The Teenage and Young Adult Survival Handbook includes topics such as suicide, child abuse, children of alcoholics, bullying, self-esteem, surviving school, surviving holidays while living in a dysfunctional home, being patient with trying to change. Author Steve Simpson offers his own personal experiences with these topics and how he survived them and tries to give encouragement and hope to his young readers.

The Teenage and Young Adult Survival Handbook is included in any of Steve’s 4 young adult action fiction novels: Who Am I?, The World is Wrong, Runaway and Child’s Island. The fact that The Teenage and Young Adult Survival Handbook is an insert in Steve’s fiction books avoids embarrassment for a young person wanting to get help because they could say they simply want to read the fiction stories in the novels themselves. This also makes it easier to give this lifesaving information to a young person without putting them on the spot or having a confrontation.
