A Life Permeated with Self-Forgiveness
I know a lot about self-forgiveness. More than I want to. Why? Because over 40 years ago, I aborted my first child. It took a while for me to believe Jesus’s blood could cover a sin so contrary to a mother’s nature.
I don’t use the word sin lightly. In fact, I rarely use the word sin at all. Mainly because we have such a skewed definition of it in modern times. (If you’re brave and want me to come to talk about our post-modern definition of sin at your church, it’s one of my favorite topics for blowing people’s minds! And setting folks free.)
CARE Executive Director B.J. Garrett interviewed me awhile back and I’ve been saving the video for this month. January is Sanctity of LIFE month. Sanctity of LIFE Sunday is always the third Sunday in January, declared so by President Reagan in 1984.

Father in heaven, there are little ones with You that we will have to wait to heaven to meet. Thank You for being a God who prepared forgiveness for us out of Your own creative, sacrificial nature. We LOVE YOU and praise You! You are the God of heaven and earth, the Righteous One, O merciful and forgiving God. Teach us to forgive ourselves based on the loving, powerful, and perfect sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us offer forgiveness to others. In His name, we pray. Amen.
