Dr. Rick Marks-When People Get Hurt in the Church 10-03-17

Dr. Rick Marks is a man of great passion and purpose concerning marriage and family. He grew up in a divorced and abusive home as a child, so understands the challenges in hurting families.  He is an ordained minister, licensed counselor and understands the workings in churches today.  He sees many churches struggling with societal changes, broken familes, and also broken churches in general, because of human error and sin.  Dr. Rick will be our guest on Chained No More Talk Radio on October 3.  His topic will be: "When People Get Hurt in the Church."

Because of his childhood experiences, he has dedicated his life to conducting relationship and single adult retreats, to bring healing in families.  During this interview, however, he will turn toward the church family, and discuss how there can be great division and trauma in the church between leaerships and congregants.  Dr. Rick is straight up and is led by his heart to encourage his listeners to follow God's leading, as they seek answers and healing.

Dr. Rick is a speaker, ordained minister, licensed counselor, earned a PHD in Psychology and Counseling, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and an M.A. in religious education.  He is presently a pastor of family ministries in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Vice President of Live the Life Ministries.

Rick and his wife, Louella, live in Jacksonville and they have three adult children.  He is a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, loves to read, enjoys building plastic model airplanes and visiting civil war fields.
