I attended SUNY Albany where I studied Political Science, Russian, and Spanish. I’m the ninth of 12 siblings. I was the only American to work in the Organized Crime Control Department of the Soviet Police and later was the director of the Moscow office of the world’s leading corporate investigation and business intelligence firm. I lived in China for a year prior to modernization, worked for the CIA, and drove a cab in New York City, and have authored, co-authored, edited, or translated 20 books. And I was afraid of pretty much everything growing up.
