next level. If you want to come with me to Spark and Hustle in LA, connect with my people at an event in a city near you, or if you need to talk it out with someone who will give it to your straight ... write to me personally and we'll talk about it together. Pushing throught my skepticism was a defining moment for me. It started me on a path that has led to everything I am accomplishing today. Give yourself what you truly want this Mother's Day. You deserve it. This Week's Guest

Back from the Blast!
Last week's show was a hoot, wasn't it? It was exactly what I needed to let loose and feel more connected to my inner geek. Sometimes its neccessary to deviate from course a bit and shake things up. Thank you so much for your wonderful letters and participation!
Melissa M. writes:
"I needed this! It not only gave me reason to get out there and hit the gym, it gave me permission to enjoy listening to music that is mine."
Amanda P. says:
"That was truly hilarious! Ally, I have been waiting for you to break out that singing voice of yours. That was the most fun I've ever had listening to your show."
Mendy G. says:
"I was listening to your podcast and DYING!
I ALSO have Rent on my music playlist
I'm a huge Broadway playlist nerd..."

Me? Work out? You must be joking. Do I look like someone who likes to sweat?
It was as though I had an allergic reaction to fitness- for most of my life. Joining a gym seemed like the dumbest idea and the biggest waste of money. EVER. Unless there were Broadway show tunes playing and I had my tap shoes on, I didn't like being active. AT ALL.
Running or even walking on a treadmill was pure torture for me. I'd heard people talk about the endorphin rush they got when working out, but I was sure it was a myth.
Then one day I became one of them... a fitness junkie. It started with the desire to have an uninterrupted shower - ("you mean, I can put the kids in the gym daycare and just...shower?") and then I made a deal with myself that I could only shower if I had walked for 10 minutes on the treadmill. It wasn't long before I was enjoying my 1 hour workout SO MUCH, that I was actually sad to have to end my time at the gym.
Yep. All true. Not a myth. I drank the Kool Aide.
This week. I am going to share with you my secrets to incorporating (and loving it) fitness into our stay-at-home routines- especially as a busy career mom who barely has time to brush her own hair. You will thank me for this one.
This week, tune in to learn:
-->Why my gym membership is the best investment I've made in my Home Business
-->How I went from HATING the work-out to loving it.
--> My "guilty pleasure" song list that is guaranteed to make you want to keep moving effortlessly!
--> How to take advantage of all of the benefits of the gym. Everything from cheap child care, to free wi-fi.
--> How to MELT away aches and pains with a self-treatment technique invented to bring youthfulness back to tired, aging bodies.
This week, our special guest is my favorite fitness instructor, Gloria Stewart. There is so much to love about Gloria. She's fun, knowledgable and cutting edge! I became instantly addicted to her M.E.L.T. classes and couldn't wait to introduce her!
What is M.E.L.T?
The M.E.L.T. Method® (MELT) is a self-treatment technique that helps prevent pain, heal injury, and erase the negative effects of aging and active living. MELT simulates the hands-on techniques that Gloria Stewart uses to eliminate stress, pain, and dysfunction in her MELT classes. This unique Hands-off Bodywork™ approach is the first treatment that simulates the techniques – and the results – of manual therapy.
MELT is the first neurofascial technique. This patent-pending method brings your body back to a more ideal state by directly enhancing body awareness, rehydrating connective tissue, and quieting the nervous system. The first time you MELT, you see and feel a difference – and over time, you can transform how your body looks and feels.
MELT is changing the way people care for their bodies. This proactive approach to maintaining a healthy, pain-free, active lifestyle is the best solution for living longer…better.
Friday, we're going to MELT!!

This week, I will be introducing you to one of the most heroic and intrepid women I've had the pleasure of meeting, a bright beacon of light for so many, Chrissy Harmon. From the moment I read her intense and undisguised encounter of what happened to her that night, I became truly encaptured by her ability to find strength within herself for the sake of her children and her powerful voice to tell it to the world. It is adverse experiences like this one that are used to create world-wide movements. I felt her power in every word that was written. She is revolutionary. She is influential. She is a mother who is driven by the love of her children and a vision for something better for herself and for all of us.
On Friday, I am going to help Chrissy tell her story. We'll also be learning a little more about Clueberry World and why the creation of it is such a miracle in the midst of her treacherous marriage. I want everyone to know just how special Chrissy Harmon is. Not because she was a victim of domestic violence, but because of how she is making her mark on the world with all that she has, and all that has molded her. It is hard not to wonder if it was all meant to happen because of her gifted voice. Someone had to tell this story. Its an all too common story, but it needed a voice as powerful and tender as Chrissy's. Chrissy Harmon is a leader...much more than she is a victim. She has embraced her role in this world, and now we all have the great priviledge to learn from her.

Make the world a better place and get paid to do so.
If there is one thing that inspires me, it is seeing a mom who had an idea that would make the world just a little brighter, a little more colorful, and a little more cheerful. Pair that with a mom who needs to create a source of revenue that allows her the option of making her family her number one priority and she's got herself a DREAM JOB.
Wouldn't you love to find out how she did it?
Say Please was started by life-long friends and fellow moms Judi Willard and Mary Fuller, because they were tired of seeing products being peddled for kids and adults with messages like: "My favorite accessory is my dad’s credit card", ‘‘Boys are stupid", or “I’m a Biotch.”
They decided to create a company that produced greeting cards, clothing and other accessories that featured positive messages, but in a hip and humorous way.
Any time you venture into a brand-new-never-done-before-creative business idea, it takes intense vision, blind risk ...and a whole lot of drive - the kind that might cause other people to call you crazy. No part of this is easy. Yet, mom product inventors like Judi Willard have defied odds, hurdles and adversity to successfully bring their bright ideas to stores like Pottery Barn, Toys R Us and Michaels.
Positive words can change someone's day, a life, and eventually the world.
This week I'll be bringing on Judi Willard a licensed psychotherapist who was able to use her talent, education, and passion to come up with a terrific product that helps parents to connect with their kids through upbeat phrases and sentiments that, quite simply, make kids feel great.
Its a feel good kind of show jam packed with inspiration!

It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.
What does real estate have to do with building a career from home? Well since you asked...
When you become a work-at-home parent, your home becomes more than just a place to raise your family. It becomes your office, your sanctuary and in some cases, a potential for earning investment income that could help to fund your business. Your home ownership situation could be an imposition or an advantage depending on the amount of knowledge that you have.
More than half of the country’s population owns a home, so understanding the current housing market could be critical to your game.
The amount of foreclosures and short sales are at an all time high. If you have been forced into one of these situations, you will be looking to get back into the housing market at the most appropriate time. How do you know when the time is right?
Having the right information about the housing trends will guide you to when you can buy again as well as help you see the big picture on growing your business and providing for your family. Planning and development are a multi-tasking mom's secret ingredients.
The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.

This week I will be bringing on my good friend and personal real estate guru, Brian Melville. I asked Brian to be my guest this Friday for so many reasons. Not only is he one of the most knowledgeable real estate experts in his industry, I have watched him drive his personal career and thrive no matter what the industry trends suggested. His perseverance and tenacity for his field has remained unwavered. We could all use a little lesson on how to be the last one standing when the competition throws in the towel.
On Friday we are going to talk about STAYING POWER and how to leverage your current situation into reaching your desired results in record breaking time.

This Friday we will celebrate 100 episodes of This Little Parent Stayed Home together.
We've come a long way baby! The best way to celebrate it is to look back, reflect on our journey and get ready for 100 more.
Want to know what I have planned for this week?
Not a darn thing.
I've been told by my darling producer, Kelly St. Clair, that I need to sit back, relax, and trust that the show will just "be there" for me as I have for everyone else. What fun!
I am looking forward to being pleasantly surprised! It's going to be an EXCELLENT Friday!

I am hosting the GREATEST Event of the year and YOU are invited to be my guest!
You've heard me talk about how Spark & Hustle transformed me last year. You may have even watched as I've grown my own business and brand into something extraordinary. It all started when I attended Spark & Hustle. It is almost disturbing to think that there was actually a time when I had considered NOT ATTENDING. I had a million excuses...
It's too expensive....
I am too busy with the kids...
There will be too much work waiting for me when I get back...
It's too hard to find a sitter I trust...
I might not like my roommate...
I won't learn anything I don't already know...
I don't have anything to wear...
I need to stay focused on the new diet I just started...
REALLY???
Seriously. I was looking for any excuse not to attend. The truth? I was afraid.
Ever feel like this?
I had been working my tush off for 4 years without any significant results. I was tired, I was spread thin, I was sick of my hard work not paying off. I didn't know if I could attend one more conference or invest in one more "promise" that would ulitimately disappoint.
Tory Johnson promised me it would all change if I went to Spark & Hustle.
She delivered.
I came home from Spark & Hustle completely transformed and clear on my intentions to excel in everything I was doing.
In exactly 1 year since that magical weekend, this is what I've accomplished:
I landed a Literary Agent and launched The Home Free Thrive Guide & Audio Series.
I turned my initial listenership of only 800 into nearly 20,000! (and still growing!)
I landed sponsors for my radio show, enough to pay for the production in full and then some!
I grew the OurMilkMoney.com database by 1200%.
I began coaching, raised my rates beyond what I ever considered I could be worth, and booked up so many time slots I had to create a waitlist for new clients!
I moved my family out of out teeny tiny condo and into our dream home!
I became a sought after and PAID public speaker! A DREAM come true.
It's been a great year and I have only just begun.
This Friday I am thrilled and honored to have the amazing Tory Johnson join us on the show. If you know her, you are most likely already positively affected by her. A woman with so much impact on the global women's movement, a creative force that inspires new talent and booming business concepts, and a true source of inspiration for so many. This is an interview you will not want to miss.

Unemployment might be the best thing that ever happened to you.
We have all heard these stories from some of the most successful people in the world. Their journey almost always starts off with unexpected loss, sickness or misfortune.
I lost my job....
My house was foreclosed...
I was diagnosed with a life altering illness....
I went through a horrible divorce...
Dare I say it? Is it possible that hardships and losses have something to do with success and properity?
Yes it does....that is, if you have the perspective to make your stumbling blocks into building blocks.
Listen for the Cha-Ching in your Challenges
This week I will be bringing on a good friend and terrific public speaker, Alan Sherwood, a fellow Toginet host of the increasingly popular weekly show, Successfully Unemployed. Alan will be joining me on the show this week to help answer some of the most critical questions about how to find stable and fulfilling employment. Together we will be talking about his valuable threefold perspective that can provide a means to a faster and more fulfilling end...no matter what the setback.
Tune in this week to learn:
--->How to turn your unemployment into abundant self-employment
--->The benefits of owning a home-based business
--->How to make use of transferable skills from your previous jobs
--->How to transition from being an employee to starting your own home-based business
--->Why networking is important even before you start your own business
...and more!

Choose to Live in a World of Progress and Forward Motion
Want the life you are in.
Easier said than done... or is it? Some people make it look so effortless. The truth is that it can become effortless once you have made a habit out of it. Ahhhh, yes. Creating a new habit is where you might be getting hung up.
If getting a new perspective is all you need, that means its time to declutter your current perception of things. You must train yourself. Letting go of limited beliefs simply requires re-training and refining. All too often we become trapped by misconceptions that our destiny is determined by some acutely misterable incidents that life throws our way.
...unless you choose to believe that these "incidents" are disguised as something else. Blessings? Opportunities? Lessons?
Use your creative force to thrive on these endeavors.
We can't be afriad to trust that we possess a powerful spirit - the same spirit that helped us to create and nurture our children. We can use this empowered spirit to help us apply for a business loan, quit our day jobs to work for ourselves, or call up an intimidating client to close the deal. To deny this spirit would be almost as bad as settling for mediocrity. You don't want that for your children, so why accept that for yourself?
Let go of limiting beliefs and you will acheive a better perspective in all you do.
If you are truly ready to be in a better reality, you must be willing to see things differenty than in the past. Negative illusions might be holding you back from knowing that it is a grand thing just to be alive. More than that, it could be preventing you from broadcasting a powerful message to the world that only you were meant to deliver. If you are truly ready to become a pioneer, than you must be willing to invest more into your creative core. Dare to stand before the Universe when it presents you with a challenge and ask, "Is that all ya got?"
My guest this week is... you.
I will be opening up the phone lines to address any challenges you may be facing in your business, your family or your personal life. If you would like to join us with a challenging question of your own, book your FREE COACHING SPOT NOW or if you are unable to call in live, but would like to have a challenge addressed on the air please FILL OUT THIS FORM.

New Trends for a New Generation of Kids
What was important to our parents when we were growing up isn't neccessarily a priority for our children. For example, learning and retaining information has become less important as a life skill because information is instantly and freely available via the web. IT skills are less valued as devices become so much more intuitive to use. The newer skills which we need to teach now are more self-developmental.
Children should understand the power of teamwork, the real value of sharing and the deep fulfilment that comes from making a contribution to the world. These same skills that are taught to us as adults to help us improve our home lives and create success at work can be applied when raising our children. As entrepreneurs in business we already know the importance of acting on our ideas, creating our own opportunitiesand taking balanced risks. These are the exact same qualities our children need to be successful 'entrepreneurs of life'.
Why wait until we reach adulthood to learn attitudes that will lead to a more successful life?
As parents, we desire for our children to grow up with confidence and self-belief. We aim to help them understand that they control their own destiny and that they can determine the life they ultimately live. Just as we have come to learn in adulthood, our children can be taught that if they set a goal and work towards it with planning and determination then it will happen.
Take action now.
Imagine the power of starting this journey of self development in the early years. How much more prepared for the turmoil of teenage years might your children be if they have the right attitudes to start with? Our children's early years pass quickly - just ask any parent with kids in college. The best time to provide them with strong foundations for life is between birth and 11 years. Once they are into their teens their lives become more complex and our ability to influence them has significantly diminished.
Joining us as a guest this week is David Machin, a visionary with an important mission for children and the parents who raise them. On Friday we will be talking about what the future has in store for our kids, defining new opportunities for them and how new discoveries in science and technology are paving the way for the next generation of world leaders.

You want to be your own boss, but do you see yourself as an expert?
Packaging your expertise won't be easy if you don't have a clear perspective of the package you are already in. How you share your message with the world will determine how you are able to truly monetize your work/life experiences and it starts with what you are already projecting.
If u hav tIpos n missppellins in ur soshal medea n email corresspondance, you might be conveying a misperception about your capabilities and who you really are.
Build your Expert Empire.
Are you discounting your knowledge and your expertise? If you don't believe it, you can't expect others to believe it either. Unfortunately we can't just snap our fingers and magically acheive the ideal confidence level that we need to run our business with ease and impact... or can we?
Fake it until you make it.
Feel like a fraud? It's what the top leaders in your industry have been doing for years. Start by dressing the part, portraying the professional you aim to be and embodying the persona of an expert in your chosen feild.
The secret to social self-confidence is to know and understand the rules of social engagement before you’re in the middle of an uncomfortable situation. In a simple sense, when you know which fork to use — you are liberated. It works the same way with small talk, introductions, eye contact, and “The Perfect Hand Shake”.
Take a quick lesson in etiquette.
Joining us as a guest this week is Patricia Rossi, the author of the book Everyday Etiquette: How To Navigate 101 Common and Uncommon Social Situations. This week we will be diving into some of the most common traditional etiquette guidelines and those that are relevant to our technologically-oriented society of today.
This is the framework for basic kindness, authentic confidence and overall better personal and business relationships.

What are you willing to give up?
If you are still daydreaming about leaving your corporate day job to:
a) stay home with your kids
b) be your own boss
c) have more freedom
or
d) all of the above
Why haven't you made that leap?
Are you...
... scared that you will not find a comparable income to the one that you are currently making?
... scared of losing your current lifestyle?
... scared that you won't be able to pay the bills?
... scared that you are not capable of being your own boss?
... just plain scared?
Doers are daring.
As scary as it may be, there comes a point where you must ask yourself what sacrifices you are willing to make in order to inspire change.
Last week I did a live broadcast from my dream home for the first time. If you listened in, you know how happy I have been. I feel proud because I know how hard my husband and I have worked to earn this. However this house didn't just fall into our laps as a result of our hard work. We still had to take action to obtain our dream home. Although that may be obvious, I've seen people for years yearn for something that they had not created an intended action for.
You can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket.
This doesn't mean that purchasing a lottery ticket is the best way to earn an income. However it's just as silly to sit there and hope that you win if you never bought a ticket to begin with.
Make a game plan and start playing.
Joining us as a guest this week is my good friend, Stirling Gardner. He is an actor in Hollywood who has been supporting his dream by freelancing as a blogger and living in one of the most expensive cities in the country RENT FREE. I asked him to join us on the show this week so he could tell you exactly how he did it. These tips and more will revealed this Friday!
Friday 3rd of February 2012
Greetings from my new home! I am a bit late in getting this message out to you because I have been busy moving my family into my dream house. For years we have been busting at the seams of the little condo that my husband and I bought when we were first married. Since becoming a growing family of four we have been striving to afford a bigger place. Job losses for both of us as well as the declining real estate market meant that we were destined to stay trapped for years in that tiny condo box for years. At times it felt hopeless, but we didn't give up.
We have finally arrived.
As laborious and demanding as the journey was, I now feel as if I am standing on the top of Mt. Everest. I barely remember the turmoil and tears that got us here. All I can feel right now is pure gratification...and a little bit of shock that I actually made it.
I can't wait to talk more about my journey with you on Friday! Will you celebrate with me?
There is more to celebrate...
Several of my friends this year have been nominated for Oscars. Crazy right? That heavy gold statuette that only America's Royalty have had the honor of clutching in their perfectly manicured hands? Not the people I know. These are true stories of everyday ordinary folks like you and me who have risen to the top with passion, tenacity, and a whole lot of drive. We have the great opportunity to learn from their journey.
We have one of the biggest giveaways ever this week!
Joining us as a guest this week is Jacqueline Green, the founder of The Great Parenting Show...and wait until you see what she is giving away!!

What is the
SPARKLE EFFECT?
Much like the butterfly that has the ability to alter the weather with a simple flap of its wings, we have the power to create change...within ourselves, in the children we raise, in the businesses we build, and in the world we live in. It all starts with a simple mindshift.
The Sparkle Effect is a lot like the Butterfly Effect... only fancier.
Last week I talked about a profound experience I'd gotten fully engrossed in, and how amidst a busy schedule I'd found myself reaching out to a complete stranger who was in the process of breaking out of a voilent and abusive marriage and rebuilding a new life for herself and her 3 children. Learning about Chrissy Harmon's brush with death after being beaten by her husband rocked my core, had me up until 3am desperately trying to track her down, and ultimately landed her a possible opportunity to get massive support through a reality series on OWN TV. Listen to last week's show now--->.
There is no better way for us to break out of our entitlement attitudes than to see someone who might not have it so easy.
As parents and business people, we can't help but want to leave our mark on the world. Often, we become so busy we don't stop to notice how much we are already making a difference.
Are you aware of you sphere of influence?
When you blog, do you think about who might be affected by your words? When you post a simple facebook status update or send out a tweet, do you give much thought to the impact you may be having on a single person who may be browsing several months after you posted?
This week, please welcome Kristi Lynn Olson, an Entrepreneur Success Strategist for Women. If you are tired of being invisible and insignificant, and ready to share your unique gifts and talents with the world- you'll want to get to know Kristi. An expert in helping women unlock their true sparkle and discover their purpose, Kristi will be joining us Friday to share tips and tricks that will be sure to get you noticed.

What should a busy overworked mom dovwhen she is most overwhelmed? Blow everything off and go to Disneyland.
And that is exactly what I will be doing tomorrow.
Why?
BECAUSE I CAN.
I admit it. That overworked and overloaded mom lately is me. Ever since my rocket touched the 2012 atmosphere, my business and my family life has hit warp speed. My schedule is booked with private coaching until March, the kids are operating with a new level of nutty energy (as they are most likely ready to get back to school), and since we are busting out of the teeny little condo that my husband and I bought when we were first married, we have decided to sell it and look for a bigger place.
There is nothing drastic, dire or tragic here. In fact, everything that is occuring is due to growth, expansion, and prosperity - all things to be grateful for.
WOW...is this fortunate and privileged mom really... complaining? The truth is when we are knee deep in the chaos, and we haven't left room to reflect each day, we get easily jumbled, muddled and cluttered. It becomes difficult to see clearly all that we should be grateful for.
Has this ever happened to you?
The good news is that as our own bosses, we have the luxury of calling ourselves into the big office, patting ourselves on the back for working an obscene amount of overtime, and granting ourselves the day off to take our kids to a theme park.
This is why we became self-employed in the first place. Sure, it is 3 times the amount of work for a fraction of the paycheck, but the freedom to do whatever the heck you want on any given day is PRICELESS.
How often do you take advantage of your role as boss and announce that today will be a "fun day"? I'll tell ya, nothing is more freeing as a work-at-home-mom-o-holic.
I will be back from the Happiest Place On Earth this Friday, just in time to introduce you to my friend and guest of the hour, Dawn Billings. Now there is a lady who knows how to put the fun in her step. I've never met anyone with such vision for the unconquered. Dawn is a big dreamer, but more importantly, she is a big DOER.
Enjoy the rest of your week. Friday will be a great day
Friday 6th of January 2012
How different would your day-to-day be if you never had to nag your kids again?
What a happy 2012 it would be!
I hope that you had a wonderful holiday celebration with your families! My greatest wish is that you gifted yourself with some much needed YOU time before the year ended. There is nothing better than to hit the ground running with intense enthusiasm for a bright new year after being completely refreshed from a relaxing holiday. Are you laughing yet?
The reality is that the holidays can be pretty stressful for everyone - especially for parents, and even more so for those who have chosen to stay at home. Somehow we manage to become more run down from our vacations than from our double careers. You wouldn't be alone if you found yourself secretly counting the seconds before the kids return to their school schedules. Does this sound a bit more familiar?
What if I told you that I had a gift for you that would make your job as a parent a whole lot easier? Imagine being rid of daily annoyances like toddler melt-downs, sibling rivalry and nagging to get your children to do their chores. Wouldn't that make your life a lot less hectic and a lot more productive? Imagine what you could do with all of that stress-free and unflustered time!
That is why I am truly over the moon to be introducing you to our guest this Friday, Amy McCready, Founder of Positive Parenting Solutions and an expert who has appeared on Today and The Rachael Ray Show, among many others.
I had the priviledge of reading her book over my holiday vacation, called "If I Have to Tell You One More Time..." The Revolutionary Program That Gets Your Kids to Listen Without Nagging, Reminding or Yelling.
Believe me when I tell you- I have been blown away by the affects of these incredible tools that get your kids to listen. If it worked on my strong-willed little devils, it will work on yours! Simple and concise, this strategy is for every parent looking to raise respectful, well-behaved, and well-adjusted children, whether dealing with a willful two-year old or a power-seeking twelve year old.

It's my birthday, and I am coming out.
Nope, I am not gay.
But like those who are, the best way to embrace your unique value with dignity and self love is to make the most important purchase of your life and own the rights to your personal truth. My friend, Rick Clemons, known as "The Coming Out Coach" taught me that, and he joins us on this special show.
As you know, I am on a mission to bring home 1 million parents.
I have been incredibly focused on this bold endeavor which has delightfully led me to connecting with compassionate and purposeful parents like you across the world. I have been hell-bent on helping you to claim your freedom so that you are able to adequately parent, provide and nurture your families, as well as yourselves, on your own terms.
While deep in our determination to achieve what we have set out to accomplish, it is easy to lose track of our core intuitions... and I am no exception. This very often happens to the best of us when we become fearful of taking risks or, as in my case, taking firm stances on issues that are immensely important to us and those we love.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I have decided to celebrate it with you by talking freely on topics that I have held back on in the past. My birthday wish is that you will join me with love, compassion, and an open heart.
Join me in reaching new heights of clarity as we celebrate all that makes us singularly remarkable, and honor our personal enthusiasm for who we are- without apology.

SEX is not a dirty word.
As you probably have already guessed, we are going to get into some juicy conversations this Friday. So often we tip toe around topics like pleasure and passion...and as a result we may be denying ourselves abundant wealth, health and quality of life. Yep, sex is a necessary topic. The word has gotten a bad rap over the last several decades and yet it is one of the most natural ways to boost health and stamina, increase immunity, creativity and productivity as well as earn a better income. So if you want to put the sexy back into your business (as well as the bedroom) you won't want to miss Friday's show!
WHAT? SEX can help me grow my business?
Yes, absolutely. Ever hear of Oxytocin? Known as the "love hormone", it helps women to love, bond and call upon their most creative channels. So wouldn't it make sense to take full advantage of... this natural hormone when we are experiencing disconnect with ourselves, our partners, and even our businesses?
Has This Little Parent Stayed Home gone ... porn??
Not at all. But we won't hold back on sharing any relevant topic with you. This week I am going to bring on my friend, Bonnie Gayle, the inventor of a product called Sex Butter. You won't want to miss her incredible story of how she found success with a product that so many people shied away from.

We have a terrific guest joining us, stand up comedian, author and public personality, Stefanie Wilder-Taylor
In addition, I will be welcoming a new host on Toginet Radio, Judy Schriener, an award winning journalist and a first rate interviewer. I know I am looking forward to getting a few lessons from her!

Wouldn't it be nice to wake up every day with boundless energy and vitality?
Its a common problem among hard working moms. We give the best of ourselves to our children, our marriages, our homes, our businesses and maybe...just maybe... if there is time... we'll give something back to ourselves.
We know its backwards.
We know its not healthy.
We know this behavior will eventually come back to haunt us, but its a trap we fall into time and time again.
Stop the madness and recapture your magnificence!
Its time to practice new habits and take preventative measures. Learn to put yourself first and as a result create optimum health and well-being for yourself as well as your children. Because lets face it- when Mom is feeling good, everyone gets to reap the rewards.
This week we'll be talking about how to amp up your vitality and your vavoom! Joining us is Sharon Otness-Foot, a Healthy Lifestyle Coach who helps women fall in love with themselves again by feeling healthy, vibrant, sexy and confident through the "VaVoom Factor," a 5-part process, designed to take clients from Doom and Gloom to VaVoom
Friday 11th of November 2011
The most effective enterprises come from our own experiences.
It happens to all of us. We get an amazing product idea based on our own desire to fulfill a personal need. We consider putting our brainchild into action, get spooked by the unknown and let the idea fizzle away. Then we freak out when we learn that someone else had the same idea, and is making a nice living off of our brainchild.
If this has happened to you on more than one occasion, its time to re-evaluate and re-engage. Don't let another brilliant concept pass you by.
There are so many reasons that I am excited to share this week's guest with you. Kelly Lester, the inventor of EasyLunchboxes, is that Mom Entrepreneur. You know, the one who created a product that seems so simple in retrospect that nearly anyone could have come up with it, but she was the one who took the ball and ran with it. She is the one who took action, and she did it with full commitment- without reservation, without exception, and without excuses. In less than 3 years, Kelly's product has taken the lunchbox industry by storm becoming the top lunchbox product on Amazon.com, and the most talked about lunchbox campaign on the web today. All of this was executed without spending a single advertising dollar. READ MORE ABOUT KELLY LESTER HERE--->
Oh yeah. There is a lot we can learn from Kelly Lester.
And her product? We unofficially announced on our facebook fanpage that our giveaway this week would be one of her complete lunchbox systems, and we already have people clamoring to win. Wouldn't you love to know her secrets?
In addition to getting the inside scoop about her incredibly successful launch pad, Kelly will be sharing some of her best tips for creating a healthy and fun food lifestyle for our families.
...AND because Kelly happens to be a really FUN friend of mine, we're going to have a BLAST. (That is just a given...)
Friday 4th of November 2011
have had the pleasure of connecting with thousands of parents in the last 4 years, and that number grows rapidly each day. One thing that remains consistent in what I have learned from you as parents: We really are more alike than different.
It should come as no surprise that we are motivated by the exact same thing:
Our love for our children.
We may be activated through different means of achieving our goals, different passions, career aspirations and lifestyle visions, but the driving force is still the same.
Why then, do we feel so alone?
Today there is a greater ability to connect with one another than in any past generation.
There has never been a better time for moms and dads to claim their place in society and earn their way to freedom, all while making a difference for our children and the future that awaits them. Thanks to the interactive media, gone are the days of the lonely house parent who has no means of connecting to other grown-up intelligence. We have resources!
We must realize our potential as a community, our power as consumers, and the promise for a significant impact by committing to COLLABORATION.
There is a science behind all of this and when closely examined, it equals progress.
This week, I am going to be introducing you to one of my most favorite people, Sundara Delphini. A single mom, a doctor of alternative medicine, an expert in spiritual wellness, and a master of energy and quantum physics. There is no better way to describe her... Sundara is a HEALER. Together we will be discussing the very energy that surrounds us, binds us and connects us- and how to harness it for our advantage in this forward movement.
Joining me also this week will be a very special guest co-host, one of the loyal and dedicated staff members of OurMilkMoney.com, Wendy Conte, Certified Bookkeeper and Quickbooks ProAdvisor for more than twenty years, and a terrific example of a successfully self-employed parent with an ideal niche.

If life is a contact sport... just seize the remote.
I admit it. I am a disenfranchised companion of a hopeless sports fanatic. Every year during the baseball season and then during football season…and then again during basketball and hockey season, I become a sports widow. My usually amazing, supportive and attentive husband disappears into an alternate universe. He becomes engrossed in our TV and is oblivious to anything occurring outside of the flat screen. He is visually as well as audibly impaired and deprived of common reality. Not only do I lose my husband's mental state to the sports world, I lose him emotionally as well. Suddenly his moods become dependent on how his team performed that day.
During the season, my family also gets to witness overly superstitious behavior bordering on OCD. I don't just mean wearing a favorite shirt or chanting a team mantra- I mean the belief that if he doesn't eat the right food or sit in the perfect position- that he personally will have a negative affect on the outcome of the game.
If you would like to get back to loving your man (rather than loathing the Super Bowl) rest assured- help is on the way. I cannot wait to bring on our special guest of the week, Leah Jantzen- a fellow Toginet host, stay-at-home mom, life coach, and brilliant expert in helping the abandoned sports wives become abundantly sports savvy. We'll be discussing how to meet your sports-a-holic half way, how to find your inner sports fan amid the sports aversions you think you might have, and how to use these televised sporting events to work to your advantage.
Mine and Kelly's husband's also join us for the sports talk. Oh Joy!

Give yourself permission to be the boss of you.
Today I had a conversation with my 5 year old about being the boss of himself, and how he shouldn't worry about what everyone else is doing on the kindergarten play yard. Interesting concept, isn't it? All too often we see a clear path to success for others much more than we see for ourselves.
I remember when I wasn't the boss of myself... when I had a job working for someone else. Several jobs, actually. Although I didn't know it at the time, I lacked 2 things that I will never take for granted as my own boss again: Freedom and choice.
I just came back from an empowering conference called "Woo Hoo Weekend" with Lisa Steadman- where I had the privilege of speaking to a fantastic group of men and women about our choices as parents who are self-employed. For many of us, the desire to become our own boss didn't fully transpire until we became parents. We talked about the physical, mental and emotional transformation that came about once our children became the centerpiece in our lives. No matter how much we had prepared, everything took a detour once baby made 3.
In some ways, parenthood gave us more clarity and more self-purpose than we'd ever known, or ever expected to know. In other ways, it presented us with fear, worry and loneliness that would keep us up late to serve our families and our businesses - but rarely ourselves.
Now more than ever, there should never be a question how necessary it is that we claim our success and stand up for our smart and savvy selves. No one can travel down your path, hold your actions accountable, or celebrate your story as well as you.
I am thrilled to be inviting a dear friend to the show on Friday - a passionate parent and wow-woman with aptitude, drive and mom power, Jill Leberknight. I know you will find her to be as inspirational as I do!
Friday 14th of October 2011
Today, we have Geoff Alexander from iContact returning to the show- and we will also be introducing you to the winner of the iContact email marketing campaign home-based business, Lisa Nicholson. I am thrilled to be able to talk to her for the first time and I just know that you are all going to be so inspired by her. She is definitely someone who makes things happen, without excuses, without letting fear or rejection frighten her… she has the right attitude- she is someone that we all should aspire to be like.

You might be holding a magic wand.
If you've been following along each week, you have most likely been planting seeds for awhile now. Like the vegetables and flowers in your garden, the seeds need nourishment. Water, sunlight, soil and love. If you have been diligently tending to the seeds of your home based business, there is no telling when they could sprout! For some, seeing those sprouts can be very exciting. For others, overwhelming and downright SCARY.
What if that big break to happened TOMORROW?
The truth is that we are often not prepared for that million dollar break, and it could be a likely reason why it has not happened yet. Are you sabotaging your own success?
I believe in the power of manifestation and that often we will subconsiously wish away the things that we are working so hard to acheive- because deep down we don't feel prepared to handle the success.
I am afraid...
...if the local news station runs a segment about me, too many people would see, want to buy my product and I wouldn't have enough inventory.
...if I took on more clients, I wouldn't be able to find the time to service them.
...if I made a big sale, I'd have to hire contract help, and then I'd have to pay them.
...if Oprah comes calling, there wouldn't be anyone to pick up my kids from school.
Sounds crazy right? These may be other people's fears, but if you are willing to dig a little deeper, you may discover that you have some irrational fears of your own. The truth is, these are common fears that I have heard from many of the self-employed parents that I talk with and coach.
Could it be that you are actually afraid of success?
Let's at least be honest about WHY you might posses these fears of success. Once you are able to clearly see what is holding you back, a magic wand will be revealed to you. It may be as simple and clear as making a choice to wave it and be ready for bigger and better things.
Join us this Friday when we talk about FEAR (in honor of the scariest month of the year)!!
I am thrilled to be welcoming back a favorite guest, Danny Koefke! You may remember him as the school teacher and author who told us that if his entire family could thrive on a teacher's salary, you could survive on fixed budget as well.
Danny is giving away a copy of his newest book!

Friday 30th of September 2011
You'd love to leave your day job and come home full time, but then how would you put food on the table?
You are not alone in your desires, and you are willing to explore every viable option, but in the end, you feel lucky to have a job and a steady paycheck. You don't want to mess with decent fortune in this economy, so instead of rocking the boat you stay right where you are - despite the fact that you really wish you had more time at home with your family.
No one blames you for being torn between having big dreams and staying comfortable in your current reality.
So lets explore something new. Telecommuting.
Keep the job. Lose the commute.
Not only can you have your cake and eat it too, but by proposing a telecommute option to your current employer, you will be contributing to a growing trend and paving the way for others to do the same.
You may not realize this but most people who are currently telecommuting for their employer originally believed it wasn't an option. The reality? Telecommuting is a growing trend BECAUSE of the tremendous value it provides for the employee as well as the employer. New research shows that employee productivity increases when given more freedom and flexibility to work from a remote location. Telecommuting is also attractive to larger companies because it saves on overhead by downsizing the physical workplace.
Join us this Friday when we share with you just how mobile today's workforce really is!
Joining us are Peter Mann, CEO of Oransi, a green home products company that strongly encourages their employees to telecommute, and Kate Lister from the Telework Research Network. READ MORE ABOUT OUR EXPERT GUESTS HERE--->
Co-hosting with me this week is one of my most talented and dedicated staff members, Roz Walker, Director of Marketing and Business Development at OurMilkMoney.com. READ MORE ABOUT ROZ HERE--->

You've listened to other inspirational stories. Now it's time to listen to your own.
We all have a story to tell, but hands down- your story is the best one there is. No matter where you are in your journey- there is an inspirational screenplay in the making with you playing the role of the protagonist, the hero and the champion. Don't quite see it?
There is tremendous value in living in the moment - in treasuring every trial and tribulation and having pride in your "war wounds". We learn through struggle. We become stronger each time we fall down. We gain valuable insight by doing - much more than listening to others tell us how to do it.
For most of us, there isn't a lot that we aren't willing to do to achieve our ultimate success. Before we invest ourselves emotionally, financially and mentally however, we want to know that there will be an ultimate pay off. We are cautious. We can't afford to waste our precious time on a business concept that might suck up our resources and leave us feeling depleted, burned and rejected. We have become so cautious that often we choose not to take the risk at all. No matter how trapped we feel in our less than desirable situations, we aren't always willing to leave the safety of our personal prisons.
Do more than learn about it. Live it.
This week I am going to show you how to use your innermost conflicts as a catalyst for your own personal success. No one can tell your story like you can. You may be surprised just how inspirational your story is. The more trauma and anguish....the better!
Join us this Friday when I give you a quick step by step tutorial on how to create your own inspirational story - complete with a destination so successful that it will have your audiences cheering to the very end. This is one story that will give you more drive and will power than anything else has given you up until now.
Our guest this week is Debra M. Cohen, Successful Mompreneur, President of Home Remedies® of NY, Inc., and author of The Complete Guide To Owning And Operating A Successful Homeowner Referral Network©

Our careers are not indissoluble. Its almost too easy sometimes to fall out of love with our projects, and let them die slowly on the vine. Our marriages: Not always indestructible.
Our choice to become a parent? PERMANENT.
No getting out of that one.
Becoming a parent is never what you expected and no matter how much you prepare, you are never prepared enough. Why? Every child is different and every family has a different dynamic. Parenthood is a constant transition, filled with drastic modifications in your environment, your priorities and your relationships.
Staying organized and on top of your game is essential for your business success as well as the success of your parenting.
Joining me this week is parenting expert, successful business coach, public speaker and fellow Toginet radio show host, Brenda Nixon of The Parents Plate.

They say art is a way of life...but can you live it?
There are people who have spent their lifetime making sacrifices for their art. Why not do the same for our children, our businesses and our ideal way of life?
The "struggling artist" very often gets a bad reputation for being poor, irresponsible, or unclear about what their priorities should be. But consider for a moment what we can learn from this generation's artist. Take away the desire to "make money" and replace it with the desire to "make art" and you'll see exactly how its possible to live beneath your means in a way that makes you happy and filled with joy on a daily basis.
Struggling to survive in a bad economy? Ask a stage actress who has been living in her own personal recession for her entire career. In massive business debt? Ask a theater company how they've managed to survive performing to only half-filled houses. Feeling empty or undernourished from being forced to live a more frugal lifestyle? Ask the poet how going for a walk in the rain can satisfy their soul for the rest of the week.
If the goal here is to spend more time with your family- if that is what simply makes your life worth living -then the artist just may be the ideal teacher for you.
Joining me this week is playwright, Rebekah L. Pierce, whose work focuses on contemporary women and the search for purpose and identity.
Friday 19th of August 2011
We are Moms. It's our job to be emotional.
Let's take off our business hats and focus on the kids this week. Since we are our own bosses, we can absolutely make that decision if we want to ...and commit to it....guilt free! (Its one of the many perks to being self-employed).
Now that we've established that, lets get back to the kids. For many, its back to school week! Whether you send your kids to public school, private school, or home school- we have each chosen what we believe is the best method for educating our children and helping them to find their place in this world. As their caretakers we have made ourselves responsible in virtually everything: Language, manners, safety, resourcefulness, discipline, curiousity, creativity. Empathy. EVERYTHING. (I am exhausted just thinking about it!)
No matter what education system you have chosen for your child, it is important that we include the importance of taking risks. In each stage of life, infant to adult, its been proven time and time again that INTELLIGENCE does not always equal success, but CONFIDENCE IN SELF very often does equal success. Therefore, we'll be talking about the importance of growing through neccessary risk taking and encouarging your children to do the same.
This is a special week for me personally because my oldest is starting Kindergarten and my youngest is starting Preschool. Its been a very emotional and exciting time for my family. If you have a child who is starting a new school, or simply moving up to a new grade level, join me on Friday where we can congratulate (as well as commiserate with) each other on another parent job well done.
Friday 12th of August 2011
A Mom is a Mom is a Mom...
But my favorite kind of mom is one with a sense of humor. Which is why I am over the moon about having a good laugh with my dear friend, Kaitlin Olson on Friday's show.
You know her from her hit television comedy series, It's Always Sunny in Phillidelphia on FX, or from her recurring roles on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Meet the Marks, The Drew Carey Show, Miss Match and countless others.
Yep, she's a celebrity, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud to know her although not for the reason you might think. If there is one person who has stayed completely grounded despite her fame in Hollywoodland, Kaitlin is the girl. Its not often you meet someone who has it all- beauty, brains, talent, and love. She's the full package... and she's not all that different from me and you. We are in for a real treat this week!
Friday 5th of August 2011
There is power in numbers.
When I first created OurMilkMoney.com, it was because I had a dream to be able to stay home and take care of my family. I knew that I couldn't do it alone, and that there had to be others who had the same dream. My vision for OurMilkMoney.com was that it would be a collaborative organization - one that would serve a purpose for many others like me. The more parents I could get involved- the more we would accomplish for ourselves and our children. I had dreams of validation, purpose and impact. Nearly 4 years later, I still feel the energy from all of you. It’s feeding itself. We can see very clearly what we have already accomplished and how much more we will grow and succeed as a team.
Parents are a force to be reckoned with.
We share the same philosophy. In this virtual world of intra-personal communication, you must believe that there is a force that binds us all together. It's the love we have for our children. Because, let’s face it, none of us knew this kind of love until we became parents. It changed everything about who we are as people and what is ultimately important in our short time on this planet. No matter what your personal goals are for your family, what kind of house you want to live in, the monetary limit you’ve put on yourself to feel successful... we all have our children in common with one another. Not one of us will dispute that our families are worth the sacrifices we make every day. We use our lives of freedom to give quality time to our children...not on sick days or an allotted number of personal days. EVERYDAY. No one’s priorities are more important than yours and your family’s.
That is why Organizations like OurMilkMoney.com and LivingMyMoMent.com are aggressively adamant in showing the world the value of family owned and operated businesses. Joining us on Friday is Abbey Fatica, owner and president of Living Your Moment which she started in April 2009 as a way to market small businesses owned by moms and dads.
Friday 29th of July 2011
Time. Remember when it was expendable?
If there is one challenge that we all share as parents and entrepreneurs its in managing our schedules: Daily tasks, keeping our children alive and well, parenting to our best ability, attending to our home, our small business, our own sanity...how do others cope?
One thing is certain, you don't need me to tell you that you need to have more control of the chaos... you already crave it with every fiber of your being. What you need is a solution. A step by step strategy that will allow you to stay present in your time with your children, keep confident and attentive when working with clients, retain confidence and conviction while growing your business, and earn the right to sleep peacefully at night.
I come across this challenge so often with my personal coaching clients that I thought it was time to address it on the show.
There is good news here.
First, you are not the only one who struggles to keep it all together- that should give you the plausibility to breath a sign of relief.
Second, you are not crazy or incapable or hopeless.
Third, there is a solution- and if you join me on Friday you will walk away with the tools to create a much more manageable schedule for yourself, your family and your business.
We have a terrific guest joining us, Tisha Marie Pelletier, the owner/founder of Simply Put Marketing, Details Event Management, The Mom-e Club and author of When The Universe Throws a Curve Ball – How a mom entrepreneur went from disappointment to living her passion.

If you know a child bully, look closer at where they maybe learning their behavior.
The apple never falls far from the tree, which is why moms and kids alike are tormented. It's bad enough that kids bully other kids. But look out for another rascal on the playground. Do you know her?
THE BULLY MOM aka The Monster in The Minivan.
Either you've seen her terrorize others, or she's come after you personally. She's always got a juicy rumor to share about another mom, or worse: a child. She's the one who made you feel bad because you couldn't breast-feed.... or labeled you the "boob Nazi" because you dared to nurse in public. You may have a regular group of moms in your play-date, but she's always "forgetting" to invite certain women.
Or is it more than 1 mom? Perhaps an entire group of culprits are making you sweat each time you see them. Bullies tend to flock together, excluding the new mom on the playground, or flat out ignoring the mom who just moved into the area hoping to make some new friends and simply "fit in."
While women are capable of such strong friendships and acceptance, they are just as capable of being downright MEAN.
As Little Parents who Stay Home and Parents of The Our Milk Money Organization, we've accomplished A LOT together. We've rallied and united, forming a nationwide movement of parents who have vowed to support one-another in our choice to work from home. Now its time to come together for a new cause: The Anti-Bully Campaign. Live and Let Live. Support each other and THRIVE!
Now I KNOW that none of you are tyrants, (right?!?)... But I do know that you are powerful parents who care to make a difference for yourselves and for your children. We all want to live bully-free. Therefore, I am calling upon you to join us this Friday where I have invited 2 incredible women to talk about how we can stop the bullying altogether and contribute to a more peaceful playground and contented community.
Please welcome a wonderfully giving, supportive and hard-working member of Our Milk Money, Stacy McGuigan. I've invited her to join me on Friday's Anti-Bully show as a Co-Host because she is a terrific example of how we can use our passions for good, and how the decision to support others can move mountains! If more people were like Stacy, the world would be a better place.
In addition, we will be inviting Dr. Jeanelle Marshawn Lanham as our Expert Guest, Founder of the Teen Nonprofit Hodge Podge the Teen Cafe. Also a published author with a Doctorate in Teen and Family Counseling, she's known as The SWAG Doc™.

Moms are great with scheduling in time for everyone else.
How about a little "YOU" time? Worried it might take away from the time you've scheduled to save the world?
You are not alone.
As moms we are often driven to pursue definitions of what a good mother looks like to the point that we completely lose ourselves in the process.
I am inviting Patty Lennon back to the show this week because she is a lot like you. She is a mom who thrives on making an impact on the world, connecting with other women, and giving herself the life she's always wanted. Patty will be joining us this Friday to talk to us about creating a virtual home for Moms like you who are ready to move up on the priority list - by designing a life that honors you as an individual. READ MORE ABOUT PATTY LENNON HERE-->
If you are ready to fall as deeply in love with your life as you are with your children, this is the show for you!
In addition, Patty will be sharing with us some great knowledge about Micro-Lending through Kiva.org and how to give back to the world, simply by empowering yourself. Two Birds, one stone.

A fantastic show with 2 fantastic women: Wokie Nwabueze, who will soon be a fellow host with me here on Toginet with her new show Stop Fighting! Make Peace at Home, AND Kelly McCormick, author of the new book, OutSell Yourself: Go from Hello to Sold with Ethical Business & Sales Techniques.
This generation of small business owners has a new selling style.
Its called "recession selling" and it refers to the way consumers have responded to the unsteadiness in the economy. What kind of seller are you? Does it match the way you think as a consumer? Do you upsell yourself on a product or service with lots of options or do you pass on the extras simply because times appear to be tough, and instead purchase a new product only out of sheer need?

The best way to predict the future it to create it ourselves...but it couldn't hurt to have a hint or two about which path we should take...
If you are like me, hard work comes fast- but slow results make you batty. Often, I have found myself shaking my head to the universe begging for a sign that my persistence and perseverance will result in some sort of pay off. Ever feel that way? Am I on the right path? Should I try going down that path instead? What am I missing?
In passed shows we have talked about how we can cut out 80% of our competition just by outlasting everyone else. A shocking 90% of first time home-based businesses fail in the first year because of the inclination to throw in the towel a little too early.
It wasn't too long ago I ran into my friend, Heidi Rose Robbins- a gifted astrologer and empowering group leader for women. She must have sensed my restlessness because she intuitively offered me a "hint" into my future- the very prophecy that I had been aching for: "You are on the right path, and very soon, you will begin to see results from all of your hard work."
It was all I needed to march on.

For many of us, success is merely just A CHOICE to execute a tactical plan that will create your desired results. What is so complicated about that? I'll tell you what is complicated: We are. We have too many worries, fears, complaints, stresses and B.A.G.G.A.G.E! These problems cloud our visions and distract us from our focus in a vicious cycle that confuses our intelligence.
This week I'll be drawing your attention to your subconscious mindset, and whether it is working for you or against you. How open are you to altering your belief system? If you want to learn to expect more from yourself, a shift in mindset is almost always the magic ingredient. Together we will create your unique victory story!

These kids went from ABC to CEO.
Have we been so consumed with our own home-based businesses that will allow us to take care of our kids, that we might have overlooked the notion of raising them to take care of themselves? We can play a large role in the kind of future our children have by exposing them to our own careers and engaging them in the freedoms that comes along with being financially independent.
As an added bonus, if you are in need of some help funding your family's active lifestyle, perhaps you don't need to look past the little tenants residing in your home. Putting your tween on your payroll will not only provide you with outstanding tax benefits, it will also encourage their entrepreneurial spirit and teach them valuable financial lessons along the way.
I've invited back my good friend, Sarah L. Cook - owner of Raising CEO Kids to Co-Host with me this week.Together we will be interviewing some of the most inspirational kiddos this generations has ever known. I am so excited to introduce you to these young entrepreneurs!
Meet our four young superstars:Lexxi Saal founded Lexxiloves.Org when she was eight years old. Her foundation provides love and compassion to the children in foster care.Michael Costigan carries an utterly unique story to share. As a 13 year old, he set off to start his first business -- madƒusion.Michael Kilby is a high school student who began SubtleTees from an idea he developed after playing a word game with his family and completing an 8th grade art project.Rachel Pavelka, age 16, has owned multiple businesses since the age of six.

Business just got personal.
A good old fashioned Mom and Pop business is a neat idea in theory but how does it really work out? You want to start a home-based business, and you'd like to work with a partner. How about your life partner? You've managed everything else together - your house, your kids, your vacations... why not share the same career?
When you're confronted constantly by someone who knows you so well, you're going to have an extraordinary opportunity to work on your flaws and develop as a person.
When it does work, it can be glorious.
So, how can you make it work?
Plan no-business weekends. Go on actual dates. Make rules.
Sounds like the same rules we talk about for any parent who is self- employed, doesn't it?
This week I'll be bringing on a friend who has made it work. Adrienne Kallweit, owner of SeekingSitters has been working with her husband for 7 years and will be sharing her story with us!
Friday 3rd of June 2011
Everyone is calling themselves a business coach these days.
How can you know for sure if you need a coach, and what can you expect from hiring one? How can you even be sure if you are working with the right one?
These and more questions will be answered on this week's show.
Issues today- School teacher wants to quit her job but has no idea what she could do from home and is afraid to lose her 40,000/ year income.
AND
Selfemployed mom has too many ideas and wants to know how to keep all her businesses organized without losing her mind. Also, are multiple streams of income good?

You might be an ideal employee, or a rock star business owner. You may be creative, innovative, organized and skilled, but there is no way around it. If you are going to venture into business for yourself, you are going to have to talk to other people.
If you are shy, lack confidence in your communication skills, or seem to have forgotten how to speak "grown-up" since becoming a mom, then this is the show for you! Lets brush up on those conversation skills and get comfortable talking again.
This week I am bringing on a dynamic guest, Robyn Hatcher, the founder of SpeakEtc., a communication and presentation-skills training and coaching company that helps clients develop presence through communication. We'll also talk about how to polish the non-verbal elements of communication – body language, gestures, vocal quality and unlike many other presentation coaches Robyn works equally on the verbal skills– word choice, content and organization so that clients become more powerful and engaging communicators. Her unique approach identifies and works with client’s strengths, core values, and passion.
Robyn will be giving away 20 complimentry coaching sessions! You must listen to the show to find out how to be one of the first 20 chosen!

Being you. Nobody can do it better.
Oh sure, you might think you'd be better in business if you were someone else. With someone else's education, someone else's money, or someone else's connections. But that is not necessarily true. You are right where you are today because you are ...you.
Learning to embrace our best attributes (and forgiving some of our worst) allows us to be fully present in our business experiences, offers us more authentic relationships and stops the dreaded "If I was someone else..." head trip that can sabotage our success.
There is no one better to help us with this lesson than the amazing Jess Weiner. A friend and colleague, Jess is dynamic at giving us the gift of loving ourselves.
Friday 13th of May 2011
Don't let your visions of success frighten you.
As parents and business leaders, we are also visionaries... and that can be overwhelming for those of us balancing a full schedule of family, home and business. Making room for our own sense of purpose can feel irrepressible and disorganized...until we see an example of someone who has already achieved the kind of success we'd like for ourselves.
Last week, we talked about surrounding ourselves with positive people and how that can create a clear path to victory. This week I'd like to talk about adopting behaviors and philosophies of those we admire and look up to.
For this very in depth look at ourselves as front runners in our own ambitions, I am bringing on a woman who I have admired for years, Susan Lyne.
When I first met Susan, I'd just about had it with corporate jobs, the temping pool and narrow-minded bosses. I might have completely lost my faith in the American workplace as well as in my own ability to deliver adequately as an employee. I had been knocked down too many times for instinctively wanting to streamline and push boundaries, and was nearly convinced that it was not possible to satisfy any employer, let alone my own career aspirations...which were becoming more and more unclear to me. I needed a role model. Someone to look up to who would show me that it is possible to lead a dynamic team without sacrficing integrity, and one that would transform my outlook to a more positive one.
At the time Susan was the President of The ABC Television Network, and my temp agency assigned me to answer her phones for a half a day - which turned into 7 fantastic months working for a woman I grew to admire, aimed to be like, and would eventually turn to as a cherished mentor.
In that 7 months I learned how a great leader leads, the inter-workings of the entertainment Industry, conversed on a daily basis with Hollywood celebrities, television executives and creatives, and best of all - it was the beginning of my growth into a new version of my best self. It was the beginning of my new career as a free thinker, visionary and eventual leader, myself. Thanks to Susan, I began to believe in what I could contribute to my own life as well as with others.
This week, I am beyond thrilled to be interviewing my role model, Susan Lyne - an empowering leader, a dynamic media guru, and terrific mother and wife. Currently Susan holds the position of CEO at The Gilt Group.
Friday 6th of May 2011
We are very affected by the energy of the people who surround us... especially the people who we love most.
It's not the easiest thing to admit, but often it is the support (or lack thereof) from our friends and family members who make or break our success. These characters are only fragments of the people we love most and our need to impress them is fabricated by our own insecurities and fears. When we are working overtime to appease them, we become unclear about our own intentions and consequently deny serving our happiest self. Our inner voice becomes silenced.
On the other hand having a strong support base, fans who adore you and are rooting for you, can make a terrific impact and result in acheiving your ultimate reality.
Then again, who in this whole wide world doesn't have complicated relationships?
This week we'll be talking about finding your peeps, and conditioning your "habitual relationships" to be more optimal, more productive and more worthy of your love and attention.
Joining us this Friday is Cindy W. Morrison, former news anchor and investigative reporter, now a social media strategist and author of her latest book: Girlfriends 2.0. She will be joining us to talk about SOCIALVENTION: How to reboot, upgrade and reinvent yourself.
n addition, I will be welcoming a fantastic new "co-host for a day" to share the airwaves this week: Patty Lennon! A coach for moms and the founder of MOM GETS A LIFE, Patty is the perfect complement to the show this week. Moms, we'll be talking about how to become more clear in how to serve your deepest needs, stay true to your essence and fall back in love with your purpose on this planet.
Friday 29th of April 2011
In my absence, my amazing co-host and producer, Kelly St. Clair will be taking over the show on Friday with a not-to-be-missed guest.
I'll be back the following week. Be good!

We're All in This Thing Together
In the year 2000, my husband and I were blindsided by a home invasion. This shocking event would change us as the people we once were. Or should I say…. thought we were! We were instantly transformed into irrational human beings. It distorted our view of the world around us. How would we be altered because of this? Would we be able to stay sane in an insane world?
My beliefs before this home invasion were that everything was going to be story–book perfection. I had already had my life systematically planned out, complete with an organized time-line. You see, as a little girl, like so many other little girls, I always dreamed of marrying my prince charming and living happily ever after. I even designed the wedding in my head with exact precision. Right down to the last hand-sewn pearl on my dress. My perfect husband and I would get married and have 2.4 beautiful children. Twins, plus point four. When they were born, my husband would help with the care-giving of these little bundles of joy equally. Fifty-Fifty. And life would be………
Wait.
Stop.
That was my fantasy world. In reality, it is much different. Society has us believing that the mother should be the predominant care giver and have principal responsibility for the well-being of the child, while the husband hunts and gathers to bring home the pay dirt.
My guest this week will dispel these beliefs and help us understand that there is a better way.
Kristin Maschka will reveal her 4 Remodeling Tools to get the lives we want. In addition, we will be discussing ways for parents to allocate responsibilities equally and share in the contributions of the family’s financial security.
You do not want to miss a minute of this revolutionary show that is sure to start a movement of a new way of parenthood AND parenting.

Remodeling Motherhood To get The Lives We Want Today
Friday 22nd of April 2011
If you are looking for freedom without the guess work, purchasing a franchise might be a perfect option for you.
You want to be your own boss, but the thought of being a CEO might make you shutter. I am not going to convince you otherwise. If there is one thing I have learned from my coaching clients and even some of the callers on the show, its that some people just don’t want to go it alone, and who could blame them? Its life-changing enough when you discover all the added responsibility that goes a long with becoming a new parent. Why would anyone willingly take on the accountability for an entire company? No, thanks. Just sign me up to do some work for someone and give me a paycheck for my time.
If only it were that easy.
Contrary to the way it may seem there is a middle ground and owning a franchise may be a viable option. If you are like most people you probably don't give yourself enough credit. You may be scratching your head in the same spot wondering if you are good at anything. You might assume that because you’ve never been your own boss that you still need a boss to tell you what to do. If the thought of truly being your own boss gives you more of an upset stomach than changing your situation, no matter how miserable it may be, then consider purchasing a franchise.
Ask yourself these questions: Are you looking for something that is uniquely yours? Or do you simply want to run the show, regardless if it's by someone else's rules?
The biggest advantage of owning a franchise is the reduction of risk you will be taking for your investment. This is because franchises typically get up and running faster, and are profitable more quickly. This is the result of an already proven management system as well as an already established name. Add the flexibility of the fact that you are still the boss with a product or service you can be passionate about as a parent, and it may just be the answer you've been looking for.
Joining me this week to talk about franchising is the lovely and talented Shannon Wilburn, President and Co-Founder of The Just Between Friends Franchise System. With over 100 franchises in more than 20 states (26 of them can be found on OurMilkMoney.com!), Shannon will be talking about the JBF concept: How JBF saves families 50-90% and helps families make 65-70% on selling their own children's and maternity items.
In addition to franchising, we'll be revealing 4 top notch and underground universal rules among the nations flourishing self-employed parents.
What Are these New Rules?
On Friday we will uncover the innovative underground world filled with flourishing self-employed parents who once felt like they were on the outside looking in, but not any longer.
What is their secret to success? Its simple. They follow the rules.
Parents across the country have already discovered that survival is not only possible, it’s unavoidable. By simply understanding the operating principles shared by others before them, you too will see how to flourish. Tune in to learn these 5 simple rules that will nearly guarantee your success as a "career parent" and make your "double careers" a whole lot easier!

Thanks to internet media, anything is possible. The truth is there are a million and one ways to cultivate your campaign and none of them should be overlooked as a possibility. We can start by exploring one of the hottest new trends that I happen to know a lot about:
Being the host of your own radio show.
This week I'll be inviting my boss, John Martin (or as I like to call him "Papa Togi") the owner of Toginet Radio, to talk about all you ever wanted to know about hosting your own talk radio hour. Its a great time to call in for questions! We'll be chatting a bit more about my COHOST for a DAY Campaign which will give you the opportunity to join me on the air live and learn all the ins and outs of broadcasting your message via internet radio!
I will also be sharing with you some things that I've learned over the last 55 episodes that have helped me to grow my brand, land me on the top of the iTunes charts and allowed me to exceed my listenership goal by 500% in the last few months.
In addition, we'll be talking about how to create a small budget for your small business. I am pleased to introduce to you Jerry R. Citarella, a financial services trainer and presenter. READ MORE ABOUT JERRY NOW --->

Julie Steelman generated over $100 million in sales, left corporate America and retired at a young age to live in Hawaii with her husband.
Isn't it time to turn your dream into reality?
If you are like me, you hate the idea of selling, no matter what it is.... your products, someone else's products, your services, someone else's services...
The very thought of asking someone for money might bring about nausea...and you are not alone. Then again, you work hard and you are as ready as ever to maximize your profits and boost your bank account balance.
Torn much?
Its time for us to have the "How to Sell" conversation, and there is no one better to help me with this topic than Julie Steelman.
Most entrepreneurs trip over the cash-generating functions of their business because there are so many misperceptions about selling. That means most of us are leaving precious dollars on the table and forfeiting our right to live abundantly.
The truth is, when your mind-set, heart-set and skill-set are aligned properly, you become instantly bankable. You easily magnetize your ideal customers and have the soul-satisfying business you always dreamed of.
Everyone (including you) has their own natural selling and money-making style. It’s just that you haven’t known how to access it or how to use it to win business graciously.

I am constantly looking to align myself with people who are real go-getters. I am most inspired by those that possess a real human spirit and tenacity for life. These are the people who I want to learn from, the ones who overcame a real struggle or unexpected curve ball thrown at them by life itself. The ones who never saw their lack of support or funding or less than desirable circumstances as an excuse to give up. These are the stories I get truly excited to share with you on This Little Parent Stayed Home, because they get you pumped up and feeling grateful for all the opportunity you already have.

The most successful people take their "mess" and make a message.
Why is it that other people's stories always seem more inspiring than our own? Is it that we have a hard time recognizing what will make our own stories mean something to others? We know our stories too well to be able to see it from someone else's point of view. Join me on Friday when I show you how to unlock the potential that you've always had for rising above any possible competition in your field. Like-minded communities must stick together and rely on each other in times of crises.
That is why when my friend Sharon Davis contacted me and asked me for my support, I decided to hand my show over to her this Friday so that she could broadcast a very important message. Sharon lives in Fort Bragg, CA, a "sister city" of the newly devastated Otsuchi, Japan, where more than 10,000 residents of the small 16,000 person community are still missing from last week's quake and subsequent tsunami. Sharon is on the committee for the Otsuchi Relief Fund, and is determined to help her sister community rebuild itself. Members of the Fort Bragg Otsuchi Cultural Exchange Association (FBOCEA) have mobilized to create an Otsuchi Relief Fund. The entire community is rallying to raise funds to help the families in Otsuchi who have lost their homes, businesses and their families.
WHY AM I HELPING THEM? WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH BEING A PARENT WHO WANTS TO STAY HOME?
This is an incredible story and I am always struck with gratitude when I learn of these selfless acts of kindness and altruism. We so often become consumed with the little trials of our own lives that we very easily shut out greater things that are happening in the world- and then we wonder why things are not "going our way." Perhaps its comforting for us to close our eyes to the more substantial and monumental misfortunes, but ignorance has its consequences and knowledge gives us the power to grow.
I invite you to step outside of yourself for an hour this Friday - out of your familiar reality and out of your comfort zone - to learn about the great things that can be accomplished when large groups of people with similar passions come together.
Friday 11th of March 2011
What is the ideal you? And how does one become that?
This is something you've been hearing me talk alot about recently: The importance of having a role model... or several.
True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would like to have and those who have affected us in a way that makes us want to be better people. They affect us because they have touched a part of ourselves that is aching to be stimulated and awakened to its fullest potential. Role models can be real or fictitious.
That is right. You have the power to create your ideal and theoretical hero, and you absolutely should.
Your hero will advocate for you and your goals. This supreme being takes leadership on the issues that you believe in, handles rejection with grace and integrity, and is a prototype for everything we are creating in ourselves. We often don't recognize our true role models until we have noticed our own personal growth and progress .
This week, I am going to tell you about some of my role models and how you can take all of the best qualities of those you admire most to help you influence yourself.
We'll also be talking a little about The Empty Nest Syndrome at each stage of parenting, whether you are just about to send your little ones to kindergarten, or not-so-little-ones to college. Natalie Caine will be joining us as this week's guest to talk about how to handle life's bittersweet moments and deal with a newly emptied nest.

In this economy, everyone needs to have a job.
Taking care of your kids and your household is worth a million bucks, but unfortunately that is not going to cut it. You have bills to pay, little people to feed and...well, a life to live.
It takes time to build a business, and nowadays, sticking it out is half the battle. But enough is enough. You are working hard and you deserve to be paid.
If only that were enough.
Pulling double duty does not entitle anyone to a salary, but creating a smart and strategic business plan will give you a greater chance of prosperity.
Just wait until you hear the valuable insight that will be brought to the show this week! I am honored to have joining us, Nell Merlino, Founder and President of Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence, the leading national not-for-profit provider of resources for women to grow their micro businesses into Million Dollar Enterprises. Its HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THIS LITTLE PARENT! We'll be celebrating 1 year of broadcast. Join us for a hilarious story from Chris Loprete about what happened 1 year ago today!
We can benefit from free enterprise or contribute to a better world for our kids...or do both.
When I first left my corporate job and came home to play the role of full-time mom, I remember thinking, "It just shouldn't be this hard." All I wanted to was to be able to provide for my child and my former employer was making it extra difficult. Maybe it was because I wanted to justify having to spend long hours away from my new baby, so I worked extra hard in my role in corporate America to make that time away from him count. But it didn't matter. I was already being penalized for becoming a mother. My boss made that clear, and so did my co-workers. They made comments like, "Well, I don't have kids to make the excuse to take extra time off when they get sick."
At the time I nodded along, feeling almost guilty for having the audacity to ask for a day off to tend to my sick child. Looking back, I don't know who I am more disgusted by: the people who spoke to me in such a manor, or myself for allowing it to happen.
When I lost my job and was thrust into the opportunity to become my own boss (whether I was ready for it or not) it became clear that I needed to take full advantage of the freedoms that had just been handed to me on a silver platter. Unemployed and scared, I learned to embrace my American privileges such as free enterprise and freedom of assembly.
Almost immediately upon launching OurMilkMoney.com, it was recommended that I get to know MomsRising.org. I've been an involved advocate ever since. As parents, we have a lot to fight for and no matter where you stand politically, its important that we educate ourselves to know how decisions made in government affect us and our families. With groups like MomsRising.org, we don't have to fight city hall alone. In fact, there is a great deal that is already being accomplished and its easier for you to get involved more than ever.
This week I am proud to introduce to you Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, the co-founder and the Executive Director of MomsRising.org. Together we will be exploring how we can work together to make a difference.

We've talked about everything else. Time to make some money.
There is just no other way around it. You need to start bringing in an income. But not just any income-- one that matches your hard work and value. You have the idea, but now you need to turn it into cash. You've bartered, you've sacrificed, you've made that leap into self-employment, but you need to see green, and you need to see it N.O.W.
I just returned from Tory Johnson's Spark and Hustle Conference, and I am fired up! Forget the small talk, and lets get serious. What matters now is the TENACITY, the HUSTLE, and the MOOLAH.
Its time for you to obtain the missing knowledge that is necessary to cut through the crap and conquer any road blocks you may have in your way. Money may not buy happiness, but it will buy you the freedom to make your own decisions and never have to report to another boss, other than yourself, again. Join me this week when I share with you what I learned about how to hustle and how to bring your strength of purpose directly to the bank.
Yep, its time to get you some money.
Excited to be introducing you to my Co-host for the week, Saralee Leary- who happens to have been my roommate at the Spark and Hustle conference last weekend. There's no better person to come on the show and help me share with you the magnitude of what every participant took away from this event.
Also, not to be missed is our fantastic guest for the hour, Sarah L Cook from Raising CEO Kids, who has a giveaway for out listeners! A FREE CEO Kids T-Shirt. To enter, all you have to do is LIKE The Raising CEO KIDS Facebook Fanpage and leave a comment with “I want the Free T-Shirt”.
Friday 4th of February 2011
If you've been following along with us so far, you know that this Friday I will not be available to host the show as I will be attending the Spark and Hustle Women's Conference in Los Angeles with Tory Johnson of Good Morning America, and I plan to give a full report upon my return!
As we say in show biz, "The show must go on!" so in my absense I am handing over the show this week to....
The Pommos!!
First, whats a Pommo?
Parents of the Our Milk Money Organization. If you are a self-employed parent and you are listed on the OMM Business Directory, you are a Pommo. (Its a term of endearment!)
Second, a show without the host?
Actually, this week, you'll have 2 of them. Lead by our wonderful staff members, Julianne Alvarez-Wish and Kelly St.Clair, this show will be all about the Our Milk Money Organization! Only this time you won't hear me bragging about my own creation. You'll get to hear it straight from the horse's mouth. Thinking about joining? How about becoming a volunteer staff member? This is your opportunity to learn all about the insides of the organization, what the members are getting out of it, and how great I am to work with!
(ahem)
Julianne, Kelly and several members of Our Milk Money will be taking over the airwaves to share stories, inspiration and such big hearts - believe me, its a party you won't want to miss!
Friday 28th of January 2011
Two (thousand) heads are better than one.
I do my best not to share my personal politics on the show because I don't want to run the risk of blowing my cover that I may be on the other side. Especially in this day and age. We've all become so divided and angry. It's gotten brutal out there.
Which is why I was incredibly moved to see Congress sitting together as one unit during the President's State of the Union on Tuesday night. Yep, I was one of those people who signed the petition urging Democrats and Republicans to "mix it up" but I admit I was too cynical to think it would actually happen.
So when I witnessed the unity, it was not easy to fight back the tears of deep benevolence. It gave me more hope than I have felt in a long time, and it inspired me to do what I can to keep the harmony circulating.
Aren't we all just striving to live the happiest, healthiest and most peaceful lives possible? How could we be all that different from one another?
We forget how powerful we are when we commit to working together towards a common goal, and we also forget how distracted we allow ourselves to become by focusing on the negative. Our time is precious enough as it is, so why waste it being counter productive?
This week, I am going to be talking about the importance of aligning yourself with those who help you to flourish, rather than wither. We are also going to talk about the power of numbers and what we can accomplish together by committing to matching principles, pooling our resources and joining forces.
As part of my CO-HOST FOR A DAY program, I have invited Maureen Daniels of The Shoppers Galleria and The Online Shopping Mall to share the show with me. To learn more about the program, or to submit yourself for consideration, read more.
Our guest this week is Teri Amos-Britt, a former Miss USA winner, now a mother, an author and a spiritual coach, is a terrific example of how positive influence can make an enormous impact in our own lives as well as in the lives of others. Teri is generously offering a free giveaway for the listeners:
An audio meditation: Grounding in God’s Light

How are we supposed to keep up with it all?
As a parent, you barely have time to breathe, let alone keep your profile up-to-date on all the latest social media sites. Running your own business can be maddening enough while you are taking care of your family...but the thought of keeping up with social media might make your head hurt.
This is where we dive into the technology that surrounds us, why there seems to be a lot more pressure to accomplish a lot more than in generations passed (there is!) and how to manage it all in an organized fashion without staying up until 3am each day. Oh, and there is more!
With the help of our terrific guest, we will not only be talking about how to stay caught up with the social media trends, but how to get ahead. Chuck Hester is a LinkedIn power connector with more than 10,000 direct connections. He is a sought-after expert on the subject of using LinkedIn for media relations, personal and professional branding, and how to use social media to build business contacts. He’s addressed conferences thought the country and the world, including NewComm Forum, the Inbound Marketing Summit and the Hargraves Institute’s Innovations Conference in Sydney, Australia.

The most common challenge I hear from the parents who are searching for a new avenue that will allow them to earn an income from home is this:
I don't know what I can do.
The amount of times I hear that phrase is staggering.
It's time that we dive into this common issue. Why is it we feel so inadequate and unaccomplished? Are we still all searching for our purpose in life? Is it possible you were really branded with no such talent to offer the world?
The most important thing that we will be talking about on Friday is how to figure out what kind of lemons you were handed in this lifetime, and where you are under-utilizing yourself. Remember those career assessment tests they made us take in grade school? This show will be a bit like that, only it won't be so broad as to try and fit your peg into the wrong shape. Its time for you to discover the gift life has given you, but more than that, its time for you to share your gift with the world. You can truly do anything you want. Now lets discover exactly what that is.
I'll be bringing on several terrific examples of small business entrepreneurs who have built their own lemonade stands from the lemons that they were given. Plus, I will welcome any of you to join us as a guest on the show to tell your personal lemons to lemonade business story.

Chris Hogan, Director of Wealth Coach Program The Dave Ramsey Show
Chris Hogan might have been the most unlikely person to wind up working as a financial speaker. Why? Years ago, Chris was an All-American college football player who pushed future NFL players all over the field—far removed from the world of helping others find Financial Peace.
For Chris, the path from football to where he is today was a long, but meaningful, journey. While he was a vice president of a well-respected company, helping clients manage all phases of their businesses, he realized how so many families, marriages and children were being affected by money issues. He felt powerless as he sat behind his desk and watched his clients throw away their financial futures. Chris knew things needed to change.
That’s when he met Dave Ramsey, and his career found a new direction. Today, he helps spread Dave’s message of financial hope to audiences everywhere. An engaging and humorous speaker, Chris is an expert on subjects like mortgages, healthcare and investing. To promote financial education, he speaks at colleges and businesses, and conducts on-site training sessions at companies. Chris also works with high-profile clients, such as athletes, entertainers and businessmen, to help them develop a financial strategy to protect their wealth and secure their future.
Chris has had insurance licensure and banking certifications in three states. He holds an undergraduate degree from Georgetown College and a master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Chris lives with his wife, Melissa, and their three sons in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Topics
Money: Management, Investing & Everything In Between
Mortgages, Insurance & Large Life Purchases
Wealth: Growth, Management & Giving

Business Growth & Development
Chris oversees The Lampo Group, Inc. Wealth Management Services. He is also a Senior Financial Counselor and Director of The Lampo Group, Inc. Wealth Coach Program. His primary focus is helping his clients develop an appropriate and comprehensive financial strategy and then working directly with those clients to help them monitor and evaluate the strategy in light of their goals and needs. Mr. Hogan also works closely with other members of the Lampo team and other professionals to provide a select group of his clients with comprehensive wealth management services including budgeting, future planning and preparation, estate planning, retirement planning and risk management strategies.

Its the last show of 2010 and significant for other reasons as well...
It marks our 40th live show together. Its my birthday episode. It will be our last show together before we head into 2011.
As we round up this year and spend the next couple of weeks shopping, celebrating, indulging and gearing up for our new years resolutions, I thought it would be a good idea to spend our last show of the year together in reflection and commemoration.
HEY! WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?
You may already know the story about the mice so appropriately named Sniff and Scurry, and their "little people" friends, Hem and Haw. If not, you are in for a real treat. Who Moved My Cheese was a book written by author Spencer Johnson more than 10 years ago, which inspired a following that remains thriving today. The story of Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw is a simple parable about the world we live in, the natural progression of the planet's need to change and what happens when we are resistant and unwilling to evolve with the rest of nature.
I love sharing these insights with you! Let this be my gift to you as we head into the most celebrated time of year.
As an added bonus, I'll be bringing on special guest, Jaime Tardy, a debt free entrepreneurial business coach from The EventualMillionare.com, who gave up her 6 figure income to stay home with her children and become her own boss.
The phone lines will be open for live listeners! Call 877-864-4869 or if you are unable to listen live, but would like us to address something on the air please fill out this form.
I am looking forward to being innovative with you!
Friday 10th of December 2010
Some people are just naturally talented at giving and receiving. The rest of us could stand for a little tutorial.
Knowing how to give as well as knowing how to receive are 2 equally important skills to have, especially this time of year. I've recently come into some new revelations that have helped me see the holidays for exactly what they should be: A time to appreciate your loved ones and share quality time together.
Are you gagging yet?
If you are, this show IS NOT for you, I'm warning you. Its going to be a feel good, tear jerking, ooey gooey, warm and fuzzy, overly sugary, live radio event that will make you want to call up any estranged relatives or long lost friends to tell them what they have meant to you. Get ready to feel like an emotional pregnant woman who cries at M&M commercials and wants to hug everybody.
I'll be bringing on 3 women who are total heroes in my eyes.
You may remember my dear friend, Shannon Penrod of Every Day Autism Miracles. She will be giving amazing advice to a mom who wrote to me asking for support in her very challenging situation. We are going to work together to help this very brave mom looking to give her family the very best.
In addition, I will also be bringing on 2 of my dear friends and fellow neighbors, Jennifer Samuelson and Andi Wilson who recently discovered a homeless family and helped them to get fed, clothed, sheltered, and connected with distant relatives who would take them in. It's an amazing story- and literally only a few weeks old!
Its knowing women as brave as this, with their selfless and heroic deeds that make me want to choose to give more often and for nothing in return. If you have a heroic, feel-good story, please feel free to call in and share it with us!

So what if you are a little late in joining the cyber party?
Blogging has been around for what, a little more than 10 years now? Yet, there are still so many of us who don't have a clue what its all about. Now, now. There is no reason to feel defensive. Remember, we are here to HELP YOU.
Maybe you were just a little too preoccupied with other things in your life (and who could blame you?) You've heard about mom bloggers, you admit that you are especially intrigued by how one might actually earn a decent income from blogging, and you'd like to know what the real deal is. It sounds a little too good to be true, but rather than risk looking like a complete moron, you'd rather not ask.
If this sounds like you (even just a tad) join us this Friday to learn the basic scoop and come out of the darkness once and for all.
Joining me on the topic of blogging will be none other than the terrific gal who has been propelling The Our Milk Money Blog Spot to greatness, Ms. Julianne Alvarez-Wish.
Thanks to the technology age, blogging is yet another career the stay at home parent might choose when looking to earn some extra revenue in between carpooling, naps and laundry folding...but its not quite as simple as it sounds.
We know you've got questions.
We'll be covering topics such as how to get started writing your own blog, why its important to have a blog for your already established business, how to earn revenue by blogging, and how to get free products as a blog product reviewer.
In addition, for those who already have a blog, we'll be sharing some tips and tricks that will guarantee great improvements on the future success of your blogging and improve your blog's exposure.
Friday 19th of November 2010
There is really no telling which event is going to have the largest impact on who we are or how it affects the way we choose to lead our lives...
Have you ever experienced something that has truly altered your core beliefs and became the one thing that lead you into your greatest self?
Its inevitable that at some point in our existence there will be a life changing event for all of us. Perhaps it will be a near death experience or even the loss of a loved one. These events force us to confront our current behaviors, re-examine the consequences of our perpetual lifestyles and re-map our life's purpose, or perhaps its just that these moments are the ones that define us and give us the purpose we've been searching for. Depending on the nature of these moments and how you perceive them, even the most tragic events will later transpire as blessings in disguise and precious life lessons.
How do you weather the storms in your life? Are you able to recognize the miracles that emerge out of the moments least likely? Would you be more willing to trek through the tempest if you knew the reward at the end of it would be abundant and plentiful?
It is discussions like these that help us to realize what we are truly capable of and what is required for us to achieve all that we have ever wanted.
Join me in welcoming Friday's guests to the show, Kim Upstone. A member of Our Milk Money, she is the author of A NEW DAY A NEW VISION, and she has recently published a new book called, All I Want is Everything.
Friday 12th of November 2010
If you have ever felt like you can't keep up with the chaos in your life and you just don't know where to turn... help is on the way.
You already know how I feel about the super mom syndrome. I beg you not to get caught up in trying to do more than you can, lest you get sent to the nuthouse as I once was.
But the REAL issue isn't always about being a trooper. Many stay-at-home moms and dads are simply at their wits end with all they have on their plate and the biggest challenge is where to turn when they are in need a helping hand. Why is it so difficult to get a little support nowadays? This week I am going to start off the show with some tips and tricks on how to get the help you need for either minimal or no cost, where to find it, and even how to get those adorable kids of yours to pitch in now and again. Yes, even the 3 year old can do her part.
I just adore this week's guest and I just know you will as well. 24 year old Entrepreneur and Business Inspiration, Ms Samantha Davis of Sammy Davis Vintage will be joining us to spread her feel good mission and inspire us to keep our positive perspective especially as it relates to self-struggles, self-doubt and self-criticism. When I first began my journey with Our Milk Money, Sammy was one of my biggest supporters (and a terrific mentor!). At the time she was only 21 and just about to graduate college, but she taught me the importance of self love and self trust in my visions for the future. Sammy is a terrific and shining example of how to keep going even at the worst of times and she'll be diving into her own experiences on Friday. These are the greatest stories to be told and I just had to have Sammy come on TLPSH to share her empowering narrative of all that she overcame to reach her success. These are the chapters for our books, my friends!
Friday 5th of November 2010
With an overcrowded schedule, its hard enough to multi-task our daily tasks. How can we be expected to squeeze in "healthy" time?
Believe me, I know that finding time to work out is as difficult as finding time to sleep on most weeks. As a stay-at-home parent, you may feel like you have less time on your hands, but as your own boss, you have more control of your schedule than ever before. Remember, you must contribute to your healthy self or your machine will not function at its most optimum standard, and as a busy work-at-home mom or dad, there isn't much room for malfunctions.
Besides getting the blood pumping and the brain cells producing, staying active is a terrific way of de-cluttering your mind and piecing together all those fragmented ideas that might otherwise keep you up at night. If you belong to a gym with a daycare-you have even more of a reason to make the trip a weekly priority. How often do new moms get to take a long and uninterrupted shower? The child care alone is worth the price of the monthly membership to your local gym. Put on your headphones and listen to the “Hey I love that song!" CD you just made. Or better yet, catch up on all those wonderful free podcasts of THIS LITTLE PARENT STAYED HOME on iTunes! (with yours truly as your adorable and amazing host.)
As long as we are talking healthy, we might as well dive into the haunting yet crucial reality of childhood obesity. This is one crucial epidemic that every parent should be aware of. One benefit to becoming a stay-at-home parent is how we can better involve ourselves in our children's healthy lifestyles. To aid me in this discussion will be expert and long time member of Our Milk Money, Marina McLennan, owner and creator of Exercise Rhymes, LLC. She has a terrific product, which I have been enjoying with both of my boys for several years now, and I am looking forward to sharing this dynamic individual with you!
Friday 29th of October 2010
This week we are going to be focusing on the Virtual Assistant trend. We'll be talking about the basic premise of virtual positions available in todays career world, and realistic expections about the role itself.
I am really excited to be able to bring you the details of a real opportunity to become a virtual assistant, as well as the opportunity to become a franchise owner of a virtual assistant business. Please join me in welcoming Patrica Beckman, the founder and CEO of Cybertary.com to the show on Friday. I'll have a ton of questions, and I am sure you will as well. Don't hold back if you want to know something!
Friday 22nd of October 2010
Wouldn’t it be great if a family of 4 could survive on a single salary like the old days?
According to Danny Kofke, its still incredibly possible. When Danny first requested an appearance on This Little Parent Stayed Home, I didn’t expect I’d become so excited. Although I do take several moments to consider all requests, many of them are not neccessarily worthy of our time- or more specifically YOUR time.
Danny had my attention from the beginning. I believe what he has to share just might make an enormous difference in some of your lives.
He sent me his book How To Survive (and perhaps thrive) On A Teacher’s Salary which clearly laid out in simple terms how hard-working parents can live a wealthy lifestyle despite earning a modest income.
This brings up another important point of choosing the appropriate career for yourself.
PASSION.
A teacher is the lowest paying college degree required profession in the country, which pretty much guarantees that no one chooses to become a teacher for the salary. However, when you are in love with your profession of choice, its not the money that drives you, its the feeling that you are making a difference.
DO YOU KNOW THAT FEELING?
If not, it is crucial that you make that your next goal. We’ll be discussing it on Friday’s show.
Money is cyclical and hollow. Unless you have a direct purpose for it, all the money in the world won’t buy you the motivation to do what you love most. When you are driven by an enthusiasm that comes from deep within and inspires you to make your mark on the world simply by being your best self, it stops being about the money. Aha! And yet that is exactly when we become determined to make enough to survive. It’s what all successful people have in common: a passion for their chosen careers.
Whether your passion is to teach, act, or stay home with your kids, encompassing unfeigned joy in your chosen field is the only way to determined your truest prosperity.
Friday 15th of October 2010
What if I told you that you could double or even triple the value of what you have in your bank account right now?
You'd would probably think I was selling you something, and I wouldn't blame you for assuming that. The very sentence REEKS of scam.
No. I am not selling you anything. (Just my show. And that doesn't cost you a thing.)
If you are still waiting to take that leap of faith, and the one thing that is holding you back is the big gaping hole that would be left in your budget where your salary used to be, then this will be the most important show for you, yet.
We are going to jump into a very rewarding and effective topic on Friday that I guarantee will result in your own bright light bulb filled with new possibilities..
I've been dangling this topic in front of you for awhile...
The ART of BARTERING
And by the way, that is the simple answer to how you can increase the value in your bank account. I am guessing that what you already know about bartering doesn't get you nearly as excited as it should. The complicated answer is really not that complicated at all, but you have to tune in to truly understand the big mystery. Learning how to barter effectively just might be the most important skill you need to be able to survive at home without that steady paycheck you are so reliant on. It's a brilliant little concept that only a shocking few are putting to good use, and among us we can all pretty much agree that we probably would not have survived without it.
Anybody can do it...yes, even you. You don't even have to wait until you are a business owner, and you don't need to learn a new skill. You already have everything you need! This will be just the beginning of our exploration of the subject. We've got lots to cover!
We'll be diving into some terrific marketing tips for the small business owner, with some expert advice by Lucinda Cross of Corporate Mom Drop Outs.
Also joining me on Friday will be my "co-host for a day," Dani Walker, a new Toginet Radio Personality launching her show Come Learn With Me which will be about health and wellness and will premier in November. Let's welcome Dani to the network with big open arms!!
Saturday 9th of October 2010
We can talk about it, or we can actually do it.
If you listened to last week's show you know that we are heading into some uncharted territory- and that is exactly the way I like it.
Parents, if you have been listening in each week, you already have the motivation you need to make a change for the better. I have no doubt. What you don't have are the tangible solutions to put your enthusiasm into action.
To give you a quick recap, a new line-up of show topics was announced last week. These next 13 weeks we'll be bringing you step by step tutorials on things like approaching your current employer with a telecommute proposal, surviving as a family on a single salary, and how to effectively barter yourself and your services to compensate for what may be lacking in your bank account. We'll bring you already established home based business models, like mom blogging, virtual assisting and project management, and a whole lot more.
If the last 30 shows were about staying sane and surviving, then the next 30 will be about putting objectives into action and thriving.
On Friday, I will be welcoming a very important guest- so important that I can almost guarantee one show will not be enough for Mr. Brian Harmsen, Founder and CEO of Designworks Talent, LLC. An ex-colleague of mine from once upon a time, Brian is one of those rare individuals who has a true understanding of business industry trends, but more importantly, he has the outstanding ability to translate it for the rest of us dummys. (I say it with love.)
I have always known that Brian had no business working for anyone other than himself. Visionaries like Brian are not often rewarded for thinking outside of the box in Corporate America, but once set free to run without any limitations, they are literally able defy gravity. So when he told me he had opened up his own recruiting firm, it felt as if our team just landed the star player of the century. Parent or not, as a business leader and entrepreneur he gets us, is rooting for us, and is able to inspire movement that is in favor of us.
To top it off, he'll be offering us insight that will drop your jaw to the ground. So place yourself at the front of the class, and get ready to take some notes. This is just the beginning of how you will begin to understand your place in the virtual workforce and in rediscovering your path to legitimate job security.
We are not just talking about it anymore, we are going to give you the guidance you've been asking for. The mission has not changed, but it just became a whole lot more progressive. Lets get you home.
Friday 1st of October 2010
I am not convinced that I have brought enough people home with the advice I have given, so we are going to dig a little deeper into the nitty gritty. We are going to get way more specific- that is what you need, isn’t it? You need real tools to apply to your own situations. I don’t think you need motivation. if you are listening to my show- YOU’VE got the motivation. But I realized that I had forgotten what it was like to be venturing into a new business for the first time. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to be a business owner...and I think you also don’t necessarily want to become a business guru- which is almost what it seems you have to become in order to become your own boss….and that just isn’t true. I am not talking about turning you all into multi-million dollar ceos here. If you are hoping for that- you’ve come to the wrong place. This is for people- especially parents who want to regain the control in their lives. Its the jurisdiction and the ability to make decisions for yourself that comes with being your own boss. When you are your own boss, you call the shots, you set your own pace, how often you are there for your kids, and you just have more room and flexibility for life’s little emergencies. This is what we are aspiring towards together. if I can help just 1 parent achieve that kind of freedom, I will have done my job, but I will not rest until I’ve reached 1 million.
So, you want to hear about the new game plan? ooh. Excited.
Friday 3rd of September 2010
Its a new coaching day !! What DO YOU want to talk about?
I'll tell you what I want to talk about! Its the fascinating phenomenon of trends. Who sets them, and how do they come about? Are they really just a result of our current societal progression?
We can chew over what came first, the product or the current. Or we can create our own trend based on what our current society is in need of...or um, ahem...what we are in need of!
Imagine the power we have to create a global movement simply by working together and using our commonality as parents to drive our ambitions!!
You already know that I am on a mission to bring 1 million parents home...but I am also on a mission to support the ones who already at home. If you are with me, lets hear from you! The phone lines will be open on Friday, not just for those who are in need of coaching, but for those that have a voice and want to use it to be heard! Book your time on the air now!
Like so many open coaching days, the common question among the callers seems to be, "I want to start my own business but I have no idea what I want to do."
In the past, I've given specific steps that will help you see yourself and the value that you were intended to bring your community. But this week, I am going to take it a step further, implementing a true suggestion that might prove to be so valuable we could conceivably begin a sweeping new trend starting now!
Our most valuable asset in our modern society as parent entrepreneurs is each other. Why? Because we sell to one another. We are not only networking to grow our businesses, we are each other's target demographic!
Stay-at-home parents make up the largest group of consumers in America today- so if you cater to the needs of moms and dads, you are sure to be a success!
Saturday 28th of August 2010
There is nothing at all like much needed time away to help us melt away the stress of our everyday lives. How many times have we lay in a relaxing spot of cleanse and detox, vowing and determined to harness the vacation bliss so that we may carry it with us into our post-vacation lives- only to have it wiped away abrubptly the moment we step into the airport terminal? The peace and serenity seem to fade simultaneously with our suntans...
Not this time.
I am proud to say that it is 4 days post vacation and I am still basking in the glow of my week at the Jersey Shore where I let eager relatives chase after my kids for once. I spent hours sand sculpting (for a little taste of my work, visit here!), meditating, boogie boarding, eating a ridiculous amount of unhealthy (but necessary) calories from the boardwalk in the form of taffy, fudge, caramel popcorn and drippy cheesy pizza.
It was...bliss.
And, yes, I brought it back with me. (The bliss as well as the taffy.) So, trust me when I tell you... it is possible.
I wanted to take full advantage of this blissful state - because who knew when I would have such an opportunity again? My experiment worked! These fresh, new discoveries of myself were unexpectedly monumental! I realized, without question, the mighty capacity we have as intelligent beings, the healing power of losing ourselves in uncriticized art, the magic of letting our creative juices flow without exposition and how to use it as an anchor when life becomes chaotic and we become jaded.
How easy it is for us to forget the importance of clearing away those pesky cobwebs that infest our unrested minds and hearts! Staying in a state of gratitude - even when everything seems to be falling apart- is crucial to our happiness and health. This is the answer! And yet, its so simple.
Sound hokey? Yep, I might think so too, if I was reading this. But before you get too comfortable in your cynicism, imagine for a moment the awesomeness of true bliss, and what it would do for you in your every day life.
Appropriately, this week's guest is none other than The Bliss Lady, Teri Williams. Yeah, I know. How perfect is that? I know you'll be glad you tuned in on Friday.
It's going to be a terrific show!
Saturday 21st of August 2010
Ally is on vacation, and the staff of OurMilkMoney.com is taking over for the second week with 2 more amazing guests!
Technology has continued to change our lives in immeasurable ways and information at the tip of our fingers has become the norm. As entrepreneurs, we know that the internet has opened the doors for business opportunities all around us.
Watch out now - here comes our tech-savvy teenagers, growing up with computers at their disposal and information-on-the-go being all they have ever known.
Two years ago, at the age of 14, Ava Anderson may not have seen herself as a teenage entrepreneur. However, an alarming special about dangers in the cosmetic industry led her on a mission to find “safe” skin care products. She bought, researched and tried products, recommending those with lower toxicity through her newly created blog. Over that year, she became increasingly frustrated with the limited choices in the marketplace.
Through a family contact, Ava made a trip to New York with her own entrepreneurial mom, Kim, to meet with a well respected skin care manufacturer. The goal was to see if they could make some safe products for Ava. That very meeting led to the start of Ava Anderson Non-Toxic, an eight month old product line currently distributed nationwide through a direct sales force and one of the fastest growing direct sales company’s in history.
We are excited to have Kim and Ava Anderson joining us this Friday to get the whole low down on filling a niche, choosing their marketing strategy, developing a direct sales force and working for a 16 year old CEO. Kim has plenty to share about running her own business while raising her children and now working for one of them! Tune in this week!

Ally is on vacation, and the staff of OurMilkMoney.com is taking over the show with an amazing guest!
Have you ever known someone to start a direct sales business and shoot straight to the top? Someone who has had no previous experience in the industry, no special friends at the top, no magic fairy dust sprinkled on their head? Sometimes these are the “reasons” we believe others might be successful – especially when they do it quickly.
Several years ago, Mona had the opportunity to meet Allison LaMarr at an event when she was practically brand new to direct sales. She was sweet, happy and enthusiastic on the outside. What we didn’t know then was that she was a fireball raring to go straight to the top on the inside!
Over the course of the next several years, Mona watched Allison as she continuously set many impressive records with the 45 year old company. The ultimate achievement to go down in company history is leading her organization to become the fastest National Area ever! Today, in her very early thirties, she is officially “retired” from the direct sales business and embarking on a new adventure to Empower Women in Business around the world.
Are you ready to hear all her secrets?
Join us this Friday to learn more about Allison from her success tips on building a solid foundation and finding out where she is going in the future! We'll give you a little hint - it just may be a city near you!

Saturday 31st of July 2010
Imagine. Dream. Create. These and a little elbow grease are all you need to kick-start a fulfilling home-based business. Most times it takes a little money too, but not always.
I went into business for myself as a single parent and trust me, I had no change in my pockets. What I did have was motivation. I wanted to be at home to raise my kids. That was all the motivation I needed to keep my nose to the grindstone.
I knew what I loved to do and discovered more of who I was along the way. I loved people, writing and teaching. Those were elements of my blue print. I had a knack for communication and an ability to teach anything I learned. Those were my tools. And I was naïve enough to think I could be successful. Thank God! THAT was my investment. These three things were the cornerstones of my home-based business.
When it comes to economic development, I believe we’re in the most fruitful period ever. There are more opportunities for self employment now that there have been since before the industrial revolution mechanized society. We’re no longer forced to put our blood, sweat, tears, and gifts into fulfilling someone else’s dream - unless we want to, and that’s okay too. We’re free. We have choices!
Where do you stand? Is a dream or desire beckoning your attention? Would you like to spend your life doing something you love? Build your business! There’s no greater professional satisfaction than that of parenting a business from gestation to maturity - and beyond. Are you up to it? What have you got to lose?
Answering that last question will probably require more personal strength than any other leg of your journey, so be sure to examine closely before you answer.
What Have You Got To Lose?
Many will answer, “Well, I have a lot to lose; time, money, ambition… and what if I fail?”
My answer is this: In order to be successful with anything you do, be willing to set all of these concerns aside. Muster the courage to try something new; to put your ideas into action. Ascribe to the belief that,”It’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” (Who said that?) In our case, “It’s better to have given it all you’ve got and failed than never to have tried.” (This one’s mine.)
You’ve got a dream, you go for it. Do your homework. Look for everything you need to support you in workin’ it baby! Find a mentor; join a networking group. Ask for support! OurMilkMoney.com is a great place to start. If you have money, spend it wisely. If you don’t, look for free resources. They’re out there. Google alone has several things that will support your new venture.
Begin taking steps in the direction of your dreams. Do something, anything! You will set yourself up for some level of success. If you fail - find another way. Failure is feedback. It says, “Try another path.” That’s all. Just do it differently next time. Ask Thomas Edison, who tried over 14,000 times before he invented the light bulb. Ask Colonel Sanders (KFC) who shopped his recipe of eleven herbs and spices 1008 times before he got a bite (pardon the pun). They didn’t quit and neither should you.

We could all use a little faith, regardless of what size or shape it may appear in to you.
Whether you are transitioning into becoming a work-at-home parent, or you've recently become the victim of a lost job, you may be looking for some kind of sign that its all going to be okay. For many of us, these unforeseen circumstances have resulted in the choice to create our own employment, but this has proven to be no easy task. We are burning the midnight oil with research, marketing, website design, job applications, and more. We are watching our bank accounts disappear, our homes get foreclosed, and our confidence slip away. Its no wonder we feel cynical, doubtful, frightened, confused and alone. We are bombarded with mixed messages from every form of media, we are working blindly in a dark tunnel without a hint of light in any direction that tells us which way to walk, and we can't help but wonder how much longer we'll be able to survive without any answers. We are missing an important ingredient.
Faith.
When I met Reverend Hilde Brooks*, I was looking for spirituality but lacking hope. It was Hilde that showed me that faith can come in all shapes and sizes. Raised Jewish but married to a Catholic, and determined to find a compromise that made sense to both of us, we'd just about given up on our search after being turned off too many times finding everything too organized or rigid.
But Hilde led a different kind of sermon. It didn't seem to matter what preconceived notions we carried with us as her teachings didn't attach itself to any one denomination over another. Her sermons brought meaning and purpose in a world full of chaos, optimism and conviction out of hardship, and faith when life was most challenging.
As you know, I tend to get very personal on This Little Parent Stayed Home and I love to share the things that have played a significant role in my own journey.
I want to share Reverend Hilde*.
I am honored to have her join us this week and I am confident that you will come away from Friday's show with at least a little more faith and the belief that it will all be okay.
Monday 19th of July 2010
Not every parent feels that their ideal situation is to be home with their children...
... and there is nothing wrong with that. Period.
But to all the parents who do want to come home and are aching to triumph over all the obstacles preventing you from being able to do just that...we are here for you!
Several times this week, I spoke to someone who told me “I really do wish I could stay home with the kids, but my husband and I like our lifestyle and don’t want to give it up.”
Maybe you feel this exact way, and if that is the case, I can’t say I blame you for feeling like there is no other alternative. But if some part of you feels your family would benefit more overall from having you at home, I hope that you will at least explore the possibilities a little further. Don't deny yourself or your family what is best simply because it feels unattainable.
What if there was a way to have it all? The truth is, LIFESTYLE is only what we make it. Big corporate salaries and paid time off doesn’t always equal posh and luxurious lifestyles. If you are looking for ways to keep the fun and enjoyment in your life, enough to make it worth the loss of an entire income, then this is a good show to start with! Those of you who are already staying at home, you'll find a lot of value as well! This week we will be reminding you why you decided to stay home in the first place, and helping you to find the fun in your every day! Why not? You are officially the boss of your home! Together we will reawaken those childlike inhibitions and relish in the time we spend at home with our kids.
This week, our guest is *Silvana Clark Author of Fun-Filled Parenting: A Guide to Laughing More and Yelling Less, will be joining us to share tips and tricks on how to have free and low-cost fun (that doesn’t involve computers, videos or TV!) easy activities, games and crafts (even if you are uncrafty!) to enjoy with your children.
Friday 9th of July 2010
There is a new boss in town... its your child.
If you are a parent, you know that the love you have for your children fills an emptiness that neither a great career nor a sparkling house can fill. That concept is what will continue to drive us in our mission to provide top notch service from our home-based businesses without compromising our need to be great parents. We have taken our priceless, world class corporate experiences, and said so long to anyone who threatens our choice to create our own financial stability.
This is a new business community with a new set of rules. Where else would you get away with having a conference call with screaming children in the background? How about the ability to say, “I will not have the report until tomorrow because I am volunteering in my son’s preschool”? Parent Entrepreneurs collectively agree and practice this simple principle:
Family come first. Business comes second.
By working together, and exercising the same patience with one another as we learned when we became moms and dads, we have created a fantastic new society. Never again will we lose sight of where our loyalty lies and where it will be echoed.
This week we are proud to welcome OurMilkMoney.com member, Leta Hamilton, and author of the book The Way of the Toddler. Leta will be joining us Friday to help us explore the spiritual context of parenting. Together we will go to the heart of what it truly means to be a successful parent raising successful children.
Until then, kiss your kids and enjoy your week!

Bravo to the volunteers who call into the show on Open Coaching Days to share their journeys with our listeners!
Calling in to a live radio show to talk about your personal challenges takes guts. But you know what takes even more guts? Sacrificing the stability of an entire paycheck for the chance of a different way of life. Nothing about this process is easy. You are not alone.
It's been difficult for me to call myself an "expert" because really I am not all that different than any of you. I am figuring out how to make it work every single day. What I learn, I share. When I struggle, I share that too. I believe that there is always a solution to whatever challenges we may be having, and part of the fun is figuring it out. I am not super human. I am just enthusiastic about what I know we can achieve by working together.
This week, listen in and support the callers who are working diligently to make their dreams come true. They are supporting YOU by sharing their journey for your listening benefit.
Mona and I are looking forward to getting to know more of you this week, and of course, helping you accomplish your goals.
Friday 25th of June 2010
This is one of my favorite shows so far. Ironically Mona and I both had a terrible week, and so did my friend Shannon. We weren't sure we'd find the right energy to do the show, and of course it ended up being our most brilliant thanks to out terrific guest, Marla Tabaka. Shannon came on as a last minute volunteer to talk about her issues with money. Marla worked her magic, and we all grew a lot from this amazing process!
What is it that is holding you back? Is there something that is preventing you from getting exactly where you want to be?
If you have a long list of reasons why you are unable to accomplish your goals, you are no different than most. We all have obstacles! It can be frustrating, or it can make life interesting depending on the way you look at it. But if you are serious about breaking past your own limitations and achieving the kind of success you've only had in your wildest dreams, this is the show to listen to.
I met Marla Tabaka when I was first invited into the HerInsight Radio group, but it wasn't until I had the pleasure of working with her on Everyday Autism Miracles with Shannon Penrod, that I learned what a valuable commodity she is. In less than 5 minutes she taught me a technique that has completely changed my life and empowered me to overcome my own stubborn setbacks.
I am so excited that Marla will be joining us this week to share some of her secrets to success, especially the tool that became so valuable to me: EFT Tapping aka The Emotional Freedom Technique.
If you have concerns that you would like to resolve with this amazing and powerful technique, we invite you to join us and allow Marla to guide you in the experience first hand! Marla’s training and experience as a life and business coach bring powerful results to her EFT Tapping sessions.

Let's Hear it for the Boy!
In the last 30 years our gender roles have changed significantly, but it is my personal feeling that the last 10 have been the closest we've come to getting it right. In this modern day society, more and more men have surrendered themselves to a greater purpose of family. Whatever that means to them, they are more willing to do what it takes to provide and nurture. Dad's everywhere are opening their minds to new possibilities and different lifestyles than what they had known in the past. Whether it be staying at home with the kids while their wife commutes into the corporate workforce, supporting the mom who has chosen to start a new business, or something else, Dads everywhere need to be given recognition for stepping up when the going got tough, and stepping back when it was someone else's turn to be supported.
I am truly honored to be inviting these fantastic fathers to the show on Friday:
Nathan Bright, a hilarious and heart-warming guest blogger for the OMM Daddy's Den. He is a stay-at-home dad of 2 little girls, and the author of a terrific children's book "Maddi Patti and her Stay-at-Home Daddy."
Dave Ballard and Bill Wardell, partners in Cyberhood Watch, and stay-at-home Dads who are passionate about keeping the internet safe. You can hear them on Blog Talk Radio.
In addition to these fine gentleman, we will be opening up the phone lines for any other Dad's who would like to call in to the show. We are looking forward to possibly getting a few surprise visits!
Friday 11th of June 2010
It doesn't matter what product or service you are offering to your community. Marketing is everything. This Friday we'll be learning how to market your business like a Rock Star!!
You are not alone if you feel overwhelmed by the competition or what it takes to keep up on internet trends. Don't let these fears cloud your vision!
Instead of becoming frustrated by what you do not know, concentrate your efforts to promoting what makes you... you. Because you are the only one there is. As the only true expert on you, you are beyond your competition!
I am super excited to be introducing Craig Duswalt, my long time friend and personal business coach. Former personal manager to Axl Rose, award winning copywriter, Artistic Director for a Los Angeles Theatre, Creative Director for an advertising agency, professional speaker, author, and most impressively, a stay-at-home Dad, Craig is a true inspiration! Join us Friday for some Rock Star Expertise, and maybe if we're lucky, he'll share with us a few fun stories of what it was like to tour with Guns N' Roses.
PS. As an added bonus Craig is giving 2 Free Passes to his 4 Day Boot Camp Seminar to 5 lucky TLPSH Listeners!
Saturday 5th of June 2010
Maybe you were just dealt a terrible hand and you didn't get the luck that others get in this lifetime. Maybe you just don't have it in you to be a success. Maybe you are not smart enough, energetic enough, pretty enough, thin enough, or rich enough. Maybe you just don't work hard enough. Maybe your lazy.
If these are thoughts that often go through your head... this week's show is for you.
We are ALL guilty of these negative and unproductive thoughts, so don't think you are any different . One thing is certain, we need to stop beating ourselves up for it, because that just might be the most unproductive thing of all. The truth of the matter is that we are often clouded by our own fears and instead of taking time to conquer them, we end up getting in our own way. It's time to break past those limitations and get excited about taking the risks you were meant to take.
This week we will be talking about adopting an attitude that will change how you view your day to day life, your business, your marriage and your relationships.
Get ready to open your mind! Friday we will talk about learning to embrace everything about who you are, and how to capitalize on your individuality- which most definitely includes your imperfections.
It's an open coaching day so we'll be opening up the phone lines for you to discuss whatever challenges you may be having.*
Pour yourself a nice glass of wine, turn up the volume and laugh along with your friends, Mona and I. We'll be here to support you through yet another week, all the while reminding you that it's the journey that matters the most.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, feed him his entire life."
-Confucius
A couple of weeks ago, I made a bold declaration. What we are working on together, is to bring parents home. One million parents as a matter of fact, is what I stated to the world. And I’m not backing down. Nope, this goal means far too much for me and even more for YOU, the parent who is longing to be home with their child and doesn’t know if they can do it. Or the one who is already working at home and wants to grow their business. Or the one who’s business is already successful, and is looking to join our mission and connect with other work-at-home parents.
This is our movement, folks, ARE YOU ON BOARD? If so, Let us know! Sign the Parent Collective Now!
I am going to help bring 1 million parents home, but I can’t do it without those that are willing to help themselves. It may not ever be as easy as just handing out jobs like a placement agency. That is why the greatest gift I can give you is the resources and tools to be able to do it yourself.
But what if you don’t want to be your own boss? Maybe you know that you are better at working for someone else.
That is why I am thrilled to bring you this next topic on Friday. It’s one that I’ve been putting together for awhile. We’ve partnered with fellow Her Insight Networker Sharon Davis, host of “Your Way to Work at Home”. She is also the owner of the incredibly resourceful site 2Work-At-Home.com which features companies that actually hire telecommuters.
Like so many of us, Sharon is a mom who has been through the frustrations and challenges of trying to find a telecommute job, and she's been working at home successfully since 1999. Sharon will be joining us to share her experience and tell us exactly what we need to do to make out dreams of working at home a reality.
If you are looking for real answers about earning a legitimate income from home, this is a show you won’t want to miss!
Friday 21st of May 2010
If you need a good pick me up- this is a great show to listen to. Lots of laughs among girlfriends, talking about how we got through the toughest times, and then celebrating how far we've come! It's a show full of growth and productive discoveries!
Yes, I may be overly enthusiastic, but I still believe that anyone can learn to become a work-at-home parent. Now more than ever, I am determined to help you see your full potential to obtain the way of life you and your family deserve. You've already heard me talk about sacrifice, staying sane, budgeting and teamwork. Yet, it still feels like we are just barely scratching the surface.
Lets turn this up a notch.
You each have something valuable to offer your community, whether you realize it or not. You already have what it takes to create positive and meaningful change. You are your own instrument, so its important to keep you fine tuned.
This week we will be giving you more of the tools you need to become your best self, learn what sets you apart individually, and what you can contribute in cooperation to this new culture.
I am pleased and honored to invite a true inspiration to join us on the air. Passionate about the OMM mission right from the beginning, I once gave her a staff position because I was determined to have her on my team! Laurel Crossley-Byers, founder of Opti-mom, has become one of the most sought after speakers on the topic of Life Balance for the Entrepreneur and Business Professional. As my very good friend, I can tell you that Laurel is engaging, informative and completely hilarious. Mona and I will be welcoming Laurel to discuss her philosophy for the simplicity of living, and how a balanced mind, body and spirit produce a balanced life - something so many of us are seeking.
Two goals this week: Finding the simplicity in your life AND Fine tuning your instrument.
Friday 14th of May 2010
I am on a mission to bring home 1 million parents. But I can't do it alone. I am here to inspire, to educate, and support you...but you must make a commitment to yourself. What are you willing to do to come home? What sacrifices are you willing to make? What is being home with your kids worth to you?
We will continue these discussions this week as I introduce you to a valuable new element of This Little Parent Stayed Home:
I am pleased to acquaint you with My new co-host and "side kick" Mona Colwell.
Up until now, you may know her is the Direct Sales Expert on TLPSH, as well as on the Our Milk Money Blog, but she has also served as OMM's PR and Media Director.
It's important that we surround ourselves with supportive associates and close companions, especially when we give ourselves enormous missions like "bringing home 1 million parents." Lofty goals like this could never be possible without the proper reinforcements in place, such as my dedicated staff, of which Mona has been a part of. I have no doubt that Mona will be an excellent contribution to the show because as my counterpoint, she has an exceptional knack for provoking me to give my best exposition. When it comes to having someone in your corner, Mona is as devoted and steadfast as they come.
What makes her such an asset as my co-host on TLPSH is that even in the midst of her unwavering loyalty, she has no problem giving an alternate point of view, and balancing out my frenzic nature. Mona is just as passionate about our mission, but less outrageous. She's been my voice of reason, my rock, and my friend. Everyone should have a Mona in their lives- so I am please to announce that each Friday I will be sharing my Mona with you.
Speaking of friends, I am also proud to be bringing my very good friend and colleague, Shara Lawrence-Weiss as this week's guest. Shara is an incredibly resourceful and visionary leader among the work-at-home parent community. With a passion for children, reading and education, Shara is the current owner of Mommy Perks, the founder of Personal Child Stories, Early Childhood News & Resources and Kids Perks. Shara will be joining us to discuss the importance of Play Time/Outdoor Time for Kids, and providing much needed advice for those of us looking to find a healthy and productive balance while working at home.
I hope you are having a great week! We are looking forward to sharing another hour with you!
Friday 7th of May 2010
I mean it. No more messing around. I am telling it like it is. If I am going to bring home 1 million parents, I need to count on YOU to put on your boldest and bravest outfit. Are. You. With. Me?
It's what you've been asking for. You just want someone to give it to you straight. You got it.
You are sick of spending hours of research looking for the perfect work-at-home job that is going to replace your corporate salary. You are only finding rosy colored fabrications- none of which you are stupid enough to fall for. You can trust me. I'll be the first to tell you that those jobs don't exist.
You just wish someone would tell you the truth about what to expect. No problem.
You don't feel like any of this applies to you. Your situation is different than the ones talked about on the show. Okay, then. Bring. It. On.
You think I am kidding?
If you want to come home, there will be no more excuses. No more waiting for the perfect scenario. It doesn't exist. You can only prepare so much before you allow yourself to move forward. Let your fear drive you into a better reality, for your sake and your family's sake. Let the love you have for your beautiful children guide your convictions.
Without anguish there would be no passion. Without vulnerability there would be no courage. Without your family, you would never desire the need to discover a new part of yourself... the part that is willing to risk everything you have ever known for a better way. Don't waste one more second waiting to make the most of your quick little life with the darling little people who make that life so worth living.
Flex those muscles and give yourself the leverage you need to take back the control. Reclaim the power that will allow you to decide the best way to provide for your family and how often you are able to see them.
I am on a mission to bring home 1 million parents.
See you soon.

Show #11: Super Spousal Support: Becoming the Ultimate Mom/Dad Team when Bringing One of You Home.
Things are changing rapidly all around us, and that might be a bit confusing for some, but do not mistake it as a bad thing. Vulnerability and uncertainty are only opportunities to confront our fears head on.
You are not in this alone.
Whether you know it or not, you are surrounded by others who are like-minded, just as passionate, and just as willing to step into new, never before seen territory for the chance at spending as much of this lifetime as possible with their families.
Besides, you aren't alone. You have your family- the very thing that you are fighting for!
There is some good stuff here.
This new generation of parents encompasses the greatest amount of equality in history thus far, and I don't see anyone laying down and declaring a victory just yet. There is still more unity to achieve! More sacrifices to be made! More understandings to be shared! More awareness to be mastered!
There are men that still feel the financial burden of providing for their families on their single income, as their fathers did before them. Unfortunately this is not possible for the majority, so its been an incredibly difficult adjustment for them. There are women who once fought to take control of their financial destiny by proving to the corporate world that they are just as significant and impactful, but very few expected the maternal instinct to kick in with such industrial fervor, transforming every priority they'd ever known in their lives the moment they held their new baby in their arms.
Everything has changed.
All of a sudden, these men have become dads, and the women have become moms.
As caretakers, we have a little more understanding of one another, and have become a little less divided. In this new world, we have all had to redefine our gender roles as they relate to the family, and recreate a new set of rules geared towards our financial survival. This revolutionary time can be just as liberating for the men as it is for the women. Make no mistake, the most successful work-at-home moms are the ones that have the most supportive husbands rooting them on, fighting to be a part of your mission and adjusting to each new set of rules that gets thrown their way.
I know this because I happen to have one of my own.
I wouldn't have known where to begin any part of this journey without my husband, the most loyal friend I have ever known.
Adjusting to this new way of life hasn't exactly been a walk in the park for him, and he'll tell you exactly that, I am sure. But each step of the way has allowed us to grow stronger as parents, as providers, and as partners.
Joining us this Friday is none other than my amazing husband, life-partner, and soul mate. He is the one and only, Chris Loprete. This podcast has never been just for women, but ladies if there was ever a time to invite your husbands to listen in with you, it would be now. As the ultimate guy's guy and husband interpreter, he won't let you down - nor will he let us end the show without at least a giggle or two.
Friday 23rd of April 2010
Let's talk about money! (Wait, where are you going?)
I am not going to deny that this subject may seem a little daunting but it doesn't have to be, and we can't avoid it forever. Now that so much of our hard earned money seems to have to vanished into thin air, families across the country are being forced to make new decisions regarding mere survival.
We CANNOT let this fear control us and prevent us from moving forward. We are in this together. We must choose to fight past this uncertain time and use our power in numbers to work towards a new solution. Are you with me?
It's time we had this discussion.
A career in Corporate America no longer represents financial stability the way that becoming one's own boss does. We must stop expecting for things to go back to the way they were and embrace this as a necessary change in our society.
This is the time I like to call "the storm before the rainbow." Storms aren't all bad if you know how to wait it out. Getting there is half the fun. When the rain finally stops, the air will be clear, the earth clean, and the sky filled with color.
Count on it.
It's time we set ourselves free from the fear that is causing our limitations. We must open up our hearts and our minds to see all the potential of a clean slate.
Let's get creative!
As parents, we are more resourceful than ever, and with enough commitment, we are capable of making gold out of garbage. This show is dedicated to help you re-examine your financial situation, realize the value you still have in yourself, your assets, and your future. Together we will release the power that money has on us, and capitalize on our ability to live a quality life on a shoestring budget. Let's put things in perspective and simplify our over extended lifestyles. Often we can provide for our families in even MORE substantial ways simply by getting creative. If you truly want to become a stay-at-home parent, this show is crucial for your survival: mentally and literally.
This week, I am proud to welcome two incredible guests to aid us in this discussion. Beth Engelman and Jenna Riggs are co-hosts of the radio show Mommy on a Shoestring also part of the Her Insight Network. These two ladies are incredibly inspiring and successful work-at-home moms who have made careers out of "living rich" by staying creative and thrifty.
Also, you asked for it!! Due to popular demand, Katie Dean of Oh! Katie Cookies will be returning to the show. We've received so many wonderful letters from listeners telling us how much they enjoy following her journey as a new entrepreneur. Thank you for cheering her on!
It's going to be a great hour!! See you then :)

I am on a mission to bring home 1 million parents! Will you join me in this revolution? Parents are sick and tired of being enslaved by their corporate jobs, the unsteadiness of the economy and missing out on precious time with their children. As an alternative to daycare, families are working together to bring one parent home to stay with the kids in an old fashion way- but this time, the stay-at-home parent must learn to supplement the family income. Ally Loprete opens up the phone lines for listeners to call in and get expert advice on their personal situations. Whatever the challenge, bring it on! Together, we will figure out a way to bring you home.

Whether you are looking to become a work-at-home parent, or you already are one, you’ll be amazed to learn that the rules from your old job may not apply to this community.
The Parent Entrepreneur community has tripled in the last 2 years, and it continues to grow month after month. This is no longer a trend. It has become a way of doing business for so many parents. Top executives, take note! Parent Professionals have had to re-think the way they conduct business, the way the network, the way they pace themselves, and who they build relationships with. Finding a solid community of support is a necessity to the success of any home based business. Parents have joined together in a collaborative effort to create a community with a whole new set of rules.
You’ve heard me talk about some of them:
Don’t ever apologize for your kids when on a business call.
Don’t work until the kids are in school or in bed.
Kids come first and work comes second.
Choose to work with other parents who “get it”.
You are the boss, so work at a pace that makes sense for you and your family.
This is most likely the most challenging time of your life. You never stop learning how to be parent, and now you are learning to run a small home based business. The parent business community is here to support you, and we want you to thrive!
I expect this to be our most inspirational show yet. This topic truly excites me because the progress that we have made as parent entrepreneurs in the last 3 years is truly revolutionary. To help welcome you into the parent business community, I have invited *Laura Wintemute of BizEworks to join us. We will be discussing the importance of supporting your local community, successful networking and the benefits of “paying it forward.”
We are looking forward to having you join us!

Do we dare talk politics even at an attempt to stay neutral? Is it even possible right now?
There are heated disputes and vicious bickerings all around us. Arrows are being flung back and forth between friends and family members on Facebook, Twitter has become a mass of short and sweet cheap shots, and it is all at the ironic expense of our nation’s health (pun intended). Most American’s have not even read the health care reform bill, and yet they have no problem delivering their arrogant and uninformed “expertise”.
(I admit, I am one of them.)
Given the acrimonious state of the people on BOTH sides, you may think its not possible to discuss government or policy in a neutral way…but I’d like to try. It’s important that we learn what the bill is about before scratching each other’s eyes out…and maybe, just maybe…we’ll lose the desire to grapple once we realize…we are not nearly as divided as we thought.
*Julianne Wish may not be of the same political affiliation as myself, but we are friends and colleagues who have at least one shared goal: Becoming more united as parents and entrepreneurs, becoming less divided in the political arena, and striving to gain as much real information as we can to obtain a true understanding of our current situation and what it might mean for our future. (Er, make that 3 shared goals). We are both passionate advocates for parents and their children. So, if our goals are truly the same, its just a matter of finding the best way to get there. It is my hope that we’ll have such a productive discussion that we’ll be showing D.C. how it should be done.
I have invited Julianne, who is one of the few people I know to have actually read the bill, to speak with us about the newly passed legislation, and help us to see how it will affect us personally, our families and our small businesses. There will be no battling or battering, and we will keep our personal opinions out. Instead, we will be working together to represent the facts without the slant, and explore the components without the criticisms.
We know there is conflict. Our intention is not to add to it. Nor is it to convince you to choose one side over the other.
The intent is to give you the tools you need to understand the health reform bill and how it affects YOU. Perhaps we’ll get really lucky and it will advance us one step further toward our own goal of becoming less divided.

As you know, I am on a mission to change the way we all shop, and to educate the public on the value of purchasing from a family owned and operated business. I believe that the broken economy is actually an opportunity for us to rebuild it in a way that works for us rather than against us, and as a result of so many lost jobs over the past 2 years, self-employment has risen more than 20%. So as part of my mission, I support these parent-run businesses by making as many purchases from them as I possibly can...and changing my purchasing behaviors.... so that I am not spending anymore money that I was in the past...And yes, I do purchase some of these products from parents who run a direct sales business out of their home, and I have no problem listing them on the OurMilkMoney.com business directory. Why would I have a problem with it? If its a good product, and similar in price to a product I've purchased from a megastore, I'll switch over. And in most cases I’ve been pretty satisfied with the level of customer service, the price and with the product itself. So, I don't care if it came from an MLM or a private source... if my money goes directly to the parent... then it is within my mission. However, I do have to draw the line somewhere, and in a lot of cases, I have not been happy with the products, some were over priced, for some it was set up in a way where you have to buy a certain amount each month and your credit card will automatically be charged and new product sent to you whether you are ready for it or not, membership fees...all issues that are debatable, and I know there are 2 sides to everything...but the biggest issue I have about businesses such as these is that it often has very little to do with the product itself. For some people, it’s obvious that the real goal is not to introduce you to the products, or to build a real client/consumer relationship… for some, it’s all about selling the opportunity… and you can smell it a mile away. It’s offensive, especially when someone asks me to buy into their opportunity and there is obviously no regard for the fact that I am already a business owner with a mission of my own. In these cases in becomes clear to me that they are not making very much money on selling me the products and the real incentive is for them to get as many people as they can to sell the products FOR them so that they can earn a residual income.
the stigma is this...everyone wants to get money for free. I sure would. But it’s not really ethical. It feels like stealing. I am not saying that it is...but when something is described to me as this” I barely have to do anything! The money just comes pouring in…” that is when my red flag goes up.
Now the reason I wanted to talk about this today is because I sincerely want to help the situation. I see so many good honest people, and strong passionate parents buy into these opportunities and fail...and I’d like to see less of that happen. I want to see parents who have chosen to stay home succeed.
But in many cases it seems like the businesses that they buy into are full of empty promises, or they weren’t upfront about the type of work that it would involve, or the incentives are set up to recruit people rather than sell products and services to people. It’s as if many of these businesses are preventing its own success by the way it is being approached.

My goal is to support all parent and their home based businesses, so I want to address this subject as a way of helping those that have chosen an MLM as their profession to find success, and not hurt their chances for success by compromising their own business integrity.

Continuing the discussion of Ally's 3 day trip to "the nut house" this show finalizes a list of "musts" for the work-at-home parent. This is a list of rules that you need to follow to keep your mental health and sanity where it should be when you are trying to be "supermom". Also, Shannon Penrod joins us from "Everyday Autism Miracles" to discuss how ABA, (AKA Behavioral Therapy) can be used to discipline ALL children, not just ones with Autism. Secrets are revealed!

You have just started your own business, and there is 3 times the amount of work that you expected, you have 2 kids under the age of 3, a mortgage that isn’t getting any smaller, a household to run… and only 12 hours in a day….
How are you supposed to handle all of this without going insane?
Please don’t call me “Supermom”
I don’t have any super powers, and I certainly have a breaking point just like the rest of the world.
There is a misconception among work-at-home parents that we have to do it all, and have it done YESTERDAY. The more moms and dads I speak to, the more I realize we are all very similar. Parents today are simply amazing- but then again we HAVE to be. Of the parents that I know that are working full time- or even part time- and raising a family and a household, none of them are doing it just because it’s fun for them, or because they were looking to do MORE in their lives. Most of us are doing it because it’s what is necessary for our families to survive in today’s world. Our families need us to try and bring in a supplemental income because one income is not enough. Not even those with college degrees and higher educations are able to provide for their families on one income. It’s not their fault, and we certainly don’t blame them. It’s just the way it is.
Before you choose to let someone who seems to be able to do it all overawe you and minimize what you know you are capable of doing, LOOK CLOSER. If there are days that you feel you are barely staying afloat, take a moment and look at the others in your very same pool treading water. Perhaps they are looking at YOU and wondering how you got YOUR superpowers. Pat yourself on the back, because you have accomplished something today.
This week, with guest *Lori Lite, owner of Stress Free Kids we will be discussing how easy it is to let yourself get overwhelmed, and how to manage your time between running a new business, caring for your children and running a household. It’s hard work, but for many parents, the hardest part is scheduling time to take care of your own health. This is such an important topic, and my hope is that you’ll come away from this show feeling less stress and more confidence in your abilities as a parents and as business owners.

Celebrating Hollywood Baskets 1st Annual Academy Awards Swag Gift Bag. Given to nominees and presenters staying at The Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles…and to one lucky winner on This Little Parent Stayed Home National Podcast!
Well it’s about time we were treated like ROYALTY!!
For many of us, the mega superstars that walk the red carpet on Oscar Sunday is the only royalty we will ever really know. Where my family lives, in SoCal, Oscar Sunday is practically a holiday. This time of year everyone around us has been scrambling for months to watch the nominated films in time to be able to have their true opinions for the big day. In our younger days, we always had at least 2 or 3 Oscar parties to choose from, and although some of them were black tie optional, the only clear option was the party with the least amount of “talkers”. Because as only the serious Hollywooders know, you don’t make a peep during a Royal Superstar’s speech. It’s just… not…cool.
So when Lisa Gal, a new member of OurMilkMoney.com, superstar mom and owner of Hollywood Baskets, a custom gift basket delivery service, contacted me and told me she was in charge of handing out the Swag Party Favors for the red carpet walkers and presenters themselves… well, I knew that we needed to celebrate. Lisa will be a guest on the show next week, and in honor of Oscar week, she has VERY generously offered to give away one of her Swag Party Favors to a lucky listener of This Little Parent Stayed Home.
For those not familiar with the term SWAG- it stands for “Stuff We All Get”. Love that watch you saw on Clooney? Want to get the same necklace as Charlise? Wonder what was in all those swag bags on the arms of your favorite stars? Small and unknown companies have gotten mega-exposure in years past at the Academy Awards by using a cutting-edge marketing strategy of gifting and pampering celebrities and VIP’s. The baskets themselves, complete with the goodies inside can be worth anywhere from $2000- $50,000. This one is valued at OVER $7,000!!
I don’t know anyone more deserving of that kind of indulgence than the everyday parents of today’s society. The question is…who will the lucky winner be?
Topics today also cover using your own resources to start your own business, the power we all have as consumers, parents working in corporate America who feel enslaved by their jobs, making that leap of faith into becoming a stay-at-home parent and so much more!

Small businesses run by parents have exploded in the last 2 years, and there are a ton of books and websites popping up all over the place on the subject. But the thing that sets This Little Parent Stayed Home apart from the rest is that it speaks to ALL parents, and both genders. I don’t mean to criticize the motivational movements that are empowering women, but very often it seems as though it is done in a way that puts blame on the men. In fact, every where I look there are groups that aim to empower and inspire, but they end up counter actively segregating themselves with mass amounts of finger pointing and blaming some other group. There is division everywhere we look. It begs for us to examine more closely if we are really as divided as we think we are.
This show will begin the discussion of all the things we try to avoid at parties. Politics, Religion, Marriage, Gender issues, and big business vs. small business. This show will not attempt to persuade you into joining into any group over another, but will encourage you to adopt the viewpoints that make sense for our productivity and our common goals as parents. We’ll begin with encouraging you to make a conscious decision that will open and expand your minds and your hearts, by letting go of assumptions, and societal misconceptions of what the ideal family situation should be.
We’ll be celebrating the fathers who are staying at home while the mothers go earn the larger salary, and exploring all the ways that families can work together to bring one parent home. Stay at home father, *Chris Mancini will be joining us as a guest to talk about how his family achieves this result, and how he is still able to use his skills to earn a supplemental income for his family.

I am constantly amazed at the parents that I meet on the OurMilkMoney.com business directory. When I think of all the things the Parents of the Our Milk Money Organization are accomplishing together, and the cooperative efforts that are occurring in thousands of families across the country, I can’t help getting a little teary eyed. For so many of these warm-hearted and attentive moms and dads, taking that leap of faith into becoming self-employed was one of the scariest things they’ve ever done.
The Parents of the Our Milk Money Organization are some of the most heroic and spirited people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and they should be commended for their courageous efforts to provide for their families. When I had first founded the concept, I had set out to inspire parents to join together and fight for a better reality. So you can imagine my delightful revelation when I realized that it was me who was being inspired by them.
It is my genuine pleasure to introduce you to these fantastic individuals on my first broadcast, and I know you will enjoy staying connected to them week after week.
Many of these parents have donated fantastic products and services from their home based businesses. Please take a moment to register and tune in to win!
Thank you for tuning in each week. Together we will change the world.
