This week's show highlights:
- Keeping our kids safe on and offline
- Stop "shoulding" on yourself
For 14 years Heather Ryan was a Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). During that time she investigated felonies such as child abuse, sexual assault, narcotics, homicide, and espionage. After all those years catching bad guys, Heather was missing time with her kids and knew she had to make a change. So, she turned in her badge and gun and started Safe in the City, where she teaches women & girls safety workshops and self-defense classes. Recently Heather has partnered with Janel Patterson, the CEO of Frienedy (a private social media alternative) to form Get Safe Academy. Together the two moms are teaching other parents how to keep their kids safe physically and online. They also teach parents how to help their kids have a positive digital footprint to impress colleges and/or to land that perfect job.
