Military Mom Talk Radio hosted by Sandra Beck and Robin Boyd welcome Dawn Zebuhr, Army veteran, Blackhawk Pilot.

Dawn Zebuhr attended college at Lafayette College, as a Government/Law major with a minor in teaching (Certification in Secondary Social Studies).  She received a 2 year ROTC Scholarship and became the first female Battalion Commander in Lafayette's history.


Dawn received her commission into aviation and attended flight school after college in Ft. Rucker, AL.  She earned her wings as a helicopter pilot, flying the UH-1 Huey and UH-60 Blackhawk.  Stationed at Ft. Carson, CO , she was the platoon leader and pilot in command for the 4th Infantry Division, 4th Combined Aviation Brigade.  From there she was deployed to Somalia and promoted to Captain.
Returning to Ft. Rucker, AL, Dawn attended an Army Aviation Advanced Course, followed by an assignment with 5-501st Aviation Battalion, Camp Wonju, Republic of South Korea. This was an Apache Battalion co-located on a South Korean Air Base.  She served as Battalion S-1 (Personnel Officer) and UH-60 Pilot.


Once stateside, she served as Brigade S-1 (Personnel Officer) , 1st Aviation Brigade and Chief, Officer Management for the Commanding General's Staff Officer for Officer Personnel Issues again at Ft. Rucker.


After discharge from the military, Dawn earned Masters in Human Resource Management, Troy State University, and became a recruiting manager for US West Communications, Denver, CO.  This lead to a position in Dallas, Texas as an HR manager in management training.  She then became an outdoor environmental science teacher and coached high school lacrosse.


In between she started a family and has furthered her career as a manager in New Hampshire.  Most recently Dawn is the director of human resources for the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.
