My Offering Of Thanksgiving 11-22-16

My Offering of Thanksgiving

Yesterday while in prayer with a sister in Christ,

The Lord began telling us to Teach his people to love him.

Teach them his ways and statutes.

And teach them to be thankful.

Are you thankful?

I am.

Today I remembered the instruction from yesterday and felt tearful because I feel the Lord is grieved  that his people are not thankful for all the good and great things he's done.  They want more and expect more. Sad.

Here's one story that reflects the attitude of so many:

And he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.  And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priest.  And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.  And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a load voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks:  And he was a Samaritan.  And Jesus answering said, were there not ten cleansed?  But where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.  And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.  Luke 17:12-19

Only one out of 10 returned to thank the Lord for what he'd done for them and he was not of the house of Israel.

Let this not be true of me Oh Lord.  I am so thankful for so many things I cannot recall them all but I will state a few things publicly today and through out the week.

I thank the Lord for the universe, heaven and earth, life, my life, his love, his son, his son's sacrifice for my sins, that you gave your son that all could be reconciled to you, that he gave his life for all, for salvation, hope, your word, the Holy Spirit, delivering me from an abusive childhood, delivering me from an abusive marriage, from death, blessing me with a sound mind, an education, a beautiful daughter, a wonderful new husband, a handsome good son, my first grandchild, many sons and daughters, becoming a nurse, the opportunity to serve you, several homes in my life, transportation, family, friends, teaching me, maturing me, restoring me, chastening me, guiding me, food, shelter, pain, suffering, victories, good times, bad times, protection from my enemies, peace, relationships, fellowship, experiences, more than I need, Grace, wisdom...

I could go on and on and on......

Make this season be about him, not about ball games or ourselves.  Sing songs to him and tell of his goodness!

We will be extending our Thanksgiving Celebration to December 1st. We invite you to join us.

With Love
