Guest - Darlene and I meet at an American Patchwork & Quilting Creativity Seminar. We were table mates and have been friends ever since! There is nothing like hanging with a new quilt friend for 3 days of creative explosion to make you BFF and Darlene and I are! I love finding her at the shows and it always seems like I just talke to her yesterday, even if it's been 6 months. Stevii and have known each other through the business side of the quilt world for years, but last year we really started to hang out when I joined the board of IQA the International Quilt Association. One of her many hats is as a quilt judge at shows and she also works with a few groups to help select quilts for the show. Meg Cox about the Alliance for American Quilts told us how she got into writing books and then came to write the The Quilters Resource. She also gave us the inside scoop on what the Alliance for American Quilts is all about, there are COOL things going on with this group! And I had a full half hour with Roseann Kermes to do our "What's hot" segment! We talk about Stitchery, redwork, embroidery and what's new! this is a JAMMED packed show with 2 guests. First Susan and I chat about how she got started and mostly about how she became interested in Art quilts then moved to making, selling and teaching about them! Susan works in the 2 worlds of traditional quilt making (like her newest book here) and then makes awesome art with fiber! In the second half Pokey Bolton joined us and the two of them chatted about surface design techniques and hot new things.. like using JELLO! It's a not to be missed show!! Feb 22 - Jenny Doh creator of the new art and inspiration site called Jenny's blog has been so inspirational to me over the last few years that I was super excited to have her on the show to learn about her creative processes! She also shared a look at her new website, which is now live! Then I had Art Garabedian of Reliable Corporation on the tell us how and why the V100 Reliable Iron that I use is so wonderful! This is a wonderful segment.. about 1/2 way through the show. And I have added a monthly chat with Roseann Kermes on 'Whats Hot' in the industry! She is on the last 15 min... Feb 15 - Beth and Liz of LizzieBCre8tive, the fun girls on the block! This is a show NOT to be missed as these girls say the most unexpected things! People left such GREAT comments, you should read some! In my interview we learned what the girls used to do before quilting, how they work and design long distance, the amount of chocolate they consume (oh .. just joking!)... we learned about the creative things this dynamic duo do beside quilt!
