The ever vibrant and talented Jackie Kunkel is back today and we are going to talk about color, which she is not afraid of! We also are going to explore learning by doing. Besides being a shop owner, Jackie is a successful hands on teacher and has recently done an online workshop. I really want to talk about how we learn.
Moda Designer Vanessa Gortzen and I meet when we had booths near each other at the trade show and I've been a huge fan of her work ever since. Vanessa's quilt and project patterns are fun to do and her fabric lines are gorgeous. She's going to share with us how she plans out a fabric line and she has some secrets for putting an amazing binding on your quilt and running a business with two littles around!
This year I've asked author and sewing expert Mary Abreu to join me each month and we'll dive deep into a topic. We'll be chatting about core quilting techniques, about details that I know you want to learn how to do better, and about making all this sewing fun! This month we are going to hit a few basics, some of the things people have told me they need to 'fill in the gaps' about. Maybe you learned to sew a long time ago, or maybe you are self taught, or just need to brush up! Mary and I have developed a GREAT set of topics to cover each month when she visits!
