Author and filmmaker Helena Norberg-Hodge is the founder and director of Local Futures, an NGO dedicated to the renewal of community, ecological health, and local economies worldwide. Helena has been promoting an economics of personal, social and ecological well-being for more than thirty years. She is the producer and co-director of the award-winning documentary 'The Economics of Happiness', and the author of 'Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh'. She has given public lectures in seven languages, and has appeared in broadcast, print, and online media worldwide, including MSNBC, The London Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The Guardian. JONATHAN STARR founded and led the private investment firm Flagg Street Capital, worked as an Analyst at SAB Capital and Blavin & Company and as a research associate within the Taxable Bond Division at Fidelity Investments, and sat on the board of a publicly traded company. With a half-million-dollar donation from his personal finances, Starr created the Abaarso School in 2009.
