Ageism, Older Authors how & why they succeed

Jane S. Daly visits with Lit Up host, Angela Breidenbach, on Older Authors-how they succeed and why.

During our humorous chat about the creative careers of aging boomers, we promised our listeners these photos and the "frother envy" story...

1. Frother Envy story Jane promised to share...

The scene was set for a weekend of planning and goal setting for the WCCW 2018 and 2019 conferences. Six women gathered in the spacious home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Spirits were high until that fateful Saturday morning when one of the ladies pulled out her frother. The rest of us watched in awe as she heated cream in the mug, then plunged the miniscule beater to make mounds of luscious foam. Then it happened . . . frother envy.
What is that strange phenomenon? How can five level-headed Christian women experience a longing so intense for something belonging to someone else?
Our ‘friend' then poured coffee into the foam and took a first appreciate sip. Our mouths watered. We had to have some.
Each of us took a turn, using our favorite milk or cream of choice. We frothed and mixed, frothed and poured, and entered a new realm of deliciousness. Who needs Starbucks when you can prepare your own custom coffee drink?
At one point, we briefly discussed tossing the frother owner off the island. That idea was abandoned when one of the women remembered she need a ride home from said frother lady.  There was a rumor that one of the ladies hid the frother in her bag, claiming it was "misplaced."
The weekend came to an end with no mishaps. No one lost a digit fighting over the frother. Envy was confessed before the Lord and to our sister in Christ.
Two days later, a mysterious package arrived on my doorstep. Anticipation mounted as I ripped open the padded envelope. I turned the package sideways to dump out the contents . . . a brand-new frother.
