Upon fulfilling his military obligation and discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1964 Mr. Garrison started Garrison Fuel Oil of L.I. and built it into a 30 truck operation over the years. He purchased several small fuel oil companies and further expanded his operation into a security company, (Garrison Security) a bottled water company, (Piping Rock Natural Spring Water) and a recycling company (Castaway Recycling). Mr. Garrison sold the last of his businesses in 2006.
Mr. Garrison served on many Boards including the Empire State Petroleum Assoc., the Oil Heat Assoc. of Long Island as chairman, Metropolitan Energy Energy Council, Goodfellows of Suffolk County and L.I. Charities.
Mr. Garrison is happily married and presently retired and resides in both Fort Myers, FL and Lloyd Harbor, NY.
