Jeremy Hilton, a 1995 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, cross-commissioned into the Navy (subs) where he served until 2003. He is the spouse of Lt Col Renae Hilton, USAF. The couple resides in Fairfax, VA, with their two children, Kate (11) and Jack (4).
In 2002, while on shore duty at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C., Kate was born with significant medical issues. Due to the expectation of a higher deployment tempo in the Navy, Jeremy decided to separate from the Navy and take care of Kate full time. Since then, Jeremy has not only made it his mission to advocate for his family, but for the thousands of other similarly affected military families.
Jeremy was one of six expert witnesses chosen by the Senate Armed Services Committee to testify at a hearing on the issues surrounding military families impacted by disabilities (June 21, 2012). Jeremy’s most recent effort is focused on campaigning for the “Tricare for Kids” legislation (Sec 735 of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act). For his work advocating on behalf of military families, Jeremy was selected as the 2012 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year.
Jeremy is a published author as well as a highly regarded speaker on issues involving military families. He is one of the co-founders of the #KeepYourPromise Alliance, a former member of the MOAA Spouse Council and currently serves with the Military Family Advisory Network.
Jeremy has a certificate in Health Care Management from Texas State University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and is expected to complete a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University this summer.
