Lisa Horlander and her guest Dace Kidd share tips they would give their younger self, opportunities that are coming up, and great resources they recommend to up-and-coming artists!

Dace Kidd is a Latvian/American visual artist working primarily in the media of oil and acrylic on canvas. Dace (pronounced, “Dot-sa”) completed her degree work at the Art Academy of Latvia in Riga and received advanced training for two years at Accademia di belli Arti in Palermo. Her installations and paper sculptures along with her large-scale drawing and paintings are better known in Europe. After moving to the United States in 2011, she has begun creating murals and developed a portraiture style. She also designs graphics and books and has provided cover art and illustrations for many. She had successful shows throughout Europe from Venice to Berlin to Amsterdam and exhibited artwork in New York City and Miami. She works on site-specific projects and regularly shows her work and curates art events in Tyler and Dallas, Texas.
