“Many people live with disabilities & limitations. Learn how to raise your level of Sexability.” Marylou Naccarato
Imagine being an IRS Revenue Agent for 23 years and discovering your passion is practical Sex Education for people of short stature and with disabilities. That describes Marylou Naccarato. Marylou lives by the credo, "There are those who wait for life to happen and those who make it happen." As a professional woman, mother, and short person Marylou believes everyone is disabled or differently-abled in one way or another. It is a matter of whether your condition is internal or external and regardless we all can have loving intimacy.
As a Sex Educator, Life Coach, and Speaker Marylou Naccarato draws from her formal education and life experiences as a person of short stature. Standing at a statuesque 3’11” she developed a “High10 Your Life” approach to managing life’s magical, yet often unpredictable journey.
Marylou conducts explicit educational and entertaining sex and relationship workshops, for all people who want to heighten their sensuality and intimacy. She shares creative techniques, sex positions, and a variety of adult toys that are suited to your range of mobility.
She holds private and group sessions for teens, adult individuals and/or couples. Her goal is to bring forth issues openly regarding sensuality and intimacy for people with short stature and those living with other disabilities with-out shame or embarrassment. She also conducts informational sexuality seminars for professional clinicians in the field of Sexology and Rehabilitation therapy who work with clients that are disabled. She is a member of AASECT. She has a BA degree in Sociology, and is currently working towards a graduate degree in Human Sexuality.
She personally believes that everyone is disabled or “differently-abled” in one way or another. “It’s all a matter of degree, and whether your condition is internally or externally noticeable” she states. If you are living with high blood pressure, diabetes, or even if a few pounds overweight, there is a possibility that your sex life will be affected. Medical technology today affords us the benefit of living longer and healthier lives.
Many live with the survival scars of an accident or injury, cancer, heart attack, stroke, or other health conditions. Normal progression of aging, medication, recovering from a surgery, declining physical stamina, stress, and your overall mental health are all conditions that can limit the quality of your everyday SEX life unless you/and or your partner make a conscious decision to raise your level of “Sexability.”
Marylou emphasizes that you can have a very passionate and erotic experience without intercourse or orgasm either alone or with your partner. Remove the performance anxiety quotient and allow yourself the opportunity to dialogue and explore with your partner about what is pleasurable. Ultimately, the real sensual experience is the emotional connection and intimate bonding that you create with each other.
Marylou is also a Sex and Disability blogger on Betty Dodson’s site www.dodsonandross.com
