Mind Matters is a weekly talk show hosted by Dr. Larry Ross, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Joan Duhaime, Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  They are seasoned mental health professionals with over 50 years combined experience.

The show varies from week to week with guest interviews, answers to e-mails and discussions of psychological theories of growth and development.  Issues and feelings familiar to each and every one of us will be addressed.  Tools for coping with life's challenges will be provided. 

Previous shows have dealt with such topics as love, blended families, communication, depression, holiday stress, ADHD, parenting, marriage and infidelity.  TUNE IN EACH WEEK as new and different perspectives will be offered by the hosts...who might not always see eye-to-eye!

Biographies

Lawrence Ross, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in private practice in Norfolk, Virginia, for 18 years.  Prior to that, he worked as Senior Clinical Psychologist at Ridgeview Psychiatric Hospital in Oakridge, Tennessee.

Dr. Ross has treated patients with a diverse range of diagnostic issues including ADHD, Mood Disorder, Psychosis, and Multiple Personality Disorder.  He is equally comfortable working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups.

 

 Dr. Ross and his wife, Sabra, a family physician, reside in Chesapeake, Virginia.  In their free time, they enjoy concerts, movies, museums, reading, travel and spending time with friends and family.

Joan Duhaime is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years experience working with children and families.  Joan worked in the field of emergency room nursing prior to mental health.  Her years as a child protective services senior social worker along with experience as a clinical director with in-patient and out-patient facilities gives her a unique understanding and perspective on the interrelationship of agencies in the field of mental health.

Joan currently maintains a private psychotherapy practice and sees clients in Chesapeake, Virginia and Manteo, North Carolina.

Joan and her husband, Larry,a dewatering specialist, have a blended family with nine grown children and several grandchildren.

They enjoy the Outer Banks of North Carolina, movies, nature and the opportunity to be with family and friends.
