I have loved the quilts Nancy Kern makes for many years. She is an applique artist and specializes in quilts that look like the antique masters, often in the Baltimore style. I really enjoy Nancy's masterful use of fabric to in her applique shapes. She is going to share how she does that with me today!

April Rosenthal is a Quilt designer, new fabric designer with Moda, and she has a book coming out soon! April is also a busy mom with twins and another on the way. She has written about her quilting journey at her site and is so encouraging to everyone that they CAN be creative. I'm excited to have her share some tips and encouragement today, and give us a peek at her design process!
And April has this free pattern, which is just one block in a series. I think it would be great as a whole quilt of stars with just one embroidered, or as a pillow!
If you have ever asked anyone what to put inside the quilted totes and bags you are making, someone will suggest the interfacings created by Annie Unrein! ByAnnie is her company name. She has a whole suite of bag making products and patterns. Plus tutorials and videos. I'm excited to have Annie here to share about how to make an awesome looking bags and other projects that need a firm inside layers.
