American Patchwork and Quilting Pocast guest Linzee McCray Aug 2015

The love of the  story behind a quilt maker is something Linzee McCray and I share. As a freelance writer, she regularly writes articles for American Patchwork & Quiltings' family of magazines and also writes for other companies like Moda, and the Etsy blog.  Linzee's book 'Art Quilts of the MidWest' are stories from quiltmakers about how their surroundings have influenced them. You might be surprised!

American Patchwork and Quilting Pocast guest Sue Rasmussen Aug 2015

I am forever fascinated by quilts that are more realistic. Taking a photo and recreating it in cloth with fabric choices is a really fun process. Sue Rasmussen's work is diverse and amazing. I asked her to join me to talk about making quilts from photos. That is just one of the many things Sue does! So she will giv us the insider tips on this technique.. yeah!

American Patchwork and Quilting Pocast guest Robin Long Aug 2015

I am always excited to hear about a designer that has come up with a solution for making a tricky block. Robin Long of Robin Ruth Designs has a clever solution to make Mariner Compass blocks without paper piecing or templates! One of the early blocks I learned to make was a Mariner's compass where I drafted my own compass and pieced by hand. Can't wait to learn how Robin has made it easier for us!

American Patchwork and Quilting Pocast guest rita verroca Aug 2015

My Love of applique was sparked by several things and one of them is that I have gotten to see a lot of Baltimore Album style quilts living in Virginia.  That is what my guild was attracted to years ago when I started to quilt. Finding Rita Verroca's work has been exciting to me! She is a master at applique and I know we are going to be inspired and learn a lot from her today.

American Patchwork and Quilting Pocast guest Terry Kramzar Aug 2015

Terry Kramzar uses fabrics in the most amazing way. Her quilts are exciting to look at. Some are filled with images like incredible flowers, and others are more contemporary and abstract.  What draws me to Terry's work is the color and her approach to creating. She teaches this and today we get to learn a bit about how she works her color magic!
