So Breath Awareness … what is it exactly, how does it differ from other techniques such as yoga, and what other benefits does it have for us in today’s world? Well, with Heidi’s assistance, we are going learn how ‘Breath Awareness’ can not only reduce stress, but also how it helps in the overcoming of addictions, and assists in creativity. My Guest Heidi Thompson: artist, author and teacher Heidi Thompson lives in Coldstream, British Columbia. She had studied art in Europe and when she returned home, she worked as a photographer, publisher, writer, teacher, and fine artist.
Heidi has been practicing breath awareness, an ancient Vipassana meditation technique, for more than thirty years. After experiencing many benefits including better health, creativity and happiness, she was inspired to help children.
In 1996, she pioneered an attention development program called Mindmastery and was one of the first to teach breath awareness to children in public schools in Canada. Heidi currently conducts breath awareness workshops and lectures and spends time painting and exhibiting internationally.
