What and Who is a Mom of Many Hats?

A Mom of Many Hats is a woman who is a mom, a wife, a student, a sister, a friend, a counselor, a mediator, a nurse, a creative genius, a maker of memories, a lover, a caretaker, a domestic goddess, a master at budgeting and a financial planner, an employer or employee, a chef, a manager and CEO of her home, and just plain wears any other hat of any other role that could possibly come her way. If you landed at this station, you are probably a Mom of Many Hats.

We Are Important!

Mom of Many Hats Radio is a place for moms to hear a loud and resounding "MOMS ARE IMPORTANT! " It is also a place for women who wear the mom badge to have a community that truly believes that they have value beyond simply the day to day tasks of "mommyhood." Those tasks are fantastic and wonderful (and there will be one show a month dedicated to parenting specific issues) but, sometimes in the day to day of life, we as moms, don't necessarily "feel" our value. As we wear the mom badge, we also wear important and very valuable "hats" that have tremendous value not only to our children, but to our marriages, our friends, the world, and ourselves. We are decision makers, we are encouragers of creativity, we model health and striving to be the best we can be, and we need to feed our souls so that we can then feed those of our children.

Truly Believe in Our Value!

When we become moms, we don't give up our own lives - in fact, we gain a whole new life. But sometimes, we set aside some of the things and parts of us that used to give us regular affirmation of our worth. Parenting is a long term investment and we don't always see the gains and value of our work on a day to day basis. As women, we know that on the surface that we have value. But when it comes down to it do we always believe it? We sometimes get caught in a cycle of defending our value, but forgetting to BELIEVE in our value. Mom of Many Hats Radio is a place where moms can have discussion, find community, and know that other women are feeling and processing the same things that they are. Here you will find validation and acknowledgement of your fantastic ability to juggle all of the hats they do. It is a talent that is priceless!

Mom of Many Hats Radio features "Hats" that highlight how many different areas we are vital to in not only our family life, but in the world as well.

First Friday Finance Hat- We'll talk about things budget related; finance, money decisions, couponing, finding best bargains, tips that moms can share with each other, employment issues, big and little money decisions.

Fourth Friday Creative Hat - How are we creative? Do we write, craft, play an instrument, cook - we'll talk about different creative outlets and tips for honing creativity.

Fifth Friday Couture Hat - Fifth Fridays are few and far between, just like the opportunities we moms take to feed our souls! This is the hat that we put on just to feel good - talking about what it is that speaks to our souls, nourishes, and revitalizes us. This is the show that helps us remember that we need to have our souls fed to feed those of our children.

The cover that is causing so much discussion and debate.  The one that is supposedly igniting the incendiary kindling of the parenting divides.

Join Mom of Many Hats Radio today as three moms and women share roundtable discussion about the controversial Time Magazine Article and what it means to be "Good Enough".  Join the conversation live, tweet along, or join in of facebood at http://www.facebook.com/pages/AZ-Mom-of-Many-Hats/100912886661732 .

Walking Through Tragedy - An Interview with Barry Adkins, Author of Kevin's Last Walk 5/1/12

Once we have children, the definition of who we are changes.  Our world and existence revolve around someone else in a way that we could never have imagined.  So what what do we do when our world suddenly changes and what defined us is gone?

Barry Adkins, author of Kevin's Last Walk joins Mom of Many Hats Radio to share what he did when his world suddenly changed - when he lost his 18 year old son to alcohol poisoning. In the midst of tragedy, Barry needed to find some purpose to what had happened. He shares his story from the "knock on the door" with the words no parent wants to hear, a 1400 mile walk from Arizona to Montana, to the seemingly impossible "something very good" in the loss of his son.

Barry Adkins has shared his story with over 50,000 students and parents.  Through his loss, he has found a "good" in sharing in not only about the dangers of alcohol poisoning, but in the ability to carry on when life changes so drastically.  He motivates and inspires those who hear his story to appreciate each breath they are given.

In today's technological world, the pull of electronic play time is very strong.  From a young age, kids learn how to interact with technology.  Technology is a good thing, but it can often be a strong pull away from outdoor and creative  play.

At Planet Fassa, families will find 6 interactive books with a great cast of characters, and prompts for hours of activities, as well as a points system to encourage kids to participate in imaginative, creative, and offline play.

Shannon Guernsey has a heart for helping children see the greatness, the creativity, and the imagination that is hidden inside of them.  Her goal is to help them reach their A-Ha moment as they unlock the limitless bounds of their imaginations.  Under the pen name S. Mooo, Shannon has written 6 interactive online books for kids to explore the vastness of their own potential to create limitless stories and  fun in their free play.
