I meet Linda Luggen briefly when I was giving a talk at her guild in Cincinnati, what caught my attention was her combination quilt. She shared she put multiple quilt parts into one quilt as there wasn't enough time to make all the quilts she wanted to make! I thought this was brilliant as sometimes we JUST need to try a bit and then move onto the next project. Linda is also an award winning quiltmaker, a show judge and lecturer. We are going to chat about show judging today!
Donna Desoto is part of my guild here in Virginia. She sent out a query awhile back asking if anyone wanted to participate in a challenge to create a small quilt that reflected a Beatles Song to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles group. The result of this wonderful challenge are 150 small quilts that Donna compiled into a book along with the story behind the quilt. My friend Sue participated and the quilts are amazing! Donna will tell me all about this adventure today!
Sam Hunter is a designer and the author of 'Quilt Talk, 12 chatty projects'. I've followed Sam's work for a long time and when I saw this book I knew I had to talk with about it! I LOVE words on quilts.. love them. So a whole book of fun way to do 'wordy' projects got my attention!
Look in your fabric stash, I bet you have fabrics from FigTree with Moda..or maybe you have even made up a quilt with it! The talented Joanna Figueroa is here to chat with me about how she designed her most recent fabric lines, how she LOVES flip and sew designs, and we'll talk mini quilts!
