Phyllis Pometta is a woman who wears many hats.  She had started her entrepreneurial  career as the founder and designer of a unique product business, Bandana Boutique.  While marketing her business she found that her love for marketing never did go away, it was just buried within the day to day life of raising a family.  Phyllis was faced with a difficult decision on whether or not she should close Bandana Boutique to persue her life long dream and passion, marketing.  On September 6, 2009 she started her own celebrity gifting company, Baby Swags.  It has become a mission of Baby Swags to provide marketing and public relations strategies to other entrepreneurial women in business who do not have the big time budgets as some other businesses do.  Since it's start, Baby Swags has successfully 'gifted' well over 500 celebrities, helped over 400 WAHM companies and provided products to several charitable organizations.

Client products have been seen on many A-List celebrities.  Baby Swags has hosted the "Rockin Lollipop Lounge" during the 2009 Baby & Tween Celebration LA Expo as well as providing gift bags for 250 audience members viewing the hit medical show, "The Doctors".  Baby Swags partnered up with little maven by Tori Spelling for a Mother's Day gifting that reached out to ten celebrity moms.  Phyllis has contributed to various entrepreneurial books and magazines such as Inc. Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens and has been interviewed by various media and print outlets. As part of the Baby Swags growth Phyllis will launch her own online and digital magazine, Tots To Teens Magazine.  In addition, she has created a parent company that will cover all areas of her business that includes, Tots To Teens Magazine, Baby Swags, and The Mommy Mentor.  The parent company, ASG Media Group will officially launch in September 2010.

Phyllis has built up relationships with many start-up businesses and has offered them ways to brand their business and products to celebrity new moms and their babies via celebrity gifting. She has also built strong relationships with many of Hollywood's "Gatekeepers" and Celebrities and has a strong belief in that communication and customer service is the most valuable asset in any company's success. She has and will always put the needs of her clients first.

Above all, Phyllis is a mom to three beautiful children, Alyssa 11, Scotty 8 and Gianna 5, and has been married to Steve since 1995.  They are currently residing in Plainfield, Illinois.  Phyllis has been able to bridge and maintain a healthy balance between work and home. She is a role model to her children as her oldest daughter has started her own blog, appropriately titled, Celebrity Teen Blog and is an aspiring young entrepreneur designing bracelets for friends, family and celebrities.

The Attitude Girl by Mila Bernadkin - Tuesday, August 24

AG Front Cover

The novel recounts a young woman's coming of age, with a little bit of sassiness and a lot of heart. Jam-packed with drama & emotional conflict, growing pains and trials & tribulations, romance and humor, the book follows outspoken, materialistic 17-year-old Victoria Benson on her rocky road to adulthood as she struggles with financial setbacks, bullying, first love, idealism, loss and forgiveness along the way. Everyone thinks Vicky has an attitude problem…but in her eyes, she's simply being realistic and honest about what she thinks and feels. If people can't handle it, well... it's their problem.

MilaIn her award-winning debut novel, The Attitude Girl, Mila Bernadkin draws on her experience as a teacher, mother and advanced graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature to identify with the tremulous world of confusing emotions and mixed messages of “maturity” today’s teens live in as they feel their way through the process of becoming young adults. In 2008, Bernadkin’s manuscript for The Attitude Girl became a First-place Winner in the Arizona Authors Association Annual Literary Awards Contest. That win resulted in a publishing contract with Five Star Publications, Inc., and the book was published in June 2009. Later, Mila Bernadkin was named a First-place Winner for the novel in the Teenage/Young Adult category at the 2009 London Book Festival and received more recognition in 2009 and 2010. Major League Bride is a diary of growth, a journal of struggle, an account of bizarrely truthful stranger-than-fiction events involving eccentric teammates.  It offers a glimpse inside family waiting rooms across the country.  It is a manual of survival but most of all it is a story of love.

  • Focuses on the strength of committed relationships and the importance of trust in a world full of pressure and temptation.

Kathleen Lockwood's Bio:
Days after graduating as an English Major from Regis College in Weston, MA, I walked down the aisle of Holy Cross Church in Springfield, MA to marry Skip Lockwood and stepped into the world of Major League Baseball. My honeymoon was spent on a road trip to Tiger Stadium in Detroit and Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium where I received a totally different education provided by the major league baseball community as a Major League Baseball Bride.

I spent the next twelve years in the company of some exceptional women on six different teams all across the country as my husband was periodically traded, sold, sent down, brought up and finally released.

A sixteen year breast cancer survivor, I am the mother of 5.  Skip and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this summer
