Many people suffer from depression, whether as a response to a specific situation or because of ongoing environmental or other factors. Surprisingly, it can be difficult to recognize the symptoms, especially if they have been present for months or even years. In this episode, Jill Wheeler explains some of the ways in which this devastating life challenge can overwhelm us, how we can recognize it in ourselves or others, and she shares information and resources that can help with the healing journey.
Jillian Coleman Wheeler has been an author, consultant, speaker and personal mentor for more than three decades. She has a background in counseling, writing and marketing and has also had extensive training in the mental health arena. Jillian founded Good Samaritan Counseling Center in Spring, Texas, and co-founded The Child Abuse Prevention Center of Texas. For 7 years, she owned and operated an affordable housing complex for single parent families, which included a childcare center and a range of social programs. She is the co-author of six books on personal development, spirituality and marketing.
