Military Mom Talk Radio hosted by Sandra Beck and Robin Boyd welcome author Alia Reese, author Bonnie Latino, and Successful Military Wife founder Kay Putnam

Alia Reese is the award winning author of the American Hero Books® series for military children. Her first book, American Hero Books®: My Daddy is a Marine, was written for her children as a way to teach them about their father's very important job and to help them stay connected to him while he was away for frequent deployments and training exercises. Mrs. Reese has a Master's Degree in Psychology and spent several years working in the Marine Corps' Key Volunteer Program as a Unit Coordinator and Advisor helping other military families learn about resources available to overcome the obstacles inherent to military life. Prior to military life Mrs. Reese was a collegiate rowing coach and now spends her days researching, writing, chasing a very active preschooler, and trying to stay ahead of a way too savvy tween while continuing to navigate the waters of life as a Marine Corps family.

American Hero Books®: My Daddy is a Marine is an award winning book that helps young children understand and feel proud of Daddy's very important job and keeps him present in their mind when he is away for training and deployment.

Each page discusses a fundamental aspect of what Daddy does as a US Marine and includes photographs of real Marines at work. AND this book is uniquely formatted so that each page opens at the top and you can insert your own pictures over those that come in the book.

This personalizable book is a terrific gift and keepsake for a young child. It is designed for infant-preschool age children but written at a beginning reader level so all children can safely enjoy it.

A former columnist for Stars and Stripes newspaper in Europe, Bonnie Latino has won national writing awards for fiction and non-fiction. She is passionate about the written word, supporting America's men and women in uniform, and her baby Bichon, Sweetie Pie, a name that is appropriate, Bonnie says, only when the little dog is fast asleep. Bonnie's addictions include Diet Dr. Pepper, shopping at Chico's, and Alabama football "Roll Tide!" She lives and writes for Alabama publications in southwest Alabama. She is married to retired Colonel Tom Latino. The couple enjoyed Air Force assignments to Guam, Greece, Great Britain, Germany, and Hawaii as well as in California, Mississippi, New York, and three assignments in Texas.

Bonnie Latino met her co-author, New Jersey writer (and civilian) Bob Vale, online in a professional military forum on CompuServe. They have been writing together professionally for over a decade. Although they have never met in person, their novel, "Your Gift to Me" won the 2012 Gold Medal for Military Super Romance from the Military Writers Society of America and the 2012 Silver Medal for Inspirational/Healing Fiction from the Stars and Flags Book Awards, Branson, MO.
