October 13 -Autism World and Teen Sexting

This week's show highlights:

  • Falling into the Autism world
  • Teen Sexting

Dr. Mary Barbera is the mother of two teen sons, Lucas and Spencer.  When Lucas was 3, he was diagnosed with Autism and that is when Mary (who was previously an RN and Nurse Manager In Philadelphia) "fell into the autism world."  While she began her journey as a "gung-ho" autism mom by attending multiple conferences in an effort to help Lucas, she has since become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Best Selling Author of the Verbal Behavior Approach (which is now available in several languages) and creator of a new online Autism ABA Help program that has already reached autism professionals and "gung-ho" parents from over 20 countries and 5 continents.

Molly Gill is the Government Affairs Counsel for Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM). She works with federal legislators, affected family members, and other criminal justice stakeholders to promote sentences that protect public safety and that are proportionate to the offense. She also serves as a commissioner on the District of Columbia Sentencing and Criminal Code Revision Commission.

So pull up a chair, shake up a cocktail, and kick up your heels while you tune in to the refreshingly real talk about what it takes to be a functional - and fun - parent in today's wild world of raising kids.
