Shawn has co-authored the Facilitators Advanced Skills Training (Train the Trainer) program which has been licensed to colleges and private organizations; utilized for heavy equipment training programs, employability programs, sawmill training, leadership, healthcare and small business programs. Shawn is a past graduate of Vancouver Island University for Tourism Management and Royal Roads University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management as well as attended the Seoul University in Korea and currently teaches entrepreneurship on contract for the University of Victoria.

Shawn is a a former Professor of Entrepreneurship at Royal Roads University and also a community-based economic development consultant with a focus on entrepreneurship as the foundation for sustainable prosperity. Shawn has has been teaching entrepreneurship internationally for over 20 years from Canada, to Costa Rica, Iran, Chile and the US.
