David Granirer
David Granirer is a counselor, stand-up comic, speaker, author, and founder of Stand Up For Mental Health (SMH), a program teaching stand-up comedy to people with mental health issues. His work is featured in the VOICE Award winning documentary Cracking Up. David who himself has depression received a Life Unlimited Award from the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance, a Welcome Back Award from the National Council of Behavioral Health, and a Champion of Mental Health Award, a national award recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the mental health agenda in Canada. His SMH group in Australia also received a Rotary Shine On Award for Special Achievement in Mental Health.

 

David is a sought after keynote speaker and also works with mental health organizations in Canada, the U.S., and Australia to train SMH groups in dozens of cities.

Since founding SMH in 2004 he has trained over 400 comics and they have done over 500 shows on military bases, for correctional facilities, on university and college campuses, for government departments and corporations, for behavioral health organizations, and are part of the medical school curriculum for two universities.

Wendy Willilamson and Honora Rose

Wendy Williamson was diagnosed with bipolar disorder eight weeks before graduating from Virginia Tech. After being downsized from corporate America, Wendy wrote her best-selling memoir: I’m Not Crazy Just Bipolar. It was followed by Two Bipolar Chicks Guide to Survival: Tips for Living with Bipolar Disorder, published by Post Hill Press and co-written with author Honora Rose. Wendy has written for: BP Magazine, Bipolar Disorder for Dummies:2nd Edition, The Two River Times and currently blogs for BPHope.com. Her book has been reviewed by Publisher’s Weekly and The Advocate, magazine of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She is the co-founder of The Red Bank Writers Group and has been interviewed on over forty radio stations worldwide. Wendy lives in New Jersey, burning out laptops to stay sane.

Honora Rose is a graduate of Boston University. Upon graduation, she worked in the financial industry for ten years before starting a family. She has a thirteen-year-old son and an eleven-year-old daughter. Not long after the birth of her second child, she was diagnosed with bipolar type I. At thirty-five, Honora’s years of meteoric highs and crushing lows finally had a name. Her journey to wellness was born. Today, Honora is co-founder of The Red Bank Writers Group and an editor. Two Bipolar Chicks Guide to Survival: Tips for Living with Bipolar Disorder is her first book.
