Military Mom Talk Radio with Sandra Beck and Robin Boyd Offers a Tribute to Military for Labor Day

A Labor Day celebration on Military Mom Talk Radio this week includes tributes to our military who rarely have a day off on this holiday.

Labor day is always the first Monday in September and was conceived by a labor union leader in 1882 who proposed a celebration honoring the American worker. The date chosen was simply "convenient" because it was midway between the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving. Although the day's focus on organized labor has diminished over the years, the legal holiday still marks the end of summer and the traditional time for children to return to school.

Military jobs take the forefront on today's show including music from Lonestar, Alabama, Toby Keith, Roxie Dean, Darryl Worley and SheDaisy.  A reading from Richard C. Geschke's book, Shadows of Combat, describes a farewell to his job "over there". Welcome home to all those who are wrapping up their tours, and thank you to all who worked the holidays for our country.
